Could the new Kanye/McCartney single All Day be his best?
-
Tell that to those who made the song.

Already Number 1 http://noisey.vice.com/blog/kanye-west-all-day-number-one
Just to be clear, this is a chart that measures how much songs are being talked about on Twitter. It's not the Hot 100 or any sort of measure of sales, radio play or streaming.

I can't imagine it can be played on the radio unless he recorded a different version.

Honestly, I don't understand why people are referring to this as Paul's big new single. Firstly, you can barely hear him singing, as if he was to sing too loudly, people would recognize his age , and it wouldn't appeal to teenagers and young adults. I feel as though this is rather ageist. His organ playing and guitar is pretty good though, but if it wasn't for that I'd almost forget that Paul was part of the song...

Me and my friends listened to the blues and traditional country as well as Prince and Madonna when we were teenagers in the 80s. Rock & roll, synth pop and Frank Sinatra. All kinds of stuff, new and old music, young and old artists. Are youth now so narrowminded that you have be a 17 year old artist to captivate a 17 year old listener, or is it a narrow view of them?

How many "writers" did it take to come up with this piece of garbage? As for wannabe Paulie (hey, there's a great rapper name for him Paul E Wannabee) one word: coattails. I be off now to watch my bent grandad busta cap some bo janglin' bizzle befo' the boyz suss he be a wanksta. Yo!

There is a clean version that's being played on the radio, and it can be bought through iTunes.

Anyone got a link? I won't listen to the other version

Sounds like you're talking about Only One and Four Five Seconds, not All Day!

Maybe i'll be surprised but I don't see this one being a big hit - at least on the Hot 100. i could see it being #1 on the Hip-Hop/Rap chart though. Of the 3 collabs so far this is by far my least favorite. Nice to hear Macca whistle and sing at the end, but the first 4 min of the song are useless to me and have no redeeming qualities for me personally. FourFiveSeconds is an excellent pop song - not surprising since its a Macca melody - Kanye has talked publicly that Macca wrote the tune -that it was beyond his musical knowledge. Only One had potential but is ruined for me by overuse of autotune and under production. This is doing well on iTunes - but so did Only One. I expect the charting to be similar. Maybe a little better since it is more in Kanye's fanbase wheelhouse - but I doubt it charts anywhere neat FourFiveSeconds which rebounded back up to #5 this week based on increases in radio play and streaming. I've listened to this song twice and doubt i'll listen to it again. RamblinRed

Yes, I would think it will chart somewhere in between the other two songs. It's a bit hardcore for heavy Top 40 airplay. It was a solid number one for a few days on iTunes, but now it's fallen behind "FourFiveSeconds."
-
Weren't people saying the same about rock and roll in the 50's? It isn't a bad song. FourFiveSeconds is pretty damn catchy. Good on you Paul.
-
Well, it had been fifty million years of silence in the thousands of homes, suddenly threatened rock & roll to tear down the house. Electricity... I don't think you can compare the 50s and 60s to now, it was a bit like revolutionary time. Not that I was there, but, as I see it...

It took collaborating with Paul McCartney to come up with this piece of sh-t?
-
Maybe this is good hip hop, but with a snippet of Paul McCartney pasted at the end, I think it is the least successful of their collaborations, so far?

Enough, Paul. Please. Seriously.

People don't seem too fond of his Michael Jackson collaborations either. But I like them. And I like these songs too. They're good, due to Paul's involvement no doubt

Even with Paul's involvement these songs do nothing for me. I am clearly not his audience in this collaboration.
-
I honestly thought Paul was better than all this. These days, for the first time, I am questioning my assessment of the situation. These "collaborations", the same old set list, the weak vocal performances... Maybe I'm overreacting, but it's all making me feel a little sad. I'm truly sorry to be so negative, but I just don't see the good in this. Not this time.
