Another thing about Temporary Secretary...his voice can still handle it...and THAT is a GOOD thing.

RMartinez:
Good for Paul to change things up. I still would not travel to hear Temporary Secretary live. Not one of my favorites.
I agree with you 100%.

That is true but there are plenty of other songs from his solo career that his voice can still handle.

Because I felt like it. Chill.

@"yankeefan7": Think big picture; think about the glorious nads that it took for Paul McCartney to whip out a left-field choice like "Temporary Secretary." And here I thought Macca was just talking out of his ass when he'd mentioned performing it in recent interviews. And, on top of that, I concluded that Wix and Macca's sound-crew were just noodling with that electro-loop at the Budokan sound-check last month for the helluvit. In hindsight -- despite those clear, blatant hints -- I never dreamed that performing "Temporary Secretary" was seriously on the man's agenda. It tells me that, maybe, he's not so committed anymore to callously discarding a solo record, just because its promotional tour has ended. It also tells me that Paul McCartney could be keenly aware that there was a lengthy period before Beatlemania's spectacular resurgence -- and Macca's laser-focus on it -- that a guy named Paul McCartney was making inventive records during the interim.

I always liken temp sec back in the day but boy does it sound dated but hey always good to mix it upDave Grohl there tonight i see on twitter?

If it had been "Spies Like Us," I would be saying the same thing "RMartinez" is.

I agree. I just watched the youtube video you posted, and I must concede it sounds great live. And a strong crowd response!

I can probably list at least ten relatively current indie-rock bands who've recorded tracks that sound like they could easily fit on McCartney II. Two that come to mind are Passion Pit and Man Man.

Temporary Secretary sounds great live! And he's doing it right at the beginning of the show! How cool is that?

It just proves what we as fans, and perhaps Paul may have forgotten was that he could do stuff so un Macca like back in the day,but i stand by what i say to my old ears it sounds like it should have been left back in 1980 but as a curio (and i suspect it won't make it much past this tour before its retired for good)its great he's peeled the covers off it.

Thankfully, no. Mister Mister is -- maybe -- one notch above contemporary Christian pop.

I'm with you. The song sounds more fresh today than it did then.

A nice setlist. I'm glad he decided to add those songs now, instead of waiting for the next tour.
