Stones vs. Paul
-
SIRPAULY:
I've seen Macca and the Stones about 30 times each. I saw Macca in Stl on 11/11 and the Stones in NJ 12/15. I gotta give the edge to the Stones. At least they change their setlist when they are on tour. The 2002-2003 tour they did was absolutely fantastic! 1 club show with rare songs, 1 arena show with rare songs and hits, and 1 stadium show with mostly hits. Absolutely fantastic idea! Paul sounded great in STL, but the Stones rocked NJ like no other. Anybody who would suggest they are mediocre is lying to themselves. Im surprised nobody mentions The WHo in this debate. They're just as good as Paul and the Stones.
The most I've ever enjoyed "live" Stones was the Scorsese thing a few years back.

Let's go to the Stones forum and ask this question and see what their fans think!
...if we're willing to spend the loot.

The fans on the Stones site no doubt would rather see the Stones than McCartney. I have a hunch!

Going to a Stones forum and hearing the Paul disses would be like going back in time -- from the tired, old "John was the main one doing all the writing" to "Paul did only the soft songs, and John did the rockers." Twould be a frustrating venture.

The Stones like to repackage their 'hits' every few years. I bought 40 Licks ten years ago, I'll pass on Grrrrr How many times do their fans have to buy the same songs?

Who would you rather see in concert than Paul McCartney?

Who would you rather see in concert than Paul McCartney?
Elvis. Nobody else -- not even James Brown, Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix or U2.

John Lennon. I wish I could have seen him live.

Audi, You were too young to have seen him in concert, weren't you? You were 7 or something when he died? You knew I saw him in 1971 at age 16 in Cleveland, OH, right? (from the 4th row!!)

I agree! He's the only Beatle I never saw in concert. But as far as living performers, there is no one but Paul I'd rather see!

I saw both those shows (12/13 and 12/15) and the Who a few times. I couldn't argue with anyone who chose any one of the three as their favorite. My personal choice would be McCartney, but the Stones really, really rocked NJ!! Definitely my favorite Stones concert.( Shelley sighting at the Stones concert.)

Cool! And then make one for Paul vs. Godzilla!

Who would you rather see in concert than Paul McCartney?
No one. I've seen the Stones twice and really enjoyed their shows but if they are both touring at the same time, I'll be going to McCartney. For my fantasy list see the other thread.
-
I would gladly see either in concert. All they have to do is show up.

Stones are B-stringers. Always have been, always will be. If somebody gave me tickets maybe I'd go but otherwise pass. Paul is art, the highest caliber of his art. He is my answer here

I was on a Stones site a lot years ago, and enjoyed it, was a lot of fun but the Beatles were seldom mentioned! : I had a chance to see the Stones in Durham, N.C. a few years ago, didn't go and greatly regret it, now. I'd want to be kind of drunk at a Stones gig ops: audi, I saw Elvis in concert not very long before he passed away, in Fayetteville, N.C. A friend dragged me there (she also made me see Kenny Rogers) but turned out I was glad she did (to Elvis). I've only seen Paul once in concert, which was the ultimate concert thrill and hope to have that big thrill again

Wouldn't mind seeing Kenny Rogers in his prime
