Did anyone else see the 100 Club doorman selling wristbands out the front of the venue in full view of everyone? He sold about seven or eight that we saw and was being handed large wads of cash. What was really annoying was that the ones he sold them too he then escorted into the club ahead of those of us queuing!
Must say, didn't see that. When we got inside there was no one there apart from us and staff. So you've either mis-seen or the people who got in before us went straight for the beer.
We didn't mis-see. He has being handed bundles of twenty pound notes by several people. This was AFTER the first thirty or so people in the queue were let in. We were probably about 50th or 60th in the line and he started to bring the people he sold the wristbands too outside of Claires Accessories straight into the venue after they had handed over their cash. It couldn't spoil the event for us - and it would be naive to think it wasn't going to happen - but we did think of all those people that couldn't get tickets in the TM sale...

it was great being stood in front of him. He seemed to play to peoples photos and movies all the gig. Saw quite a few people who seemed to get Paul posing or looking at their pic. A nice gesture.

STROKED HANDS???!?!?!??! Details, please!!!
Yes, Please! What a great experience you had. Thank you both for the reports. I hope Paul does do more of these and I hope he does one in my city!

Thanks to all of you lucky attendees for your reports and photos of today's gig! I have been very, very fortunate to have seen Paul many times, in many venues, from both near and far, but a club gig such as this has always been a dream of mine. So you have now lived it, and I thank you for sharing it.

Couldn't have said it better. I can only hope that someday I get to attend a gig like this.

Hello, everyone. Just got home now from the gig and I have no words to explain it, there's just no way anything can top that - at least for me. I got my ticket today at a quarter past midnight from Ticketmaster, thanks to the "100 Club Tickets on Ticketmaster right now" thread. The problem is I don't live in London... Anyway, I booked a very overpriced ticket to fly to Heathrow this morning, then my flight was one hour and a half late but fortunately I managed to get to the venue at 12.17 (doors were already open). As mentioned by other people, the place is very small. The stage was at the side of the venue, not at the back, and there were some columns that restricted the view - I couldn't see Brian Ray for most of the time. Other than that, Paul seemed to be in a really good mood and enjoying to be there. You guys are probably interested about what he said, so I'll try to write down everything I can remember now (in no particular order). Before he started playing, he said, yawning: "It's a bit early for this". He dedicated one of the songs (Honey Hush, I believe) to Mick Green, who passed away earlier this year. Before playing "Don't Let The Sun Catch you Crying", he said that these kind of gigs are the perfect opportunity to include some less-known songs on the set, "either you like it or not". He mentioned Jimmy Fallon's show and sang, mockingly and a cappella, the first two verses of Scrambled Eggs. Paul also made fun of a reviewer that wrote that Petrushka was a traditional russian folk song. "It is now", he added. He also reminisced about the early days before playing "One after 909" and remembered how it was writing songs with John in his flat. I'm pretty exhausted now (my return flight was also two hours late), so I apologize if I can't remember everything at this moment. As soon as it starts coming back to me, I promise to write back. What a day...

It was just on the news! I screamed and accidentally called my dog (Panda) Paul.

Love his shiny purple waistcoat, and he sported his fancy red decorated guitar in the vid I saw, and somebody called out "where's lunch" and Paul got a cute funny (Irish lookin' too) look on his face, and said, "Hey, I don't want no heckling" (supposed to be "I don't want any heckling" Paul LOL), which was funny. He sure can be fun and funny along with everything else glorious, he da man, ain't he oops I mean "Isn't he"-- It's very nice to see you lucky 100 clubbers' ecstatic thoughts and observations on the show! Thanks veddy much. More please when you get a mo

And Harley, love... a gentleman on this board (de lacey is his username) had a ticket available two hours before the show. It was a great surprise to wake up to, I was beyond thrilled.

Wonder if Paul was late due to being in the shop next door LOL
