The "Ram" Remaster Thread

It's cheaper on the canadian amazon site. http://www.amazon.ca/Ram-Paul-Mccartney-Linda/dp/B007L96VG0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334252582&sr=8-1 it's gone up a few dollars since I ordered it.
Since I live in the "Great White North" I just may pre order instead of waiting until the release date. $81.87 is a fair price w/ free shipping

Hey folks, it's dropped again on Amazon -- to $90!! I really hope it drops to $75 or $80. http://www.amazon.com/RAM-Deluxe-Book-Edition-1DVD/dp/B007L96VG0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334441673&sr=8-1 And thanks to that price, it's at No. 35 on the Amazon Top 100. And this is the most detailed description of the deluxe set I've seen:
This deluxe edition [4 CD / 1 DVD] contains the following: - Remastered Album - Bonus Audio CD - Remastered Mono Album on CD - Thrillington CD - Bonus Film DVD - 112-Page Side Bound Book - 5 8 x10 photos in vintage-style photographic wallet - 8 full size facsimilies of Paul s original handwritten lyric sheets - Mini photographic book of outtakes from the original album cover photo shoot - RAM Photo Flip Book - Free Download Card All housed in a beautiful, numbered fabric wrapped box. This item is a MUST for all McCartney Collectors.
-
Keep on dropping!

The tracklisting has been confirmed on PM.com. Here's something we didn't already know: " Two digital-only bonus tracks will be available via paulmccartney.com and iTunes: 1. Eat At Home/Smile Away (Live in Groningen, 1972) 2. Uncle Albert Jam"
-
I bet this will cause lots of moaning
Other content: 112-page book with 32 page scrapboook, 5 photo prints, wallet including facsimiles of Paul's handwritten lyrics and notes, mini-photographic book of outtakes from the album cover photo shoot, plus digital-only premium membership to paulmccartney.com.
-
It will if it means I get nothing for my £32 that I couldn't have got for nothing...

Interesting! Now why didn't they just put those on the 2nd disc?
-
Because then they'd have no hook to get you to buy directly...

This doesn't bother me. It's like anything else: If you buy the sweater early, you pay the full price, and then the people who hang back and wait for it to go on sale, get the same thing later for 50 percent off. That's the way it works. And besides, to get this membership, you'd have to buy a pretty pricey deluxe set and most people aren't going to do that. I am going to buy it, though! We all make our buying choices and I'm ridiculously excited about this one (while still hoping that Amazon lowers the price of the deluxe set by another $10 or $20.)
-
If you already have premium membership and you buy the deluxe version with free membership. Can you save it until your original membership runs out then renew for free.
-
$90 on amazon thats £58. But its £111 on the uk amazon site. Thats something to moan about.

Your analogy doesn't hold up: if I buy a sweater, I get a sweater. I bought exclusive membership to a "club" that has provided me with no appreciable benefit for being a member.

: Paul's site was static and boring before, and now there are all sorts of great features that weren't there before, including online access to all of Paul's music whenever you want to hear it. Has the site delivered on all its promises? Not yet, but then the site continues to be in "beta" and so technically your premium membership hasn't even started yet and you've been getting months of access to a developing site -- for free. The clock on our premium memberships doesn't start until the site is out of beta mode. So while they're still tinkering, we're getting the goods for nothing, and other than my own impatience at wanting more and wanting all the fancy do-dads on the new site to work, I see nothing to complain about yet.

I bet that price is just a placeholder. Seems like Amazon won't adjust its prices until Paul/Topspin/MPL puts its official prices up on Paul's site. I'm hoping the $90 drops to $70 or $80.

It must be coming soon since they just posted the track listings. And if the reissue is coming out May 21/22, they'd probably want to give us 3-4 weeks for a pre-order, right? So maybe they'll make the announcement about special pre-order offers later this week or early next. It's getting closer ...

Uncle albert jam??will be an outtake?or just a remix??

You would think so, yeah. They will want to give it a good few weeks notice. Especially the time and effort gone into it. Hopefully make an announcement in the next week like you say. I'm really excited about getting my deluxe Ram!!!!!!
