Rare concerts (Part 1: 1970-1999)

Has anybody more information, audio, video, photos of these concerts ? Top Of The Pops (1973) Wedding Eric Clapton and Patricia Boyd (1979) For Eric Clapton and Pattie Boyd's wedding reception, they placed a stage in the middle of their garden for music. The stage was suppose to be for a little reunion concert of the Beatles. However, either John Lennon got sick in the US a couple days earlier, or he never got invited due to personal reasons, but he didn't go to the nuptials, so Harrison, McCartney and Starr took the stage. They were later joined by Clapton with a reformed Cream, Mick Jagger and legend has it that the likes of Elton John and David Bowie also joined in on the jamming. The set list is unknown, but rumored songs have included "Sgt. Peppers", "Magical Mystery Tour", Little Richard and Eddie Cochran songs. Ringo Starr's Wedding Party (1981) Harry Nilsson, George, Olivia, Paul and Linda are guests at the wedding of Ringo and Barbara Bach. The 70 guests then attend a reception at the Mayfair club Rags, where an all-star jam session takes place, featuring George on guitar, Paul and Nilsson alternating on piano and Ringo sharing teaspoon percussion with Ray Cooper. Also today, it is officially announced that Wings have split up Elstree Studios (1982) The disgruntled fans are then told they will not be needed for another two hours. At 4pm the fans are treated to a mini-concert by Paul, including performances of "Bo Diddley", "Peggy Sue", "Send Me Some Loving", "Reelin' And Rockin'", "Lucille", "Twenty Flight Rock", "Searchin'" and the instrumental theme tune to the American cops drama series "Hill Street Blues". Before the show begins, Paul introduces the band. "George Martin on electric piano, Richard (Ringo) on drums, a Steve Gadd look-alike butler on drums, Eric Stewart on lead guitar, The Q-Tips brass section, our Lin' on tambourine and my name's Fred." During a break, someone asks Ringo to sing and he delivers a few lines of "Yesterday". At this point, George Martin starts to play the tune on his piano but Paul resists all temptations from the excited crowd to join in with the others. Instead, he tells Martin to "carry on entertaining us", and sings a brief snippet of "Here, There And Everywhere". At its conclusion, Linda delivers a short version of "Maybe I'm Amazed". A Wings Fun Club member records the performance on a portable cassette recorder, but keeps the cassette to herself, it doesn't circulate. Halfway Station Concert (1986) During the shooting, in front of 180 highly excited extras, Paul leads the band into performances of "Fortune Teller", "Love Is Strange", "Tequila", "Cactus Club" and, naturally, "Stranglehold". Buddy Holly Week (1987) At the Dolphin Brasserie during the annual MPL promoted Buddy Holly Week, an impromptu jam session takes place featuring Paul performing with Alvin Stardust, Mick Green (former member of Johnny Kidd and The Pirates) and the DJ Tony Prince. They perform "What'd I Say", "Mean Woman Blues" and "Twenty Flight Rock". Guests in the audience include Twiggy, Jonathan Ross, Adam Faith, Faye Dunnaway, Anne Diamond, Mike Rutherford of Genesis, Joan Collins and her husband "Bungalow" Bill Wiggins. The Roxy (1987) Working with the director Gavin Taylor, Paul videotapes a mimed performance of "Once Upon A Long Ago". This clip, in front of an audience featuring 150 school children, is intended for inclusion in the new Tyne-Tees/ITV pop show The Roxy, a programme hosted by the DJ David Jensen. During the taping session, Paul also performs impromptu instrumental versions of "Ob La Di, Ob La Da", "C Moon", "What'd I Say" and "Sailor's Hornpipe". Ivor Novello Award (1989) Paul sang "Ivor Novello Rap" Fuera de serie (1989) Buddy Holly Week (1992) Paul participated in the yearly Buddy Holly Week celebration on September 9th in London. He sang an impromptu medley of 'Rave On' and 'Oh Boy!' with guitarist Big Jim Sullivan, Willie Austin (Vocals), Andy Crossheart (Bass) and Malcolm Mortimer (Drums) along with "vocalist" Gary Glitter. Later he sang 'Mean Woman Blues' and 'Shake, Rattle And Roll' with Linda, and Hamish along with Gary Glitter, Leo Sayer, Allan Clarke. Mick Green. Henry Spinetti, Chrissie Hynde, and Tony Prince. Tapes of this performance have not yet surfaced. Buddy Holly Week (1995) Paul celebrated the twentieth anniversary of MPL's Buddy Holly Week by hopping on stage at the Shepherd's Bush Empire to sing 'Rave On' (without an instrument) joining the Crickets, Carl Perkins, and Bobby Vee. Rooftop Concert (1997) Sadly unused in the documentary was footage filmed during an impromptu rooftop concert held at Paul's Soho Square MPL offices on April 11th. Macca performed 'The World Tonight' and 'Young Boy' on acoustic guitar, but unlike the Beatles' similar efforts from January of 1969 for Get Back/Let It Be, the footage did not cap off this documentary (though Baker made certain the world's press was made aware of this event, as it was reported around the world).

Top of the Pops was a BBC TV show, so this wasn't a concert but a one-off performance of a chart hit.
The performance (probably mimed) was recorded on Wednesday 4th April 1973 for showing on Top Of The Pops the following evening.

Not sure if this may be what you're looking for, but this is Wings on "Top of the Pops" November 15, 1973, they're performing "Helen Wheels"
If you go to the IMDB and check "Top of the Pops" for April 5, 1973 it doesn't list Paul McCartney & Wings among performers for that episode... (doesn't mean they weren't, may be an incomplete list) Wings from 1972 Top of the Pops "C Moon" "Hi Hi Hi" -

Supposedly this is an audio recording of George singing "Something" at Eric and Pattie's wedding reception, 1979... Really feel for George here... must not have been easy to sing this song at his ex-wife's wedding, considering the words involved....

Gotta agree there. It sounds more like karaoke. It's definitely a backing track of the album version too. It sounds a bit like George but he's so out of tune I'm not sure. Could be pretty drunk, I suppose?

Thanks, guys, I wondered about the video of George singing "Something" at Pattie & Eric's wedding, that's why I wrote "supposedly". The uploader didn't give his source for where he got it. Thought if enough people listened to it, they could give their opinion on whether it's authentic or not
It could have been two tracks (instrumental and George singing the song in a different key at another time) that were blended together. -

uhhhhhh no (I think the You Tuber is fibbing) I once asked Pattie Boyd if she could remember any details from the performance at her wedding, sadly she remembered nothing. It's crazy that no real details ever came out.

Eric's wedding. Lonnie Donegan there in that pic and he joined them for few verry ragged sounding songs: Cumberland Gap, Putting On The Style, etc.
