I think the nearest Target is in Australia. We have a BestBuy, but it's not the one you're thinking. I buy most of my physical CDs from the Tower Records in Tokyo.

___________________________________________ I didn't want to pay over a $100. for all the extras. I'm more into the music. Don't know about Tower Records but if you're like me (where money is tighter) Tower may also have a great price on the 2 Disc set. Plenty worth it for the 2nd Disc.

Tower is reasonable. I got Paul Simon's Stranger To Stranger for less than 2,000 yen.

You're welcome. I haven't heard the reissue at all. I play the original every once in a while. It's definitely one of my top 24 favorite McCartney albums.

First and foremost, Paul Simon rocks deep and hard. I paid maybe 1878 yen, so about US$17ish. It will be lower when it's not as new. Graceland is less than Y(w/lines)900/$8.

Graceland a BRILLIANT album. Took me a long time to get into it, but love it. My favorite song is still the commercial one, however. ... You Can Call me Al. Simple but very funny video. Lots of great stuff on the album.

Where is the Sun? and Motor of Love bring the album down a notch. Understand the need for the latter cos Paul was always looking for the "power ballad"... as was I.... always wanted one of those on his 80's albums... loved Through Our Love and even Only Love Remains has its moments.... but Motor of Love doesn't do the job. Put it There a great song. I could see it on the White Album. My Brave Face is great melody. Some good stuff on this album. Fond memories. But as I've said before, I believe Veronica is the best of the Paul and Elvis C collaborations.

Agree with you on Motor of Love especially with the production and length. I actually liked Only Love Remains a lot. Agree totally about Put It There...one of Paul's best Solo songs of all time. I also think that Distractions, We Got Married, This One, Figure of 8, and two of the collaborations (My Brave Face and That Day is Done) are great songs too. That being said, FITD was a good to very good album. As I said, the last 2 tracks keep it from being a great album in my opinion. Did you pick up the New Remaster with Disc 2. You lost me with "Where is the Sun". What are you referring to.

I love Flowers in the Dirt for its variety of styles, its artistic diversity, its overall sound, his vocals, his lyrics. I'd love to hear the extras. I hope his new album features some of these attributes. I always loved "Motor of Love," truly appreciate it and find "Where is the Sun" very exciting and rousing in parts, don't care for some of its special effects which sound too heavy handed, it's in French (classy)
--I like that. The French lingo. "Too Many People" has a nice understated reggae islands sound, a great message, I like it more than some of y'all on this thread. But am not crazy over the moon about it. -

You're a good man, BJ. Enjoy your posts too. I haven't pre-ordered this time. Will wait for it to lob into our stores. Save myself the ridiculous freight fees, for the sake of a week (I have changed. In the old days I'd contact the manager and they'd sell me the album sitting in their warehouse a couple of days earlier) Not good that Paul doesn't tour here. But hey, I got lucky to see him a couple of times. At the best stadium in the MCG in Melbourne. Plus got inside Abbey Road for a special tour, which will always be very special to me. I don't expect to see Paul on these shores this year. Or any time soon. Where is the Sun? was my flippant translation of Ou Est Le Soleil....my three years of French at high school kicking in. Don't like that song much. Kinda the brother/sister song to "Pretty Little Head", which I also didn't like. I was surprised that Ou Est Le Soleil goes back to Wings days. That fleeting version sounds better.

I've found one really great use for Ou Est Soliel, that's in my iPod shuffle for when I'm working out. Flowers was my first Paul solo album, and also the first album I bought on CD. I was 16 or so. I would have it playing as I was drifting off to sleep. One night, as I was in and out of consciousness, I was startled back fully awake during the part in Ou Est when Paul shouts the refrain in a loud but deep voice. It took me a few seconds to realize it was the CD. It scared me so bad I wouldn't listen to it for years!

____________________________________________________ Maccasfangirl30, If you have misplaced your original FITD CD, I would recommend you invest in the 2 CD set at Best Buy or Target. Well worth the under $20 price considering the 2nd disc of Paul and Elvis Costello demos. 4 of the 9 songs were basically unknown to me and I like them all. I really like the diversity in Paul's music and maybe because I'm older, you really get it in FITD. `I have seen a few critics talk about the overproduction flaws in the album or not enough rock tracks, but I don't see it. I think most of the production is tastefully done and enhance the majority of the songs. I'm actually liking some of the songs ( Rough Ride, You Want Her Too, and Distractions) quite a bit better now than before. And the songs that I really liked before, I still like as much or more. As I said before, I really enjoy listening to the remaster album except for the last 2 tracks and that is just my personal opinion. Some people may like those tracks and I have to respect different opinions. But for me, if I have an album where I like or love the first 11 tracks (out of 13) I'm pretty happy.

Just listened to the new Deluxe Set, some really great demos and wow, I really am in love with this album again. Really liked one of Elvis and Paul, on The Lovers that Never Were... It is so raw and there is especially, a lot of emotion in that one. I think Elvis said that one was one of his favorites!!
Twenty Fine Fingers, and So Like Candy, really stick out, from the first listen of the demos, as favs... I think you will be very happy with the purchase, the demos had a rawness to them, that was substantial. That was something Elvis must have brought out in Paul...
