Paul McCartney Archive Collection

RRA:
Except with the Archive release pattern so far, at best we'll get one more release this fall/winter in time for the Christmas market. I don't see them grouping those Wings records together (which makes perfect sense IMO), and then do Ram a month or two later.
i mean, they did release McCartney and McCartney II together. and he has so many albums to reissue and i think he will start pumping them out faster and pairing them up with albums that make sense (much like McCartney and McCartney II). V&M, WATSOS, and WOA make sense to release together and feature the same line up of wings and all fit really well together. RAM will probably get it's own release, and then Wild Life and RRS will be released together. he's going to want to release them quicker and i think pairing them up is how he will do it

My idea of what the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" Deluxe Edition of "Wild Life" should include: Disc 1: The Original Album: 1. Mumbo 2. Bip Bop 3. Love Is Strange 4. Wild Life 5. Some People Never Know 6. I Am Your Singer --Bip Bop Link-- [?] 7. Tomorrow 8. Dear Friend --Mumbo Link-- [?]* Disc 2: Singles, Live Performances, and Etc.: 1. Give Ireland Back to the Irish 2. Give Ireland Back to the Irish (Instrumental) 3. Mary Had a Little Lamb 4. Some People Never Know (Demo) 5. Wild Life (Rehearsal) 6. Mary Had a Little Lamb (Long "4:36" Time Version) [It EXISTS!] 7. I Am Your Singer (Live, 21 August 1972, at Congresgebouw, The Hague, Netherlands) 8. Wild Life (Live, 21 August 1972, at Congresgebouw, The Hague, Netherlands) [There a better live version recorded of this song that should put instead?] I have to ask though should Hear Music add in the "Bip Bop/Mumbo" instrumental links into the original album? Or include them in the Bonus Discs, to maintain the original flow of the original 1971 LP by itself?!?!? 'Cause I'm afraid if that's done it'll cause other tracks to release in the bonus disc to be pushed off seeing the limited track listings of bonus discs for McCartney I & II + BOTR. I found out there was a demo version of "Mumbo" that's out there, but I didn't include it because it sounded TOO narrow, so sorry.
There's no demo for "Mumbo" but there are alternate mixes for that one and "Some People Never Know". There's also the Cavendish home recording of "Some People Never Know" from the McCartney sessions that would be interesting to hear along with the alternate orchestra mix of "Dear Friend". The "Bip Bop/Mumbo" links were always on the original album according to MPL. And if you're adding in "Mary Had A Little Lamb" which was recorded after Wild Life was released you might as well add the outtake "The Great Cock and Seagull Race".
is this the demo of "Some People Never Know" that you are speaking of?
Sorry that was an old idea list I had and yeah at the time the "demo version" of "Some People Never Know" I added in was probably a acetate or alternate mix version, that version in the YT video despite the description given, is actually a possible "acetate" version, since I heard the demoes for "Wild Life" haven't leaked or even survive except for a different version of "Some People.." that was a real demo, but yeah it was a mistake and an old idea. I think the same YT User also posted up a version of "Mumbo" claiming it was a demo, but it sounded like a very bad acetate, he even said he had "demoes" of "Big Barn Bed" and "Live and Let Die", but they came off as rehearsals or outtakes, sorry for the delayed response and I hope this didn't come off confusing or too long. Thanks.

Back To The Egg Disc 1 - Original album Disc 2- 1. Goodnight Tonight 2. daytime Nighttime Suffering 3. Robbers Ball 4.Cage 5. Getting closer (Live in glasgow 79) 6.Again And Again And Again (Live in glasgow 79) 7.Old Siam Sir (Live in glasgow 79) 8. Spin It On (Live in glasgow 79) 9. Goodnight Tonight (Live in glasgow 79) 10. Rockestra ( live at the people for Kampuchea) 11.Goodnight tonight (12") 12 goodnight tonight (summer time 1980) Dvd- Back To the Egg tv special (Including So Glad To See you here And Rockestra Theme) the Remainder of the live gig at the people of Kampuchea
let's all discuss the bonus for flaming pie and wings over america
I think there's an idea in the can of just releasing the whole Apollo Theatre/Glasgow 1979 Concert on it's own with audio and video of the whole Wings Kampuchea set from that time, I only see the Back to the Egg and Rockshow Specials/Videos being added for the DVD and hopefully more than I or all us know. I don't think "WOA" will have a bonus audio disc, IF so, then it should either include interviews having to do with the Wings Tours from the Late '75 - 1976 period or selections from that Melbourne Concert from November 1975 since I doubt a lot will be added to the reissue for "V&M". As for the "Flaming Pie" reissue, here is what I want to be included for the possible bonus disc...: Disc 1: Original CD Tracklisting Disc 2: Bonus Audio: 1. Looking For You 2. Broomstick 3. Beautiful Night (Backing Track) 4. Flaming Pie (The Oprah Winfrey Show Performance) 5. Young Boy (The Oprah Winfrey Show Performance) 6. Calico Skies (Live at the Osaka Dome, Osaka, Japan - 2002) 7. Flaming Pie (Live at Glastonbury Festival - 2004) Sorry if I didn't add much in, I just think since the belief of the PM Archive Collection is to release LITTLE from the vaults, I think this is what it *could* turn out to be, if you want more interesting audio documents to be added instead let me know, I believe the "OJ" CD Audio Segments will be released and collected on their own. I also note there was a solo orchestra piece on it's own for I believe "Beautiful Night" that's been bootleged, but I didn't include for my idea list, since it had more to probably do with someone else than Paul *probably* composing it. I also heard a demo of "Flaming Pie" exists, too, so maybe see that in a future release.

Well we got the insert in the new releases show what's coming soon V&M WATSOS WOA Ram In that order. So hopefully if they moved Ram to the end we get the 3 Wings albums all at the same time in September or so, then for the Christmas market release Ram, and Ram would include an insert with the next 6 releases. Then we could start the new year with a new batch of remasters.
I really do hope they start releasing them with more than 2 at a time. I too feel they will release those 3 together because WOA is pretty much from a tour supporting those 2 albums. You get the 2 albums and then a live album featuring those songs live and pretty much the best of everything else that came before them. I expect those in October and RAM maybe around Christmas if we are lucky. I hope this is whats coming and then we start 2012 with reissues of wild life and red rose!!
I'm not so sure if that arrangement is when each reissue will come next, from seeing that said PM Archive Collection Release List Plan, I *really* believe Ram should be out sometime in late 2011, since it's an important album and it could fit with it's 40th Anniversary year, I'm also sure that reissues of "V&M" and "WOA" will also come very soon, since those albums are not on any digital music store now (to my belief since I can't find any of them on iTunes), and ditto with "WATSOS", I hope they all are released at the same time, because whether sales are good or not, these reissues need to be out soon! However if that Reissue Release Plan List is pretty legit, then I believe more 3~5 reissued album bundles will come out more since one release date year for one album "Chaos..." is said to be in 2014, so more should come, and I am positive at least "V&M" and "Ram" will come out around the same time period. How long can it take to assemble a "deluxe" version of "WATSOS"!?!? There's little material to add to it! :

... Disc 2: Non-Album Singles, Rehearsals, and Outtakes: 1. Lunch Box/Odd Sox (As "Paul McCartney and Wings") 2. My Carnival (As "Paul McCartney and Wings") 3. Juniors Farm 4. Sally G 5. Walking in the Park with Eloise (As "The Country Hams") 6.. Bridge on the River Suite (As "The Country Hams") 7. Junior's Farm (1974 "One Hand Clapping" Performance) 8. My Carnival (12" Party Mix by Gary Langan) [As "Paul McCartney and Wings"] 9. Letting Go (Single Mix) DVD Listing: 1. Venus And Mars Commerical 2. Junior's Farm (One Hand Clapping)
You know I think they'll add in MUCH MORE to the DVDs since most of them in the "PM Archive Collection" have at least eight videos, whether newly made or not. Still good list, though seeing how in that said Reissue Plans, it said that each reissue would have at least 2-3 unreleased tracks, so I can see a few things in (No, I don't think the "OHC" performances should count.) So hopefully they'll add in outtakes or a live version of Jimmy's "Medicine Jar", since the Outtake Box Sets will have more songs with Paul singing, and one "V&M" Outtake, than a Nashville 1974 Session Track. I heard several of the "Nashville 1974 Session" tracks will be included in a Bonus Disc for one of the future releases under the name "Country Hams and Surprises" with the reissues and remasters of the "McGear" album and "Holly Days". Oh, and don't forget there is also live footage and audio out there of the Wings Concert from Melbourne 1975, so some or all of it should be included on the DVD, but these are just suggestions, still good job.

Someone on the Steve Hoffman forums said that in the latest issue of Mojo, they said that the next album to be remastered will be 'Ram' with one disc being the promo Mono mix. So hopefully this will becoming out fairly soon if Mojo already has the news.

Yes, this looks good for a release this side of Christmas! The exact quote:
McCartney was followed by Ram, credited to Paul and Linda to ease cash flow, as all his income was being held up by lawyers. That's next in the reissues programme, boosted by its desirable mono mix.
-
Is there enough difference in the mono/stereo mixes to actually feel excited about the mono being released? I haven´t heard the monomix so I don´t know what the fuzz is about. Will there be a 3 cd/1 dvd set? cause there are quite a few unreleased songs from 70-71.
-
"Stereo" is great for your headphones or your surround-sound stereo. But mono is good if say you don't have surround sound, or just one audio outlet for your music. How many people have whined that every subsequent CD release was never as good as the Vinyl? (I've never heard the Ram mono mix myself, but I'm intrigued beyond rationality by the idea.) EDIT - So where does "Another Day" and the outtakes go?
-

On the list that we have seen posted by etsetra, 'Ram' was said to have a 3CD/1DVD package, so on the other disc they could include 'Another Day' and 'Oh Woman Oh Why' and then some of the unreleased material.

The other tracks could go on the disc with the mono mix? Have the album proper on disc 1, and the mono mix + other bonus tracks as disc 2?
-
Just to say MOJO said "Ram will be next in reissue series. Boosted by desirable mono mix " it doesn't actually say there will be a mono mix

I think if the rumors are true and the PM Archive Collection Deluxe Edition of "Ram" has three discs and one DVD, then I believe the original album will be issued on one CD, the second CD will probably not have "Ram" in Mono, but the Another Day single, the Bip Bop/ Hey Diddle Medley, Little Woman Love (a new rumor is out that it's a "Ram" Outtake), and a few unreleased outtakes/demoes, and etc. I believe the "third disc" HAS to be the Mono Mix of "Ram", As for the rumor of it being "Thrillington", I'm skeptic of it being released with the "Ram" reissue, because I believe Paul arranged that version of the album, not played on it, and as for that said list of reissues it's possible things will change and "Thrillington" CAN be released on it's own, if there are no legal issues involved like with "McGear" said to be issued soon. Though it is possible to issue the mono mixes and the non-album material on one disc if Thrillington will be included without anything on that disc with it.
-
Hmm. If there's 3 Cds and a DVD in the Deluxe, what do you think will come with the Special? I can't afford the Deluxe versions so I'm buying the Specials.

I bet the special editions of 'Ram' will he Disc 1-Remastered Album, then Disc 2-Singles,Demos, and Out-takes. And with or without a DVD. The mono mix is for the hardcore fans who will be paying for it in a deluxe set. With 2 CDs in the special package you don't want the same album for the most part.
-
Proobably right. I'd like the Mono mix as well Wait and see, I guess

James Paul McCartney was done during the Red Rose Speedway era and had songs like "Big Barn Bed" and "My Love" on it, so I'm assuming it'll go with that album.

Etcetera posted this on another forum .. little while ago and I though it was interesting and share it with everyone here. Some infos about the enormous project, with 50 + deluxe sets : . "First, each deluxe set will have a great amount of bonus stuff, mainly already bootleged stuff but in excellent condition for the reissue ( only 2 or 3 unknown gems per sets ), the unknown stuff will be reserved for the wonderful box sets which will finished the reissue program. The quantitity of bonuses will be linked to the " non " success of the disc at the time : in other words , press to play and driving rain will be full of bonuses. All the b sides and remixes will be included, even it will contain 7 mixes of the same track . The reissues will be spread from 2010 to 2016. Run devil, chaos and driving will be first reissued simply( just to fill the space in records shops ) but will have a deluxe treatement in 2014 . All the titles not yet published but revealed will appear on the cloud or on the last great sets; " Cavendish Parade " has been copyrighted with a different title, because of the refrence of the actual McCartney Home in London . Some deluxe sets will be made in very low quantity and sell only on the mccartney site, and will become very high collectable items. At this stage, the mcgear holly set has some legal problems to be accepted because of the mixing of mike and Paul vocal tracks for the same songs ; Here is the deluxe schedule with hopes, including dvd archives and linda's archives. At the same time, the cloud will show up things at any time ... 4 Ram 3 cds 1 dvd 5 Venus & Mars 2 cds 1 dvd 6 Speed Of Sound 2 cds 1 dvd 7 Wings Over America 2 cds 2 dvds 8 Linda McCartney Wide Prairie 2 cds 2 dvds 9 Wild Life 2 cds 2 dvds 10 Red Rose Speedway 2 cds 2 dvds 11 London Town 2 cds 1 dvd 12 Back to the egg 2 cds 1 dvd 13 Wings Live 1979 2 cds 1 dvd 14 Tug Of War 2 cds 1 dvd 15 Pipes Of Peace 2 cds 1 dvd 16 Give my regards 3 cds 2 dvd 17 Press To Play 4 cds 1 dvd 18 Choba B CCCP + Prince Trust 2 cds 1 dvd 19 McGear / Holly Days / Whippets / Country Hams and Surprises 4 cds 20 Flowers In The Dirt 3 cds 1 dvd 21 Tripping The Live Fantastic 3 cds 2 dvds 22 Unplugged 2 cds 1 dvd 23 Off The Ground 3 cds 2 dvds 24 Paul Is Live 2 cds 2 dvds 25 The Fireman Vol1 & 2 ( Strawberry + Rusches ) 3 cds 1 dvd 26 Oobu Joobu , liverpool collage, Daumier's Law and crazy stuff 3 cds 1 dvd 27 Flaming Pie 2 cds 2 dvds 28 Run Devil Run 2 cds 1 dvd 29 Driving Rain 2 cds 1 dvd 30 Back In The US / World 3 cds 1 dvd 31 Chaos & Creation in The Back Yard 2 cds 2 dvds 32 Memory Almost Full 2 cds 1 dvd 33 Electric Arguments 3 cds 1 dvd ( reissue ) 34 Liverpool Oratorio 3 cds 2 dvds 35 Standing Stone 3 cds 2 dvds 36 Working Classical / A Leaf 2 cds 1 dvd 37 Ecce Cor Meum 2 cds 1 dvd 38 The Studio Outtakes 1970 / 1989 4 cds 39 The Studio Outtakes 1990 / 2014 4 cds 40 The Rude Studio Recordings 1970 / 1997 4 cds 41 The Demos 1960 1979 4 cds 42 The Demos 1980 2016 4 cds 43 The rare live recordings, soundchecks and rehearsals 4 cds ... You won't be dissapointed but this vast and ambitious program, and the 2 new sets in June will be a pleasure for real fans as us" Alright so now you've read it. Because of Etcetera previous posts I'm not believing this post to much. But if this was true, let's talk about what would fill each disc.
Whatever I've highlighted in bold, underlined or italics is what I will talk about. Wow, sorry if this feels late and the timing is wrong, but boy am I shocked as to what is going on with the Paul McCartney Archive Collection and seeing there is much more *probably* going on than meets the eyes, ears and etc., However I do question several things if anyone wants to talk about them with me or if someone later on from Hear Music, MPL or Etcetera can ever address what I'm about to say... Question #1 Why does this have to end by 2016!?!? Is it going to be that long for the remastering, planning, marketing, packaging & etc. to be done!?!? Don't get me wrong, I know certain tapes and masters show up here and there like those "Ram" demoes, but why the long wait!?!? Can't they just put the stuff recently discovered in the said Macca Anthology Box Sets?! Will someone other than Allan Rouse look into mastering the albums, too!?!? Is the end date leaning toward 2016 because of the legal issues of getting Mike McCartney and Denny Laine's two albums out!?!? Why wait, shouldn't MPL get more help? Question #2 Why do the proposed deluxe versions of "Red Rose Speedway" and "Wild Life" say they will have two DVDs?!? Isn't there enough room to put all of the video footage from '72-'73 on one DVD since they usually hold up 2 hours, I thought the JPM Special was only 50 minutes with several promos out there along with somewhat of live footage. Also what could be added that can't fit on one DVD for "Wild Life"? There's very little material to do with the 1971-1972 period that would go into one DVD having to do with the songs from that period. Fans! Should a Macca Video Anthology be out to hold what wasn't properly transfered the first time like the "stretched" Music Videos or the bad looking EDITED version of "OHC"!?!? I thought there was a boot with superior pic quality? Question #3 I know "Red Rose Speedway" wasn't the most successful album but seeing how it's said there will be one box set of Live Material, shouldn't the "Deluxe Version" of "RRS" include a Disc with Live Tracks at least from the August 1972 Wings Concerts like that performance of "Best Friend" and even "Cottonfields", I mean if there isn't another Live Box Set said to be out, why not add a live disc with the deluxe version of "RRS"? Besides it can't have two DVDs from the videos I've seen they can all fit on one DVD to my belief, I wish Hear Music/MPL will re-consider how to reissue "RRS". Question #4 Can Thrillington be released on it's own? I know some of the albums to be reissued might end up being site exclusives and be limited, but can "Thrillington" be released on it's own even if there isn't video or any outtakes having to do with the album? I bet it could be released on the deluxe "Ram" reissue, but people want the mono album (maybe on it's own for fidelity reasons) and a disc of misc. tracks on their on, Right? Question #5 I thought little material was done at that Prince's Trust Concert? Also I thought those performances were (Hate it or Love it? Situations), that and shouldn't performances of songs from I believe 1986 be included with "Press to Play" since it's rumored that it's reissue will have much bonuses, besides I'm sure there were outtakes from "Choba B CCCP" from what I've heard, but if it's done to fill time, I say what the hey! Question #6 I thought there wasn't much material from the "Give My Regards.." period, why should it have another disc, discs can hold up to 79 minutes, why waste discs if little else could be released, all I know is there are several outtakes and mixes of "No More..", what else is there to issue with the deluxe version of "GMRTBS"!?!? Also I know DVDs can hold up to two hours and it's seems obvious the movie will be issued with the album in the deluxe set, but can a Bluray disc of the MOVIE "Give My Regards.." be issued in the deluxe version along with whatever like that said Parkinsons Interview, the videos of "No More Lonely.." and "So Bad", and that "Making-Of" video? I mean the Movie was filmed on some nice cameras it be good to utilize something new, right? Just for a few deluxe versions, maybe include a Bluray, I know they didn't give McCartney I + II and BOTR Bluray discs of the DVDs but that could be excused, right? Question #7 Will the deluxe version of "Press to Play" include both the "Hugh Padgham" Mix and the "Bert Bevans and Steve Forward" Mix of the album for completist reasons? It'd be a good decision if the idea to reissue a deluxe version for :sigh: "PTP" to include both mixes of the album if some parts are pretty different (Are they?) Question #8 What's the "Whippets" CD or DVD that's said to be included with a reissue including the Holly Days album and the McGear album? Is it going to be video material or just outtakes from the sessions from those two albums or what!?!? I never ever heard of "Whippets" having to do with Wings or Paul is it a Mike or Denny thing, can someone explain this for me? Also if there will be a disc including Country Hams or/and Nashville 1974 session songs, will the Country Hams single and the Junior's Farm single be included with the "V&M" deluxe reissue I mean discs hold up to 79 minutes why waste space? Besides most come from the same recording period ('74-'75). Question #9 While certain tours have had albums covering those periods and even a possible future release covering the "pretty full length" version of Wings concerts from December 1979 will be out on it's own, will there be another said live and soundcheck recordings box out, I can't see MPL/Hear Music shoving everything in especially from all the different time periods. Question #10 Can all of the Oobu Joobu material be included on one disc!?!? That reissue including it with the Liverpool Collage sounds like it'll be a pretty small release compared to the said reissues of "Give My Regards.." and "Press To Play", so what could happen, will it include just highlights or ?? Oh, and will any of the songs played in the "Oobu Joobu" sessions be included in full length in the deluxe reissues or just in the box sets!? Question #11 Shouldn't a Box Set be out to include instrumentals, karaoke versions or plain backing tracks of Paul/Wings songs? Also shouldn't Box Sets be out including remixes, alternate mixes, acetates, and early mixes of Wings/Paul songs be out to seeing how limited the bonus discs are coming off now? I'm sure some what like "Blue Sway" "Mr. H Atom" and "You Know I'll Get You.." without the segues and etc. Right? Question #12 Why would you consider material from the future like in 2014 and in 2016 "outtakes" or "rarities"?!?! Those are my questions I ask if anyone especially from MPL or Hear Music can look into if any of the previous information is true, also anyone hear can say something if you want, I'm just shocked, happy, annoyed, but very questionable of what could happen. :
