@yankeefan2 I agree with everything that you said. One more thing is that nacy seems to have lightened her hair & it looks great.

Paul and Nancy look great. I love the off the shoulder look of the black top and the floral skirt on Nancy. The jewelry goes very well with her outfit. Maybe it is me but looks like she is letting her hair get even longer which I like. Paul looks very dapper, sometimes he can dress too casually for an event/party. I am not a fan of the "scruffy" look on him or any other man in the 80's. A guy can look good "scruffy" if they are in their 20's-40's. If Paul wants to have facial hair the grow the beard in fully.I just took a closer look at her skirt - wouldn’t call it floral. In fact, some of the designs look like bugs (beetles!) or amoebas!
I too agree with your other comments. (but I prefer clean-shaven to a full beard - the “scruffy” needs to go!) -
Only reason I said "floral" skirt was because that it was the article called it. I think you are probably right, and the article is wrong. Just shocking -lol. I agree clean shaven is better look on Paul but if you are going to have facial hair, do it right and let it fully grow in.

Happy Belated Birthday Nancy! Hope it was a good one!

Her birthday was Nov. 20th. She was born in 1959, so next year she’ll be eligible for Medicare!

Hate to say it but that is one of the worst pictures I have seen of Nancy. She usually looks fantastic and most of the time is quite photogenic. I hate the dress, makes her look frumpy.
-
@yankeefan2 I think the dress she's wearing could be a Stella McCartney or is from another high fashion designer.
On a positive note, I don't think there's ever been a time that Nancy hasn't looked absolutely perfect. It's obvious she gives a lot of time and preparation to her wardrobe and personal appearance, to always look her best, and is always prepared for any unexpected photo.
On seeing the photo below, however, taken on the same day, I'm not sure I'd have chosen to wear the same shoes. And the lighter hair color seems to wash out her face.
Maybe a darker brown if she doesn't want to have black hair? IMO don't think the dress is "frumpy" but I would have probably gone with high heel pumps in a blue or gray shade that goes with her dress.

Just difference of opinion. Go back a page and check out picture "Oobu24" posted of Nancy last August. She looks fantastic in black top (off the shoulder look) with white print skirt with slit. Shoes are black and match the outfit. Her hair looks great (color) , love it long and the style. There is another picture before that with Nancy and Paul with Stella, she is wearing very nice "beige" outfit and boots fit her outfit. Those two pictures she looks 100 times better than this picture with Kate. I don't care if it is a "Stella" dress, the print does nothing for me -lol.

@yankeefan2 Yes, she does look lovely in the other photo that Oobu posted. Not a fan of wearing boots with a dress, especially when it isn't winter... when you can get away with wearing the taller almost knee high boots, which are very fashionable. But the beige ones she wore when meeting Princess Kate would go well with that beige outfit... just didn't like them with the blue dress but she has a right of course to wear anything that she likes and makes her feel comfortable.
Her hair color does look good in that previous photo as well... I was thinking back to when her hair was a very light brown, almost blonde, and didn't think that was a flattering color for her. Now she's wearing a medium brown which is much better. As far as it being a Stella McCartney dress, or whoever designed it... it doesn't matter who created it, that wasn't the point.. just disagree that it's frumpy... I like the pattern and color of the fabric on the dress. Two women could buy the same dress but not everyone can wear the same dress well, if that makes sense. I didn't think it was a bad choice for Nancy though. Just thought the beige boots were kind of frumpy and didn't think they went with the coloring of her dress.
But Nancy always looks lovely and dresses very well -- I'm sure if she looked in my closet she'd probably have a lot to say about my wardrobe so I'll quit while I'm ahead

She dresses very well but like anybody some outfits are more flattering than others on her. If anybody checks this thread I have almost always loved how she has looked in pictures. I think she is very photogenic and at times over the years looked quite sexy. We will agree to disagree but I did not like that dress and how she looked.
I am no fashion "guru" but think I have a nice sense of style which tends to be a bit conservative. Being retired, I dress up much less than when I was working. My wife also has nice clothing sense, she knows what looks good on her and what does not. She is "vertically challenged" (lol) so long dresses/skirts are not a good look on her generally. My wife has told me that when women start going blonde at an older age it is because it covers up the grey hair better. Maybe that is why Nancy went blonde for a bit.

@yankeefan2 most importantly she's makes Paul happy, that's more important than what she's wearing.

Of course that's what important but we don't see that in pictures. So that leaves us to either like or dislike the clothing. And I don't care for that dress either.
-
Just to depart from that pic...here's another. Don't know when or where.
-
@oobu24 That photo was taken March, 2022 in Paris, for Stella's show at Paris Fashion Week. As you know already he usually goes every year, and don't think he's missed hardly any of Stella's fashion shows, he is very proud of her. The first one he went to was in 1998 with Linda just before she died.
@Yankeefan2 Seems like after I stopped working full time, everyday is "Casual Friday," so understand what you're saying. It's nice to go out somewhere occasionally though where you can dress up a bit. If I was a regular church-goer I'd never wear jeans or casual clothes to church. It's good you can give your wife a critical but kind eye as to what looks flattering on her. Sometimes we can't see what we look like from another person's point of view and at times that can be helpful and save embarrassment.
-
@ladyleslie okay guys....Paul loves her and that's should be enough. Stop bring so critical.
-
@oobu24 that's sad to judge her by her looks. Like teenagers at a party.

What? I gave an opinion on a dress. No way did I say anything to judge her.
-
@purple51 So sorry you were offended by the comments, but we didn't speak badly of Nancy as a person, and would never want to. In fact--- if you read closely, even though I may not care for a pair of boots she wore once, I've always tried to say something positive about her in every post here. She always looks lovely.
-
I offered mild criticism of one outfit and not of her personally. Do me a favor, go back a few pages on this thread and see all the times I have praised her outfits and noted how pretty she looks in a picture. I have called her very photogenic and some pictures she looks very sexy which is not easy to pull of when you get a bit older. In this thread, we all have mentioned that we love how supportive she is of Paul and gets along wonderfully with his children. Please note the title of this thread is the "Nancy Shevell Appreciation Thread". Does that sound like we don't like her? Really -lol
