Heck, I am excited about him coming to Pittsburgh and I don't live anywehre near you guys. It's just that this is a good thread you have going and the interstate connections from the South where I live are pretty easy, have never been to Pittsburgh (one of the few big cities I have never visited) and all of you seem like a great bunch of people. Plus, no way is he coming back to Atlanta so soon as he played it in August. I am thus primed to buy tickets when the show is announced. Keep up the great coverage, we are pulling for ya!
John, it's a great place to visit! Very unique because it's so different from other "big cities". And if you're into sandwiches... you must make it to Primanti Brother's... a must for any Pittsburgh visitor.

Looks like every other Hockey arena, what with the ice and all
We should call this the "Paul on Ice" tour. Even his Puerto Rican show tonight has a skating rink! http://www.etaiwannews.com/etn/news_content.php?id=1217817&lang=eng_news

Let's hope we get an announcement soon on more concerts after those in the UK in June.

I was thinking.. if Paul comes to open the Pens new arena, he better take that Detroit Red Wings sticker off his acoustic guitar (the one he uses to play Yesterday)

Haha, well he wouldn't take it off...but maybe use the acoustic he uses through the rest of the show? Or he'll be bold and won't care!

Yeah, it would be very unusual for them to only announce one, but apparently there can be up to three mexican dates so that might be it for now...

Somebody I know who lives by Pittsburgh was saying not too long ago that the next time I go to Pittsburgh I should go to Primanti Brothers...hopefully I'll have a chance to do that during the summer before a McCartney concert....!

Just received an email from Consol Energy Center, nothing too major. Lady Gaga tickets are going onsale Friday, but the new arena website is up and ready. http://www.consolenergycenter.com/ End Stage concert setup only holds 14,500, that is good compared to the 12,800 that the Mellon Arena holds. I know now that this will be a tough ticket if Paul comes here, not that I didn't know that already.

So I guess he will have to do two shows. On edit: What is your source for that figure, Matt? Most cite 18,000 as the capacity and concert seating should be greater yet.
Music fans take note: Consol Energy Center isn't all about hockey. "I fully expect the word to get out that this is a 'must stop' for concerts," Pittsburgh Penguins President Ken Sawyer said on a tour Wednesday of the Uptown arena's construction site. "Our lower bowl is a large size, so from a concert's point of view, they have more tickets they can sell at a higher price." Concert producers gravitate to indoor venues with plentiful front-row seats, state-of-the-art stage equipment and easy loading access -- advantages the 18,087-seat arena will have over smaller Mellon Arena, team and industry experts said.

Primanti Brothers is AWESOME!!!!

I'm going by this http://www.consolenergycenter.com/default.asp?consol=25&urlkeyword=Fun%20Facts The 18,087 is for hockey, compared to the 16,940 that the Mellon Arena offered. The Consol website says concerts set up in the end stage will hold an estimate of 14,500 compared to the 12,800 that the Mellon Arena held.
