Although I respect everyone's right to vote for the candidate of their choice, I'm saddened after viewing the US election results, knowing Donald Trump will be President... Somehow the world doesn't seem like a safe place at the moment... I don't like the idea of old prejudices returning, and other nations seeing warlike threats coming from us, and perhaps violence escalating. But just wanted to say Thank You to Sir Paul for supporting Hillary. Even if he wasn't able to vote, just wanting to make a difference by standing up for his beliefs, and for the worth of all persons, really means alot and is appreciated. Also want to thank him for writing "Let it Be"... it's a song I really appreciate now more than ever, and will listen to it so I won't worry too much about what the next four years will bring. The words seem to really fit at this time! For those of us who are concerned about the future, all we can do is to continue to do what's right, and live the best lives we can.... and turn up the volume and enjoy all the great music... life is too short to let worry and fear have control.

I'll be the first to bite..... All I got to say is Thank God The Beatles (and solo) music is a great source of escape. There is no other time than now, more than ever, to have that gift with us. We are in a period of great division and civil unrest; very similar to that of the 1960's. Love conquers all and that music was created in a time frame of a leader that brought about a draft to continue the Vietnam conflict. The country was divided then and it appears to be divided now. My point is we are lucky to have a way to bring us together via music. I hope Paul and Ringo continue to provide us with that relief over the next four years as they reach their early 80s.

The Donald, I believe, is a big fan of the Beatles and the Stones. During his Republican Primary acceptance speech, he played 'Here Comes the Sun'. Last night during his Presidential acceptance speech, he played 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'. Say what you want about the man, but he has good taste in music.

Ok, here's the deal. Trump is going to do just fine. Clinton would have done just fine. And to all the performers out there, just shut up and sing.

I agree with everything until your last sentence. Neither one of them will be in their early 80s in the next 4 years. Okay, Ringo will be 80 in 4 years, but Paul will be 78. Maybe you meant "as they approach their early 80s?"

We're as divided as the '60s, but the 1860s. Too bad we don't have anyone making music like the 1960s.

Yeah, like John wrote (in Paul's song We Can Work It Out) "Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend."

Thank you to Paul and his old buddies for always reminding us of what is good and beautiful in the world, and being the soundtrack to whatever life brings us. They inspire me every day, and I'm especially grateful on those days when I can use a little extra inspiration.

Or/and, shut up and make your movies, actors, and your TV shows, Ellen, and all the late night talk show hosts. Just because you book guests that agree with you and reinforce your and their political beliefs doesn't mean all of America is going to follow your lead. You ain't gonna be out of work. You can move to Canada or stay here. Life goes on either way. The sun still comes up each day, the birds sing and the fish swim.

That's right. Celebrities should never share their political opinions. Especially if they have TV shows. There's nothing ironic about that.

Free speech is a basic civil liberty, one that is not given up when one joins the performing arts. The Beatles are the bestselling musical artist of all time in the States. They've contributed far more to the economy than anyone here. Just personally, Paul McCartney has paid more in taxes to America than anyone here - and, incidentally, more than the president-elect of this country, who consistently has dodged his economical responsibility to his country, his employees, and his business partners. Paul owns at least four homes in this country and a business. His children, his extended family and his wife are American citizens. To act like he should "shut up and sing" is not only ignorant, but profoundly anti-American.

The Beatles were the first entertainers to voice their opinion about War, Segregation, Politics, etc. John Lennon took it further with his Peace Campaign. They paved the way for many protestors to be heard, not just entertainers, but the young generation of the 60's and 70's as well. To see that there were protests erupting nationwide as soon as Trump was elected, is heartening in the wake of the 2016 election. It was a sickening clash of egos and name calling, and a real mess. Now it's time for some healing before the inauguration in January. And the nation will move on.
