Any word of a single disc editions? I believe all the other albums in the series did get a 1CD treatment, didn't they? [The exception being Wings Over America, for obvious reasons.]

The complete Wings/Rockestra Kampuchea set list is listed at the following link. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/wings/1979/hammersmith-odeon-london-england-23d7a0ef.html

Maybe that will be available at Best Buy or Target stores.

I guess MPL have had to get in contact with drummer Geoff Britton regarding his work on the 'Venus & Mars' related tracks. If so, that must be strange for him to suddenly have (indirect?) contact with Paul again after forty years?

Meanwhile, back at the V&M/SoS reissue: Does anyone know how soon we might see an alternative vendor for pre-ordering? As a matter of principle, I do not buy from Amazon when there are viable alternatives.
Don't know when that would be. What principle, may I ask? Fight the power?
Amazon is evil. See, for example http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/amazon-doubles-down-on-intimidation-campaign-against-hachette Also see http://misterkristoff.wordpress.com/2014/05/23/amazon-hachette-and-flaming-bullshit/ I buy all my books from a local independent bookseller. I like to do the same for music, but alas, the few record stores left in SF are a ways away from me and not always convenient to get to.

Duly noted.

It doesn't say that Geoff was interviewed for the book for Venus and Mars so I wonder if they got in touch. I know that Joe English was interviewed for both V&M and the SoS books.

Glad to hear Joe English participated. Not too long ago, I had seen a video of Joe English after he had taken a more religious approach to life and from what he was saying, I couldn't tell if he was bashing Paul for the life he led prior to his 'clean' life or that he just didn't have the make up to deal with life in rock music

I'll bet that cult is sucking up every nickel he's making off these reissues.

I was more thinking more about sorting out any business arrangements regarding Geoff's appearance on the unreleased 'Rockshow' track. But an interview would have been nice. At least Joe is involved which should be interesting. I was reading an interview with him a while back where he was going into detail about the out of tune vocals and harmonies on Wings Over America and the tv special and how it took them weeks to re-record them.

Geoff Britton's drumming sessions were "services" for which he was paid*****. His permission is not needed for anything; however, he is entitled to royalties, which I'm sure is being handled appropriately. *=which wasn't much. Wings personnel were promised monies that would look like "telephone numbers," but that was not the case at all at the end of the day.

You must be thinking of the interview that Joe did with Beatlefan back in December 1978. www.facebook.com/notes/10151696466385329/

I expect that will be the case. It would have been nice to have seen Geoff make as much money as Pete Best did out of the Beatles Anthology album but, of course, that's not going to happen.

That's the one but I hadn't realised that the interview was so old. ops:

Can't remember what the original release date was on these, but they've been delayed till September 30, which would now be about a week after the George "Apple Years" box. I would not be surprised to see these dates change again.
-
Amazon in the UK still says 22nd

Amazon (Canada) still shows a September 23 release date for both box sets.

New email I got from Amazon (U.S.) says Oct. 6-10 delivery date!

I've given up on Amazon. Better off rocking into a store and hoping to get it first day. They're pretty good.
