THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL

Supposedly, it's these two this year: Venus and Mars (1975) (Wings) Wings at the Speed of Sound (1976) (Wings) And then these two in 2015: Tug of War (1982) Pipes of Peace (1983) Beyond that is anyone's guess, but I'm guessing the following are out of the running, since Hear Music has already re-released them without bonus material: Off the Ground (1993) Run Devil Run (1999) Driving Rain (2001) Chaos and Creation in the Backyard (2005)
I suppose he has his reasons for how he's approaching this project, but whatever they are.... are not readily apparent. If it were me, I would just do them in the order they were originally recorded.....maybe three at a time, but...how he is going about it is quite baffling. To me.
I wish they went in order too. I think it's whatever his "people" can scoop up & get together for the books. All the pics & memorabilia with the notes & such.

Can anyone who's already bought the deluxe version of this reissue tell the rest of us a little more about the bonus DVD? For one, how long is the "Wings at Elstree" segment and what songs does it contain/are they complete song performances? Also, same question for the "Bon Voyageur" segment? Thanks!

There are no complete performances on this DVD. The films are edited down from their original length, just clips and snippets, but that was enough for me. 13 minutes for "Elstree", 8 minutes for "Voyageur". The V&M TV ad is pretty entertaining, but very short.

I think we all were expecting "London Town" and "Back To The Egg" to be announced, but I guess that would make too much sense so they skipped them. I was hoping that we would get a remastered version of "Mull of Kintyre" but it looks like I get to keep waiting.

________________________________________________________________________ Nigel, I too was hoping to see Egg/London Town next but from a "sales" point of view I can see where Paul and Company would put Tug of War next. I remember when Tug of War came out, it had a great deal of exposure as Paul's next Band of the Run. The album got great reviews and had Paul teaming with Stevie Wonder on a couple of tracks. It was also Paul's first album after John's death. Couple Tug of War with Pipes of Peace, you now had Paul teaming with Michael Jackson. Because so many people are familiar with Paul during this period, the sales of this combination should be one of the higher ones in the Archive Collection. Hopefully, Paul is thinking that Tug of War and Pipes of Peace will give momentum to the next Archive Package they would announce for 2016. Like you I am hoping for a Londontown/Back to the Egg package. When you think about it, Egg and London Town are not nearly as well known as Tug of War. But, I think this late period Wings is seriously underrated and would have lots of material for the Macca fans. Would love to have a good quality DVD of the mini tours shortly after the release of Back to the Egg. The Bonus CD's should also have some very good material. Let's hope this is the way it goes and we have 4 more Archive collections (4 albums covered) over the next 2 years.

Totally agree with Conlee, Wings made a great work in their last years, specially in 1978... they made an incredible number of songs for London Town that weren't included in the official soundtrack. TOW has a lot of reasons to be considered, but, what can this reedition offer to us? RRS has "1881" as a hidden gem, BTTE has "Cage"...

RRS has "1881" as a hidden gem,
Was that the hidden gem recorded the year before '1882'? I really want RRS to be given the Deluxe treatment, if only to have the a dvd of the university tour rehearsals, the Bruce McMouse Show', plus the Wings over Europe concert footage. I can dream anyway.

Made me want to listen to it...

There are plenty of demos doing the round in bootlegs as recorded at Rude Studio. Most suck dog bollocks but unreleased nonetheless!

Even if they decide to scale back the large deluxe book editions on potential future releases, my hope is that they could still give us something similar to the "New" collector's edition. They could still provide the remastered album, a bonus CD, and a DVD in a fairly inexpensive package with a small book. All of these albums need to be remastered and re-released. As an added bonus, maybe they could release them more frequently then.

I'd be perfectly happy with that, too.

Chart watch: On the Billboard 200, V&M falls from 31 to 114, in its second week as an Archive reissue. SOS falls from 45 to 175. Meanwhile, the chart is being stormed by Christmas/holiday albums, old and new, plus some perennial sellers, so I wouldn't be surprised to see "Abbey Road" and/or "1" make a reappearance soon.

agreed though. and seriously, anyone else have about 15 cd's with "walking in the park...", "my carnival" ... etc etc

I find the bonus audio for SOS more interesting than the V&M stuff. It's nice to hear the demos. The books look great, and everything is nicely presented. They are cool to have, but I do wish that there was more video content. They're like teasers, and I can't help feeling that "deluxe" packages should have more. I also agree that RRS would be a clear choice for the deluxe treatment. I'm also hoping for Wildlife, London Town, and BTTE.

I just discovered that my Venus & Mars and Wings At The Speed Of Sound Deluxe Books are made in China, so are the CDs manufactured in China, they look great and sound great, but I was surprised to discover that, I know that mostly the ones from China are fake ones, especially the remastered Beatles reissues, I just wonder if all of them are from China then I know they're ok, are yours the same ?, I am in Canada and bought them from HMV here.
-
Where does it say Made In China? My V&M one came from Amazon Canada and I don't see anything about China.
-
on the cd in the small writing on the label it says manufactured in China, and the back cover sheet at the back of the book/box at the bottom it says printed in China.
