Very easy, because I burned them onto an awesome looking disk and slipped said disk into the set. Simple solutions for simple problems. Let the whiners whine, i''lol solve the problem and move forward

So you were lying then. Happy for you. :

Not lying at all. Bought the set, downloads come with the set. Downloaded the tracks, burned disk and now there are 5 disks. Understood though, you are obviously one of the whiners. Happy for you though

Well, my two cents. As I have stated earlier, never was a big fan of FITD; the remastered two CD set I picked up yesterday at Best Buy hasn't really changed my mine; will still skip over Rough Ride, You Want Her Too, Distractions, Don't Be Careless Love and Ou Est Le Soleil. The remaining tunes are really, really solid and I love listening to them. And Squid, I LOVE How Many People and Motor of Love; Paul's voice in these two songs is perfect. Are they great songs? Probably not, but they sound wonderful. Now to the bonus 'original demos'; well, not a fan of Elvis Costello at all! Thank goodness Paul released his solo version of My Brave Face! And the rest of the bonus tunes were fine, but I hardly belief I will listen to them again. Ever. Really upset that Flying to My Home wasn't included; a great, great song with a definite Wings vibe. Patiently waiting for Red Rose Speedway and Back To The Egg remasters.
________________________________________________________ Wingsoverkc, Always like your posts. You are a passionate fan for sure. You sort of prove my point earlier that Paul fans are really a wide ranging group in musical tastes. What one person likes...others dislike etc. etc. Nobody is right or wrong here; it is a matter of opinion. I would recommend that you listen to Distractions again. I liked it before (way back in 1989) but listening to the new Remaster, I love it. I don't like Motor of Love but you really like it. We can go on and on with fan reactions to individual songs. One reason i do like this site composed mainly of true fans is that you can get some consensus over most Paul songs. I'm talking about songs that most fans really like and which songs most fans don't like. And then you have a group in the middle where getting a consensus is more difficult. With FITD, I would predict the following: For the most part, most true fans really like: My Brave Face Distractions We Got Married Put It There This One That Day is Done Songs where fans are 50/50 on it: Rough Ride You Want Her Too Figure of 8 Don't Be Careless Love How Many People Songs where the majority don't like it (or don't feel it fits the album) Motor of Love Ou Est Le Soleil I for one like most of the songs in the middle (the 50/50 category) and that is why I think it is one of Paul's better albums...maybe 6,7, or 8th best (not including primary cover albums, live albums and classical) The fact that most true fans really like the first group above makes FITD a viably good Macca album and certainly not a bad one. I must say that the packaging even in the 2 CD Set is very nice so I would imagine that the packaging in the Deluxe Sets are wonderful

Nah. As it stands, I'm still not buying it. I need to see it at least drop to double digits considering this BS.

Your loss dude, disk 2 and 3 are great!! Been listening to these disks for 2 months and they have yet to leave my players
-
I don't doubt it at all, it's just too much damn money for the set in the first place and then this goof-up with the download only business doesn't help its case.
-
I don't see it as a goof up at all. It's just bonus material given for buying the set. No matter how you wrap it up, this is more audio and video content offered on any set. They could have just stopped at disk 3 and sold it that way but you got 16 bonus tracks plus the two more from the websie

Usually in these sets they announce what's upcoming, but this time they didn't - just go to Paul McCartney.com. Since he seems to be going in chronological order, skipping over a few albums, I wonder what will be next. I'm disappointed he skipped over "Londontown" and "Press to Play," in particular. My guess for what's next, if there is one, will be "Flaming Pie," which is the last record that included contributions from Linda.
Not sure about the chronological order. Didn't RAM come after "Band on the Run"? And didn't Wings Over America" come before "Venus and Mars" and "Wings At the Speed of Sound"? "McCartney II" even came before all of them, if I remember correctly. The chronology of the original albums doesn't seem to have much influence on the order of the re-releases.
I think it was Band On The Run McCartney /McCartney II Ram Venus and Mars /Speed Of Sound Wings Over America Tug Of War/Pipes Of Peace Flowers In The Dirt
Yeah that was the order, except WOA came before V&M & WATSOS

Just bought the two CD set earlier this afternoon (still in the shrink wrap)...will give my impressions of disc two later on...but I had to say that I feel like a bit of a sucker since is the 6th copy of this album that I have purchased: Both the cassette and CD configurations when it first came out The world tour boxed set edition (came with party party CD single) Two CD Japanese set The 'Paul McCartney Collection' version And now this archive version Also bought pretty much every CD single associated with this album (My brave face, this one, put it there and figure of eight. And if I'm forgetting one or two, probably those too...lol) I Hope this disk of demos makes it worth it

Hi, So sorry to learn you are experiencing an issue with your download. We have another report of your experience here in our technical forum: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=92345 I have reported this issue. Please be patient in waiting for a reply as we are dealing with different time zones, etc. Fingers crossed for a swift resolution! Anita

One thing I notice is that Paul doesn't seem to like any bonus disc being longer than the main album itself (other than "McCartney II"). He prefers the album to be the center of attention. This carries over into the Beatles re masters, where there are no bonus tracks at all. The original album is the whole point of the set. Anything else is just gravy. Hardcore fans like us don't like that, but "how many people" are actually complaining and breaking through? A few dozen? Compared to tens of thousands that will buy it anyway? I think they're doing the math and concluding that their approach is the correct one. Also, Paul seems to prefer that only the best of the best is released, not anything that will potentially diminish his image. I think that's the thinking, anyway.

My set came on Monday, but didn't have time to do anything but take the shrink wrap off! Tomorrow (actually now today) will be out and about and listen in the car. What's the deal with the "cassette demos" that are listed as download only? (I Don't Want To Confess, Shallow Grave, Mistress And Maid)

The downloads are what everyone has been complaining about. It would have been nice if they came on a cd but you can burn them to disc.
