I found this little gem just tonight. Never had heard it before! "Summer of '59" was released as a B-Side to the "Jenny Wren" promo single for Chaos and Creation In The Backyard in 2005. There wasn't much from that album that I was crazy about, but had this been included on the album, I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more! What do you think of the tune? Like it? Don't like it? Love it?

Wacky thumbs up from me..... Not brilliant, but I like it for its pleasantness.

I've always loved this song. He has some great Bsides & bonus tracks.

It is pleasant, isn't it? Nice and bright! I've added it to my summer playlist.

It's nice, pleasant and fun, but not of the caliber of most of "Chaos and Creation." Not including it in the album was the right call.

Agreed. Happy to have it in his catalogue (and I have the vinyl single on gorgeous deep red vinyl), but it doesn't really fit with the other album tracks.

Fun song and I like it but it does not fit the more somber mood of CHAOS.

                    Maybe I'm amazed !!

Yeah, it probably wouldn't have been good to put it on that album. It doesn't go with Chaos material, which makes me wonder why Paul paired it with Jenny Wren? Whatever the reason, I'm glad it got released. I like it a lot.

A cracking b-side. Always cheers me up. Good lyrics too.
