THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
-
ewanme:
Speed Of Sound is absolutely the best Wings album. Cook Of The House is FANTASTIC, I never tire of hearing this track, Linda does a brilliant job. One of the best selling albums of 1976 too! This is the album I would most like to see in deluxe form.
Whatever drugs you're on, can I get some? It must be some really good sh**.

They do make strange decisions, such as putting live versions from many years later (Glasgow in 1979, Unplugged in 1991!) on the McCartney bonus disc. Even that "Women Kind" demo is from years later ("The Piano Tape"), even though it may have been written around 1970. Bonus material should be contemporary to the time of the original album, in my opinion. I get the feeling the SOS bonus disc may have more of this kind of fudging to scrape enough material together.
I agree completely. Live versions from years later do NOT belong as bonus tracks with the original album. I rather hear a bad sounding cassette sourced acoustic demo of the songs from the album.
Yes, cassette demos would be fabulous!
Unfortunately, they're not giving us any.

i like to see a compilation of the 3 fireman cds just don't call "Best of" pick the tracks that fit well together and put it out again

SOS has Warm and Beautiful (as well as the two blockbuster hits)...'nough said And I do think this album has a lot of charm, although it's not in my top 10 albums...but I have to admit I have some kind of soft spot for the albums Venus and Mars through Back to the Egg...I don't rate all of them in my 10 ten per se'...but they are like that warm security blanket to me...LOL

I'd like to see the Twin Freaks project released on CD and tweaked a bit so that the version of Maybe I'm Amazed from the 2005 pre show track list is included (it's basically the same version that's on the current version of Twin Freaks edited to further include a segment from Working Classical - still with strings, but also with the driving beat from the current Twin Freaks version...it was pretty cool and I haven't heard that in a while)

Twin Freaks Tweaked: sounds good! I don't suppose it's an immediate priority, but it would be nice to have on CD, even though I spent a ridiculous amount of money on the LP.

Haha no drugs, just love SOS, it's the best musically and production wise, a real Wings album for Wings fans. Just the greatestt. Everyone I've converted to Wings thinks it's their best album.

Linda had words for her naysayers: "I say you're crazy You make me sick" - The Light Comes From Within (And those were the kind words!)
I have to say that I really enjoy Cook of the House too! Really like Linda's words for her naysayers too... Gives me an idea I really like someone's idea of a Fireman compilation. Electric Arguments came out as a deluxe album in the metal pizza box and all the goodies. so that's done I would love to see an all out compilation of Paul's Fireman albums and maybe even Twin Freak's in with that...with so many bonus goodies and photos...I can imagine Paul having the freedom to really let go with his imagination in a way he doesn't normally for his more mainstream works. I could see one of his paintings, or even a new painting for the cover and other paintings of Paul's inside. Including videos of the making of these projects, and also things like quality videos of the preshows, such as the ones in Russia and the Magritte references and the curtain with the painting on it. Something really showing just how artistically creative Paul actually is...a full blown artistic extravaganza...it's such a pity to think all this wonderful stuff is sitting in a can somewhere, when there are people who missed it and only got to see small bits. I also think there must be some really cool things from the Rushes album as well!! Some outdoor desert videos to go with the music...it would be so cool.

Warm and Beatiful is another tune whose attraction for some fans baffles me. The lyrics are low-grade Hallmark, the melody is nothing special and the vocal is thin. That there are people who like it and don't like My Valentine is one of the great mysteries of life.

Review of 'Speed Of Sound'
-
I really wish and hope that a DVD of Ocean's Kingdom is made. The music was so beautiful and I really enjoyed the ballet and the costumes by Stella were so colorful and beautiful. Really enjoyed the underwater ones, so colorful and ethereal.

I only know that when everything has been re-mastered, then the original releases will be deemed best which will propel charity shops to 'Woolworth-like' status.
