The Cube
-
Hello everyone, After a long day surveying the state of Maryland for the three promotional perks to the NEW album...I got the Bestbuy edition with pics, Target with DVD...but after going to three stores NO ONE had the cube... Does anyone somehow have an extra they'd be willing to part with? I'll be more than happy to buy it from you and pay for shipping. eBay is absolutely ridiculous right now...triple digits for this damn thing. From one huge fan to another...can someone help a poor completist out? PM me with info if interested...PEACE N LOVE

Forgot to mention that...tried the only three local record stores around me. There really aren't many around here at all anymore.
-
Did you try Fye? I got mine there. It was a lot smaller than I thought, but kind of cool.

Yes, three FYE owned stores...three local record stores. I was too late for 'em all!

I bought mine in Towson, outside of Baltimore, at an indie store when they opened at 10. Sorry, I can't hook you up as they were very limited and one per customer. The store told me they only had a few.
-
I bought my album from Streetlight Records' San Francisco store, and they've been advertising the cube on their site. But they didn't give me one and I forgot to ask! Arrggghhh!!!!!

was it Record and Tape Traders? That was my first stop. My classes totally killed any chances of being there at opening. I practically live there! But, classes from 9-3 made that impossible today.

That's the one. You were not allowed to reserve one so I dashed over there before 10. There was a line outside at opening, but luckily I was the only one looking for the McCartney album. Sorry, you were shut out on this.

Wow! The only time I've seen a line was the day the Beatles remaster box came out. Got a free litho and magnet set from them plus, it was on their old club card system where you got a dollar off per disc...so we saved big on that box!

I don't know what I'll do with 3 copies of the deluxe album, so I'll probably give 2 away to friends. I'm a completist also, though I doubt I'll get the Japanese import.

I've already got one to give away. I know plenty of folks that probably wouldn't buy the album themselves but would appreciate the music if handed to them, so I'll just pick a lucky friend! I'm keeping the best buy one since it has the nice little pocket for the pictures, and just sticking the DVD from target in their with it's own case.

According to Steve Marinuci, independent record stores will be carrying the cubes for Record Store Day (Black Friday)...I'll take my chances once more then I suppose!
-
I went to FYE around 1pm local time. There were 2 "NEW"s left on the shelf. One deluxe and one standard. I bought the deluxe and after I paid for it, the guy said "have a nice day". After staring inquisitively, I inquired about the cube, then he's like "oh yeah!", turns around and opens a giant bag on the counter filled with about 10 cubes or so and tosses me one. My guess is he had forgotten to give them out! Glad I remembered to ask.
-
FYE is nowhere near me so I called a couple independent stores this morning, none had the cube. Where can we find out more about Record Store Day's possible tie in for black Friday? I'd love to get a cube.
-
None of the FYE's around me had even recieved any to give out. I was bummed! But the manager took my information and is going to call if they get them in. He was just as bummed as I was

Confused (again) Is the cube only available in the US?
