The song selection of this gives me a Let It Roll songs by George Harrison feeling.

I looked up 2 tracks to try to get the answer but unfortunately they had no "sample" that you could hear. They were: With a Little Luck - are you going to get the album track or the single (edited) track
'With A Little Luck' is the DJ Edit. 'No More Lonely Nights' is going to be the 7" version.
_______________________________________________ Thanks Kestrel. That's disappointing regarding "With a Little Luck". I love the longer original album version by far the best.
So let me get this straight. Paul includes the well-over 4 minute DREADFUL song 'Bip-Bop', but cuts classics such as 'With a Little Luck' to below that length??? As I said before, if Paul has a Marketing guy making these decisions, Paul should fire him!

It does make you wonder sometimes what the heck they are thinking with these decisions.

Bip Bop is excellent - I'm glad it is at last getting some well-deserved attention.

As far as I'm concerned, the DJ edit version of With a Little Luck and the full version are two different songs...one that sucks (DJ edit) and one that is great (the full version)...Although it's not built in the same vein as songs such as Band on the Run, Uncle Albert, one of the Abbey Road medleys (where smaller songs or snippets were put together to form a greater sum), it almost feels like that when some parts are taken away from With A Little Luck

Totally agree. With a Little Luck (album version) is an innovative use of synth-pop, that was still in its early stages in the late 70s. Totally missing that vibe in the edit.

But a few sound bytes are available for everyone, I think. It's the same ol', same ol', but there's something classic in the first bit. What's his favourite song from all 67 on 'Pure McCartney'? The answer is very, very telling, woah Laughing.
does McCartney really spoke about the SONG "Disctraction" : I must say I'm confused! Fine he remembers that song but it isn't on pure mccartney right?

Interesting. I always thought the full-length version meandered for way too long, and just found it tedious.

The name of Paul's new punk side project. In all seriousness I will be surprised if this reaches the top 30 or top 20 in the US. I like to see Paul succeed but there's not a lot for most people to buy here (this coming from someone who is buying this).

Argh, just received info today from my Danish provider that they can't deliver Pure McCartney to me because it is sold out. I ordered it months ago and they didn't notify me until today. Maybe it's because I ordered the 4 CD version. They are not even able to give me a new delivery date.
-
okay, they told me now that the cd's weren't even delivered to them yet, so I guess that's fair.
-
-
Just got mine. I was one who was less than excited because I already own it all, but for the more casual fan, this will be a very nice compilation. The packaging is nice, and 4 CDs in the package for about $30 is pretty nice.

The album getting mixed reviews on Amazon. It could have been so much better with stronger song selection. A wasted opportunity.

I don't know. I think we would all complain to a certain extent whatever the song selection was; there isn't going to be pleasing everyone with it. I guess I am just accepting that it isn't really geared toward the hard core fans (most of us on this site), but more to a casual fan, and I think it serves as a pretty solid introduction to his post-Beatles catalog.
