THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
-
I heard samples of these, and Wings 71-73 (Long Tall Sally blew me away) on SiriusXM Beatles Channel. Whoever was lucky enough to score one of those...it's amazing. Wish that one got its own release.
Usually I go down to my local Barnes & Noble and pick up the deluxe sets on release day. Sadly, they redid their music section and they did not have Wild Life or Red Rose Speedway in stock. (Their computers said 12/14 for release).
So I had to order them online. This is the first time in years that I haven't had the remasters on release day, and RRS is one of my all-time favorites! But at least I got a holiday deal. FYE has an online sitewide sale this weekend...even on new releases. Knocked a good chunk off the Amazon price I was looking at.
As soon as it gets in, James Paul McCartney is going into the DVD player...lol. So glad they included that TV special.

I haven't listened to Give Ireland Back to the Irish for ages... wow, it's the most politically-charged song ever written by a Beatle, particularly for the time. Wow. And it's a great 'forgotten' song. Sung passionately. Fantastic.
I have the 45 of that with a fancy sleeve (not a photo, but drawing)

Anyone have trouble accessing the link to redeem the RRS double album mp3s? I just went back to my local record store to buy it, and even though I got the codes from yesterdays purchases to work last night, the link paulmccartney.com/redeem/rrs-double isn't working for me.

My RRS double album link and download codes also do NOT work. I couldn't find anyone to contact regarding it and don't even know who I should reach out to.

Mine did not work either. I sent an email to the paulmccartney.com webmaster to ask them to fix this. Hopefully they will get it fixed.

If they do fix it, please let me know. This is just really frustrating. I've never had a problem before.

Hello all,
I wrote a review/web article on the Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway 2CD archive editions two nights ago. Here's a link to the article: https://hubpages.com/entertainment/Paul-McCartney-and-Wings-Wild-Life-and-Red-Rose-Speedway-Archive-Collection-2CD-reviews
Thanks,

It has not been fixed as of today.

Is there much in the way of recording information in the books accompanying the Wild Life & Red Rose Speedway albums? I haven't obtained the two-disc deluxe versions yet so I'm not sure if they contain any session details in their respective booklets.

The link and the download is working today.

Does anyone know if "Give Ireland Back To The Irish," included on the Wild Life 2018 album, has been remastered for this album? It doesn't say it has been so I assume that it hasn't.

Yeah, it is just listed without any “remastered” next to it.

Thanks for the reviews Marshall. Based on your analysis, I will definitely buy the 2 CD versions of both.

Has anyone seen "special sale prices" for the 2 Cd versions at Target (for both Red Rose Speedway and Wildlife). If you remember, what are the prices?

BJ, on Target’s website, they don’t even have the Wild Life 2 CD. The RRS is $15.99. It is also $15.99 on Amazon. Amazon does have the 2 CD Wild Life for $19.07.

Thanks Nancy. I have a Target fairly close so I'm going to try to pick up RRW tonight or tomorrow. I'll have to buy Wildlife through Amazon. The review I read from Marshall (above) are very favorable. In his opinion, the Bonus Audio CD on the RRS is the best he's heard on all the Archive 2 CD sets.

I just bought the 2 CD Red Rose Speedway package for $15.95. What a steal!
The package is very nice. Besides the remastered proper album, I can't wait to play the Bonus Audio Disc. It has a whopping 18 tracks and I'm really looking forward to hearing rare songs like:
*The Mess (live at the Hague)
*I Lie Around
* Night Out
*Country Dreamer
*Seaside Woman
*Best Friend (live)
*Mama's Little Girl
*I Would Only Smile (Denny Laine)
*Tragedy
*Thank You Darling
*1882 (Live in Berlin)
*Jazz Street
* Live and Let Die (Group Only)

The real bonus is the "Reconstructed" 2-record set that it was originally going to be. Amazing melodies thoughout. It could arguably be the best album Wings ever made!
