i concur considering that Linda was the inspiration for that song.

To me, it's not even close. While BOTR is one of Paul's better pop songs, MIA is one of Paul's best songs - period...right up there with the Golden Slumbers medley, For No One, She's Leaving Home, Yesterday, etc...and it's not at the bottom of the list of the songs I just mentioned

It's two very different songs to my ears. "Maybe I'm Amazed" I think is one of his best love songs. "Band on the Run" is musically interesting, with its three-part sections.

Maybe I'm Amazed, the original. Sweet and rough all in the same beautiful beat.

Easily MIA. Not just Paul's best song, but 1 of the best songs ever. The melodic guitar riff is unworldly. Paul was in a league of his own regarding songwriting from 1968-1971.

However I would extend the dates from 1966 to 1971. His work on Revolver IMHO was exquisite. Maybe I'm Amazed is my favourite. The intro sends shivers up my spine overtime I hear it.

To this date, MIA is Paul's greatest Post Beatles' song. He has many great ones but if I had to choose one... I do like the original studio version easily the best. As someone else said, Paul deviates from the sweet and raspy vocals that makes the song so interesting. It's also the right length whereas the live version (though I like it) runs a little too long for me. I also think the last 60 seconds or so is one of the best "fade outs" of any modern song recorded from any artist. The other day I walked into a mall and I only caught that part of the song and it sounded so perfect...the combination of the drums and electric guitar.
