The "Ram" Remaster Thread

Yes, congradulations. Interestingly enough, my boyfriend and I had made a pact to get married this year a while ago. He then decided to get back with his ex-wife. He's still waiting for her to move here from across the country. He called me the other week and said, "I miss you. I want to spend more time with you. Maybe I made a mistake."' Uh huh.

We men just don't know what the hell we want. Not all of us can be like Paul.

Thought I heard somewhere that Jim Guercio helped mix RAM, or perhaps was a consultant on the project?

Paul didn't know what he wanted for a long time either. (Think how he treated Jane...taboo subject. If he had been my man, he wouldn't have enjoyed doing that at all)

Back to the topic: If Paul does any interviews to promote Ram, here some relevant questions that I would like SOMEONE to ask him, and to keep asking him until he ANSWERS: 1. Where are all the demos for Ram? And why did you not include some of those demos on the reissue? 2. Are you planning to release a box set of demos and unreleased tracks from your solo career? When? What years will it span of your career? 3. What are your plans for the next Wings reissues? What wings albums will be reissued next and when? 4. Will you be playing any Ram songs live to help promote the reissue? What about a one-time concert playing the entire album live -- with backup singers, full band, and orchestral musicians? 5. When the heck will you start selling some COOL T-shirts for Ram or for Wings on your Web site? T-shirts with the album covers on them, or some design that features song titles like "Ram On" or "Monkberry Moon Delight"? Couldn't you get Stella to design them for you (rather than just selling boring black tour T-shirts with your mug on them)? .... (The interviewer should probably ask this question more politely than I have. ) Are there other questions some journalist should ask him relating to the Ram reissue?

were there any tunes on it that were written while the Beatles we still active? when were this batch of songs on Ram written? What was the last song written for the album?
-
Good ones, Kapoo. Here's another: What is Monkberry Moon Delight really about? There seem to be lines in it that refer to John Lennon and the Beatles breakup. Is that true?

1. They were recently found in a box in Scotland I think - the archive collection's focus so far is not on demos - there are demo boxsets planned. 2. Yes, as part of this reissue campaign: The Studio Outtakes 1970 / 1989 4 cds The Studio Outtakes 1990 / 2014 4 cds The Rude Studio Recordings 1970 / 1997 4 cds The Demos 1960 1979 4 cds The Demos 1980 2016 4 cds 3. Venus and Mars and Wings at the Speed of Sound are up next, plus Wings Over America. Not sure when, hopefully this fall. 4 & 5 I cannot answer. Yours, Paul McCartney.

Yes, but Paul has never commented himself on any of that. It's all just Web speculation. I want Paul to explain why he's taking this approach. Plus I want to know WHEN they are being released. Dates, man! And the question for Paul is: What is the philosophy behind doing the demos in a separate box set? Why not include the demos with the relevant album?
-
Getting "Venus and Mars", "Wings at the Speed of Sound" and "Wings Over America" in one go would be GREAT!! But it took us this long to get "Ram" (and "Ram" by itself) so I'm not too optimistic.

I think it is reasonable to expect all of these. It would be wise for him to release these three together consider it is the same lineup on both albums, and the Tour documented on the live album is in support the material on the albums.

I heard from my friend in the Record Biz( May NOT BE TRUE!!) , Venus And Mars and Speed Of Sound NEXT .....Fall 2012...we shall SEE..
