If you already have premium membership and you buy the deluxe version with free membership. Can you save it until your original membership runs out then renew for free.
Thought the membership was "on hold" till the site came out of beta anyway wasn't it?

It is.But if you buy the deluxe and get free membership. Will there be a time limit on registering the free membership or will it be a waste because i already have paid for membership, whether it has started or not.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt to build things up, but this is a real stab in the back.

Good question Gary one that maybe needs clarification

How? It's a freebie they're throwing in to the expensive deluxe edition. Loads of sites do that. You're buying an expensive product from the artist, they add in membership to the artist's web site. Did you think they were never going to offer membership deals ever again? This is the problem, though, with setting up a premium membership. People are forever complaining about what they're not getting for the money. Because we all expect everything on the Web to be free, and it isn't.
-
Wow. The deluxe package sounds amazing. Its the only way to go. I'd buy the UBER-Deluxe if Macca would throw in some early Ram demos & all Ram songs live from the 1972 Tour

Well, all those who became members, didn't expect the web to be free, as you say. They paid for it. Turns out they shouldn't have, because now it's a 'free' extra to a product they are bound to buy anyway. It's either that, or, if you say that the extra isn't 'free', but included in the price of the deluxe set, then they end up paying twice for the same service. In the end, it isn't illegal, or not even morally wrong. True. Just a bit rude or callous of MPL.

has anyone seen any information on the ltd edition mono vinyl release? it's on the US and Canadian Amazon sites, but not the UK. HMV has a 2 disc vinyl release, but I think that's the other one. Not something I want to miss out on!

I agree with your earlier comment (not quoted above) that, so far, we're actually getting membership for free, and I'm not griping about that. But the fact remains that the only things we've got for our £30 are the ability to play Paul's songs all the way through (which really isn't much of a bonus to a fan, is it?) and some videos. My gripe is that this will (apparently) also now be available to people who have paid nothing for this privalege. I'm quite happy for them to offer membership deals in perpetuity. What I'm not happy about, is it being given away for free after I was charged £30. I'm not ranting and losing sleep, just concerned that, at present, I don't appear to be getting much for my money. Time will tell. Hopefully, things will become clearer and fans who paid up will still get something worth the money.

I agree with this point of view. If they want to do a promo for the membership, they should sell it for 1/2 price maybe. I know people would still complain about that...but it is true...if we (who bought the membership immediately) are buying the same deluxe Ram pkg as joe shmoe & he gets free membership, then we should get something of equivalent value. IMHO. <shrugs> Kinda like a either or...membership or a Wings shirt! Your choice!

FYI, the price on the deluxe edition on Amazon has dropped down to $106. http://www.amazon.com/RAM-Deluxe-Book-Edition-1DVD/dp/B007L96VG0/ref=pd_sim_b_1 Hopefully it'll keep dropping.
It better. I paid only about $60-something for McCartney and McCartneyII which has the same amount of stuff on it...three cds and a dvd. (Or is Ram four CDs?)

It will if it means I get nothing for my £32 that I couldn't have got for nothing...
This doesn't bother me. It's like anything else: If you buy the sweater early, you pay the full price, and then the people who hang back and wait for it to go on sale, get the same thing later for 50 percent off. That's the way it works.
Your analogy doesn't hold up: if I buy a sweater, I get a sweater. I bought exclusive membership to a "club" that has provided me with no appreciable benefit for being a member.
: Paul's site was static and boring before, and now there are all sorts of great features that weren't there before, including online access to all of Paul's music whenever you want to hear it. Has the site delivered on all its promises? Not yet, but then the site continues to be in "beta" and so technically your premium membership hasn't even started yet and you've been getting months of access to a developing site -- for free. The clock on our premium memberships doesn't start until the site is out of beta mode. So while they're still tinkering, we're getting the goods for nothing, and other than my own impatience at wanting more and wanting all the fancy do-dads on the new site to work, I see nothing to complain about yet.
though I better start getting notices of ticket sales even if I'm not going.

don't forget, a lot of us who bought at first became Pioneers. That's supposed to mean something down the road (besides Allen hearing us all grip about what doesn't work on the new site)

Resisting urge to click on preorder on amazon...resisting urge to click...and what's with this digital only crap? I hate that. you lose your stuff when your computer dies. (and it will die eventually)

Ah, hell with it. Amazon...here...where's my credit card...can't resist, Damn you, Paul, why do you have to be so irresistable...now what am I going to regret a few weeks down the line?

He is, the only two songs he performed from the '72 tour will be offered as exclusive downloads from the website.

Personally i think everyone that joined before it came out of beta should be pioneers, i joined and paid my money like everyone else and i am not a pioneer

Am I the only one getting the vinyl? Also, is it only available in mono?

Hi Flash Jazz! Welcome to the message board! You are not the only one purchasing the vinyl edition. Both the Vinyl Edition and the Limited Edition Mono Vinyl are available. Click here for details.

If you can become a premium member if you buy the deluxe edition then people who are premium members already should get a discount on the deluxe edition. End of.
