The love story of this world cup ended with a kiss. Casillas cried for minutes after the Iniesta's goal. Actually this is the only final I remember that the winners cry much more than the losers... Pique, Casillas, Iniesta, Torres... He couldn't help to do it at the end of the interview... They both suffered a lot cause lots of people here were serious about saying she distract Casillas being all the time close to him being the TV journalist on the field. so that was Casillas "distracted"... the kiss interview, all the interviews on the World Cup were serious, but now there was no need...
Blatter is saying he's upset because of Holland's violence on the final and lack of fair-play. I hope Spain wins the Fair-play trophy too. The World Press it wouldn't hurt to see Brian May and Roger Taylor doing that in Spain... And again Paul was right. -
Congratualtions to The Netherlands. Even they haved the second place, I do think The Netherlands did a very good job on this World Cup. Tommorow the Dutch team will be recieved by our Dutch Queen Beatrix on her palace and also they wukk have a grand channel trimph boat trip on the channels of Amsterdam. We are very, very proud. I just don't wanna say a negativ world about the loss. Because it wasm'in my eyes. I just don't understand the foreign press being negativ about the Dutch team. We gace some youn talent and they are gonna be shine big time in the future. You see, I'm proud of my country they have give me a lot. Spain.... they hacve sometime no manners at all.......................................................

Feact, don't feel bad. Second place is pretty good, too! Besides, it's only a game. But, if you really, really care, why don't you psych yourself out and state: "Good thing a European country won!" "I always knew one of our teams would win!" "I'm going to celebrate our victory!" You see! It's all psychological! You're only a loser, if you get angry! Be Happy! Celebrate!

they had to win from an off-side goal But well done anyway.
uhum... offside goal? what offside goal? Iniesta was not offside for a lot...
This thread is now full of people who know nothing about football. It was not offside of course. Iniesta was a meter onside. But of course the very unsympathetic Dutch team had to moan and complain to the ref who actually did a good job. Holland should be thankful that they finished the first half with 11 men and not 9 after the horrible tackles from De Jong and Van Bommel. Congratulations, Spain. I'm glad that a team that actually try to play football won. Holland got 9 yellow cards and one red. That says it all.

Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff has launched a scathing attack on Netherlands' display in the World Cup final, deriding it as "anti-football". The Dutch received nine yellow cards, and a red card for Johnny Heitinga, as they lost 1-0 to Spain in South Africa. "Sadly, they played very dirty," Cruyff told Spanish newspaper El Periodico. "This ugly, vulgar, hard, hermetic, hardly eye-catching, hardly football style... If with this they got satisfaction, fine, but they lost.
I agree with Cruyff. This was anti-football.

Heck yeah Netherlands did OK...Fantastic! Still 0 -0 after more than a hundred and fifteen minutes of play. They were awesome! Great game by both!

Well, it's natural that they react like that right after the match. They'll realize about it all soon. Again, if Holland would have won doing that (no matter who would have been its rival) it could have turned the future of football into karate... Think Zidane was out of the last world cup final for an agression. The same thing that Zidane did with his head... De Jong did with his foot. btw, Laudrup is here again, coach of Mallorca's team and of course another important person on this is Johan Cruyff... I hope we forget soon about the tackles too.

Svenn, that's a sexy new pic of Scarlett! More than one milion people received Spain's dream team in Madrid, and received with Queen's We Are The Champions... it seemed that song was written for Spain's history... Reina (Reina means "Queen" in Spanish...) did his particular show again. Pepe Reina introduces every player

To many terrible fouls by the dutch team so I think Spain deserved to win! That last pic looks more like Tae-Kwon-Do than football! :

21st Century Paul:
I'm very happy cause that's (the pass-around style) is the style I've liked to play since I was kid. And that was built very much here in Barcelona. I think is the most beautiful way and the smartest way to play football. There's 3 people not on the team that have had a big influence in all this... 1) Michael Laudrup Barça signed him in the 90s and his magic passes captivated people here 2) Guardiola Laudrup's admirer and the icon for always trying to play the ball, both him and Laudrup were the beginning of this kind of playing school here. 3) Raul He was Spanish biggest star for a long time and yet he defended and fighted liked the best defenders, always playing for the team. And that's how all the players of this team play, not for any kind of individual show-off but for the team... kind of like The Beatles did as rock and roll band. And they are being received as The Beatles today.
*drinks a soda then spits it out after choking on it* LOL! WHAT?! All you're doing is listing your favorite players (again) and trying to give them a World Cup winners' medal that they couldn't earn on the pitch themselves. : Johan Cruyff is the name that should be mentioned here. He brought the Total Football-passing style he played with those Ajax and Holland teams of the 70s to Barcelona when he was coaching them during the 90s and the style has been tweeked a bit and passed on to La Furia Roja via the Barcelona players on the team (Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets who's a great passer of the ball for a defensive player). Cruyff's influence on today's Barca team cannot be overstated. But with the final being Spain v Holland, the person who had the ultimate influence on both teams, the man who was watching from up above as the two teams took to the pitch and probably played out the tactics of both teams in his head as to what each should be doing to achieve victory, the true father of the 2010 World Cup Final, was Rinus Michels. Meanwhile, Sandro Rosell doesn't sound like a good person. He was a long shot from the start but I was hoping Agusti Benedito would somehow win the election. He ended up finishing second. Granted, a distant second, but second place was still quite a shock given not many knew much about him a year ago.

I have one question, if the Holland player didn't get the red Card, would Spain score?? I doubt it although I think Spain was the most stable team in this world cup , they didn't win easily on any team at all. it was always 1-0 and with Holland they couldn't make it without that red card. If Holland played the same way they did with Uruguay or Brazil (second half) they could have finished the match without extra time. again bad defenders effected Holland, specially the Karate Kid No.8 and No .6 . but I dont think the player deserved Red Card As For Zidan 2006, he didn't kick the Italian for no reason, the Italian said bad things about Zidan's mother knowing this is a very sensitive case for Zidan, he wanted him to lose control, and he succeeded, and with a referee who wanted to be immortalized by giving red Card on final world cup match to the best Player in the world cup that year. it was unfair, he didnt give him yellow card or even asked why did he do that....or even gave the red card to the Italian player. Zidan is not the kind of player who needs to play dirty to win, and the ball was not between them when that happened.... even though Italy on 2006 was my favorite and did a great match in semi-finale beating Germany, but what happened was a shame , winning in that dirty way.
