Have any other events been announced in Liverpool during the week of Paul's gig to take advantage of the extra tourism attracted by it? Perhaps a record fair, a Pete Best or Quarry Men concert, or some sort of mini-version of the August convention?
Nothing has been announced as yet. The best thing would be to keep an eye here: http://www.visitliverpool.com/whats-on or here: http://www.cavernclub.org/whats-on/on/2015/05/28/

Honestly i cant see there being much extra added in time for Paul's concert,we're well served for music and festivals and the like and i guess as well given the small amount of time gives when he anouces concerts pretty much make it harder to get something organised.

There was nothing special in the city the last time he played in Liverpool back in December 2011. The Cavern week be a magnet for fans, as it always is, but it doesn't even look like they're doing anything special.

Yea i agree, the event of Paul playing in itself is enough for most people it seems.

I have just tweeted the cavern ill let you know if I get a reply. They normally have a decent beatles cover band on Thursdays. The Bar called McCartneys in Hanover street might have a McCartney karaoke on too.
-
Thank you all for your replies. I am also going to the Maroon 5 concert at the Echo Arena on May 29, which should be fun. Nobody ever comes here (the Amazon region of Brazil), so I'd better take full advantage of my trip. I bet Liverpool is buzzing with anticipation for Paul's concert! Have all of you done your ticket/travel/accommodation arrangements?

Thursday night is always 'Thursday Beatles Tribute Night' in The Cavern, featuring their resident Beatles band so if you're planning on going after the McCartney gig, I'd pre-book your tickets now. I know folk who are planning to spend the day in The Cavern but I'm going to stay above ground and enjoy a few quite pubs round The Cavern Quarter and up Seel Street, Fleet Street and Wood Street before heading down to The Pumphouse for dinner with friends.

McCartney's bar on Hanover Street is AWFUL! It sells cheap booze and is full of drunk locals - as is the Glass Onion pub on Mathew Street. If you want somewhere to meet that will hold everyone going along, has a nice vibe and is Beatles related i'd say The Philharmonic Pub on Hope Street. The Belvedere and Ye Cracke are also lovely pubs in the same area that they used to drink in, but they're slightly smaller and may not hold everyone looking to meet up. Jackie's tours - they are brilliant! Highly recommend that! The Cavern after the Macca gig has The Merseybeatles playing. They play every Thursday and are really good. If anyone needs any help with trains, buses, where to stay etc give me a shout

I agree about the Philharmonic and Ye Cracke, we had a great time dropping into both of those places. There was another pub not too far from City Hall we liked as well, but the name is escaping me, something about being one of the oldest pubs in Liverpool I think? It was small and the people running it were lovely and so friendly to us (though everywhere we went there the people were always so friendly and lovely!).

Is McCartney Pub near Brian Epstein theatre? If it's what I remember yes an A1 dump. Philharmonic is a beautiful place and Ye Cracke is an absolute must!

Were tickets for this concert sold online only or at a physical site as well? If so, where? I'm asking because there are usually flyers advertising the show at the physical sales point, and I'll try to get one for my collection while I'm in town. I'm aware that they are being used in Birmingham, so I was wondering about Liverpool.

They were available from the box office at the Echo Arena.

I finally lucked out and got a ticket yesterday from the Echo Arena's own site so I'll be here! Couldn't believe I managed to get a hostel bed for £10 and return train fare for under £20. Can't wait. PS: It;s usually the Mersey Beatles who play the Cavern on a Thursday night. Highly recommended.

As my friend sadly has to miss this gig, I've got one ticket for sale - sec. 12 row DD which is a great seat on the upper tier. I just want face value. PM me if you are interested. First come, first served!
-
Anyone thinking of the Birmingham gig as it's not sold out Amazon local have tickets stating at £50

I'll be going to Brum and Liddypool. Can't wait - first Macca gigs in 5 years for me.

If any board members who have got a floor ticket (Sections A, B, C, D, E, F) wish to have a quick chat at the venue before the concert begins, please send me a private message so that we can exchange Section/Row/Seat info. Thanks!

For those in Liverpool the day after the McCartney gig, The Original Quarrymen are playing a gig at St Peter's Church Hall, Woolton on Friday 29th May at 7:00pm. The gig features Colin Hanton, Rod Davies and Len Garry and starts at 7:00pm with tickets costing £30 available from The Beatles Shop beside The Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool as well as being available on the night. There will also be interviews, Q&A session, autograph and photograph opportunities plus a raffle to raise funds for St Peter's Church.

Would love to see that! Been in the church hall of course but to see some of the Quarry Men play would be such a treat. Alas not heading to Liverpool at the end of the month.
