Paul McCartney Archive Collection

AbbeyRoadCrosser:
I am really happy about this also, in an interview with Denny Seiwell he mentioned the Ram remaster, saying to look out for the track Rode All Night as a bonus track.

Woo! That would make sense too...Remaster and Rerelease Ram...then, tour South America with a minty fresh setlist of songs from Ram! As Jen mentioned earlier, I hope he does a better job of honoring this remaster. BOTR got 5 spots in the set when it was remastered....McCartney got 1...and mccartney II had one...for like four gigs.
Had it? Or do you mean the pre-album 1979 single "Wonderful Christmastime"?

He played Coming Up on a few of the South American shows that spring...and I think one of the Vegas shows...could be wrong about Vegas.

I thought he pulled out that one just once in 2010 (for the first and last time in a full set since 2007). Doesn't matter though. It's very much true he didn't really 'add' album tracks from any of those remastered albums in his live set. And that's unfortunate. But I really have a feeling this year is going to give us new chances for one of those 'hidden nuggets' in the setlist. 2 weeks until Rotterdam!

Well technically he did with Maybe I'm Amazed, but if your going for totally brand new or off the wall songs....then no.

Well, the fiasco with delux versions of KOTB taught me something . When Ram is finally annouced, I will not automatically preorder from PM.com and will wait and see where the best delux version is. Remember, Best Buy had a BOTR exclusive version that was a steal (though it didn't have all the disc of the huge version and part of me is now regretting not shelling out for that...) let's see if I can stick to this or compulsively preorder...
-
Oh and we here in the states want EVERYTHING in the delux Ram package on a physical CD. Do you hear me, MPL? none of that download only crap. I want something I can slide into a slot. in my car.
-
I'm afraid to get my hopes up but this sounds like it might actually happen in May. I'll be buying the Deluxe version of this either way, but I'm going to keep my expectations very low about the extras so that maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised! Or not. After the download debacle with KOTB, I just think he's not going to give away a lot of extras.

Yes, he played Coming Up and I Saw Her Standing There during the second concert in Rio de Janeiro last year. I wasn't expecting either! Here are the videos that I made:

I thought so...because I remember thinking, wow! Its great he's playing that for the remaster! But then it dissapeared!

Just found this article about a Record Store Day preview of the Ram reissue: On April 21st, many independent music store retailers will have a vinyl replica single of ?Another Day? b/w ?Oh Woman, Oh Why.? My favorite two sentences from the article: "The official information for the single indicates that ?this exclusive reissue single is taken from the forthcoming Paul McCartney Archive Collection edition of Ram coming this spring!? (Neither track is actually on the Ram album, but we now know that both songs will be present in the sure-to-be-copious supplemental material!)" Here is the full article: http://theseconddisc.com/2012/03/13/ram-on-paul-mccartney-archive-collections-ram-coming-this-spring-previewed-on-record-store-day/

That was my first reaction too. And it will only be a 3 Cd 1 DVD set. But like the other reissues I'm sure the price will drop before the release date.

Can't see that being the price, surely. Other deluxe editions have all been similarly priced, around £60.

that better be some DVD then. I thought I only paid about $60 or close for the other deluxes I got. (I didn't get BOTR delux). The DVDs of those...well, some where better then others.
