Questions for all... Who are the various people Paul is trying to imitate? One seems to be Buddy Holly.
According to Paul, he is supposed to be Hank Marvin from The Shadows (group that used to back Cliff Richard).
Is another that group called Kraftwork (I believe that is the name).
If you mean the guy with the slicked back hair and smaller mustache on keyboards, he is supposed to be Ron Mael from Sparks. I remember an interview with Paul where he said the drummer is supposed to be Animal from The Muppets.
Is that Paul standing next to Linda or is it someone else.
It's Linda. And I agree this is one of Paul's best videos. Another one of my very favorites is Press. Some friends found out he was filming on the London Underground that day and raced around trying to catch up to him, but they never did.
Yes Hank Marvin and Mael from Sparks. The drummer is Bonham, I believe. One of the horn players is the sax player from Roxy Music if I recall. This is also the first time he used a hofner for 10 years and it still had a setlist taped to it when he opened the case. The clip's impact for 1980 was immense - truly a marvel.
I always thought the drummer was supposed to be Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac!
Paul said in interveiws i've seen/read that the drummer is meant to be Keith Moon... but who knows - i think Paul changes his mind nowadays

I really liked the Early Days video
It was really nicely done! -
Here's some questions for those real "McCartney Heads" out there. I recently been listening to "Press to Play". Picked up a used original album at a record store. Not the 1993 Remaster unfortunately so I don't have the bonus cuts. I also remember seeing the video for Pretty Little Head years ago which I liked. But when I rewatched the video from this thread, this mix sounds quite different than what I have been hearing recently on the album track of Pretty Little Head. Actually, I think the video version is quite a bit better in my opinion. Can someone give me more information about the 2 different mixes. Here's what I have discovered on my own. *the video version is about 3:50 minutes long (I've accounted for the 11-12 seconds of "She's Leaving Home" in the beginning of the video). The album track is slightly over 5:00 minutes. *the video version also changes the lyrics slightly. There is no 4 repeats of the Hillmen line that is used 3 times in the album version; the ending of the album version has a long, repetitive Ursa, Major - Ursa Minor part that is not on the video version. *The video version uses a phrase at the end that i can't get. I think it ends in the words "take care". Anyway, I just like the video mix better and I like the fact that it is shorter and more cohesive. I'm still confused with the lyrics. My questions are: *Who are the Hillmen that are mentioned in both versions? *What does the part Ursa Major, Ursa Minor (used throughout) mean? *The actress in the video sure looks like Gabrielle Anwar. Is it her? I do think it is one of Paul's better video. The theme seems to be directed at young women and their need to be careful when they are alone in the world. Any thoughts on the video's theme.

Yes, it's her: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabrielle_Anwar

Ursa Major & Ursa Minor are constellations. "Hillmen" sounds like he's just talking about a group of men from many many years ago, like traveling nomads or something. http://www.bing.com/search?q=pretty+little+head+lyrics&form=PRHPCS&pc=HPDTDFJS&mkt=en-us&refig=4207bcc0c81842d19d9c4c2c107dc809&ghc=1&qs=AS&pq=pretty+little+head+&sk=AS3&sc=8-19&sp=4&cvid=4207bcc0c81842d19d9c4c2c107dc809 What the heck this song means I have no idea (and neither does Paul probably!)

What about We All Stand Together?
Does that not count or something? But otherwise nothing comes even close to Coming Up. -

Why not? It's in my top 2! Maybe it's just nostalgia but I love it and the video has much more to commend it than most of his vids.

To each his own. I have nothing against it, it just wouldn't be an obvious choice for most people imo.

The "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man" vid that features several different sets of dancers, I think they all danced the Irish "River Dance?"--and Paul appeared singing and playing guitar while he sauntered about, at intervals, was quite lively and entertaining. (Saw Lulu sing that with him in another vid, which was a blast.) And yes indeed he's a handsome man in these, except for the "brown eyes"--his eyes appear to change color He's got extraordinary peepers Unusually big eyes too.
-
He has hazel eyes which can at times appear brown or greenish.
-
Kylie Minogue sang "Dance Tonight" with Macca in a video clip from a Brit telly show, she danced a lively jig, got carried away. Macca had a ball. Fun entertaining video
-
Cavorting in the English countryside as a lad (foolish for nature nature boy) in early vid "Fool On the Hill" in which he was a "Fab Alone" and fabulous
-
Certain songs make me feel I'm flying...of course this is one of those videos...
-
My favorite has to be Pipes of Peace. Also enjoyed Mull of Kintyre and Waterfalls. -Rubber Soul13

Mine is Coming Up, it's so fun, Paul's really loose in the video having a ball. It's what made the song great for me. Very few videos make the songs actually better
-
Coming Up is really cool. I'm enjoying watching the Ebony and Ivory one (which has similarities to the Coming Up vid) as it's playing out at the moment on old Top of the Pops from 1982 on BBC4 in the UK. The video which has had the biggest affect on me though is the one of Linda's slides for Maybe I'm Amazed. They capture the time that the song was written about and recorded in. It shows an intimate and affectionate portrait of the the early days of their marriage and i think it is beautiful.
