What have you learned from this website?

Many of us have been fans since before this website existed, but many became fans only recently. Have those newer fans learned anything about Paul by participating here? Have the rest of us?

I've learned tons from my fellow boardies. Valuable details and insight.

I come here to learn about all appearances, tours, etc. and then to read the recaps of same. I learn about contests and enjoy reading rumors even if they are just rumors. I learn about Paul sightings. I learned about a fundraiser that Ringo participated in and won a pair of autographed boots from eBay as a result. I learned that there was a different, exclusive version of KOTB from this site. All in all I learn a lot and please keep the info. coming.

I think the thing I enjoy most is the different opinions of McCartney's music that I have read here. I have learned a bunch of stuff from links provided of interviews with McCartney and articles about him on this site.
-
I came here because I wanted to send one birthday greetings to Paul, but I discovered a lot of information, opinions, and funny things to do, like photos, polls, links, videos, etc...then, YES, I've learned...thanks all of you!

This is interesting. Many say that his interviews are all pretty much the same.

I may have learned more about posting photographs and videos from this site than anywhere else.

1. Travel tips about cities I went to see Paul in. 2. Pre-concert get togethers in said cities. Made new friends and put faces and actual names to other boardies. 3. Very valuable info on albums he is putting out. Just back in Feb., learned that Target had exclusive KOTB with bonus tracks. 4. Handy links to things on Youtube I probably never would have stumbled across. 5. Last, certainly not least, info on concert appearances usually appears here FIRST before full announcements on website or elsewhere.

Very good topic al Sabah...I've learned that lots of people like to post without knowing facts or the history of The Beatles, not even taking the time to look things up on the internet, and I have posted a lot of corrections. There are the "anti-fans" who pretend to love Paul while putting him down. I have seen posts which were personally insulting to him, unfactual posts about his music or his lifestyle, and I've found myself writing a lot of posts defending him since he isn't here to defend himself. And I've been attacked even ganged up on by those same "anti-fans" simply because I refuse to go along with the tone of a thread. This especially goes for setlist discussions, or threads about his age, which to me are a total waste of time. He is who he is, he will sing what he wants to sing, and we should be grateful he is still capable and wants to perform. Happy New Year! I think 2013 holds some amazing surprises from Sir Paul McCartney!

This forum just stirs the pot for me, points me at different Paul tunage to listen to. Good conversation. I probably drop a lot more knowledge than stuff I learn though. Because I'm a freaking music dork

well... I have un-idealized Paul McCartney (so John Lennon or Freddie Mercury). I mean, the more you know about him the more "flaws behind the legend"you find, the more human and the less of an idol or icon. A bit like when you like someone very much then get you to really know him/her then you realize he/she wasn't that perfect. And if you still like her/him then it's real love or so... And I think that's a very healthy thing to do, many people idealize their favourite musicians cause they just don't know much about them. They thing they can't do nothing wrong, because that "wrong" is not easy to see as the best part. Kind of like this Famous Singers: Embarassing / Funny Moments (On Stage) #1

I learned KOTB is the best jazz album since Kind of Blue by Miles Davis.

Why on earth would he want to read some of the total crap people have posted about him here!? I've learned that people have no manners whatsoever on a public forum website, and say things here they would never say to his face! It is awful to be a member here sometimes.
