That's not susie but anyway...that 1500-2000 also includes the soundcheck, right? Don't they print that on the ticket? I forgot how mine read...250 for the seat & the rest was for the soundcheck & meal? How do they break it down & justify it? I forget. ps...I'd be pissed too though. But what can ya do? *shrugs*
My ticket says $500. So I paid $1000 for the soundcheck, veggie dinner and swag?

Oh I definitely see the difference now, it's pretty clear from this that the platform has pushed back the seating by about 3-4 rows.

Crap! See how close the 1st row is there and how far away it is now!! (and I will be in the 4th row--I wrote to MPL of my displeasure)

Paul knows the "regulars". He looks for them. He called them the "regulars" in St. Louis. What if you are not one of the "regulars" and are doing your once in a lifetime show?
All I meant was that he can see into the floor seating even though it is set back from previous concerts and my reason for believing that was because of my example of the Fans On The Run and a couple of the other regulars comment. So if you are doing a once in a lifetime show and you are sitting in the front rows I think he will also be able to see you.
-
Paul has always had a large gap. Now there's a stage in it. If anything your seats are better because you're not too close. Or write Africa an email about how horrible your life has become.

Untrue. Look at the links to the photos I posted above.

That IS true. He can see more than just the people in the first row, always has done so.

My friends and I wrote to MPL yesterday, but we didn't receive replies. Maybe they are getting too many to respond? It sounds like we have done everything in our power regarding the new stage. Many of us have posted here, written to MPL, posted on Paul's FB page and/or tweeted to Paul. I'm still not happy about the arrangement, but I am forcing myself to focus on the good (to keep my mind off of it) and it's working!! I'm getting very, very excited about seeing Paul in 5 days!!!! It's getting difficult to concentrate at work. I won't give up that small glimmer of hope that they might decide to chuck the platform, but I'm not expecting it. See you at the Rock Show!!
-
I must agree with Dawn. The stress of this is getting to me. Now I have a fever blister. I too wrote MPL and sent them a link to this thread so they can see the complaints. $1500 is a lot of money for most of us. I was dreaming for the close 3rd row...not the further away 3rd row. I am just hoping to melt all my cares away when I see that man! I have no doubt I will. Love you Paul McCartney!!!!!

People worrying about something they have no control over. Unfortunate.

if you didn't pay for first/sound check.. I suppose you wouldn't worry? at least people can voice their concerns and displeasure.. no clause in ticket buying process... " added platform at venues.. this could affect your seating"~ this makes the premium membership look like a cake walk~

MY HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!! I remember when the Beatles had to play for ppl in the round..like they would turn and play to the ppl on the sides and the back. Poor Ringo had to move his drum kit! I think Paul should forget about that stage that goes up and play on a run way , so more ppl can see him in those front rows. won't 'cause I always have the nose bleed seats!! Keep the VIP ppl happy, Paul!! :
Susie, you wouldn't be rolling your eyes if you paid $1500-$2000 bucks
opps sorry Susie.. I meant LPB...
-
If I were Susie..I'd be mad!! Yes, I don't pay that kind of $$ 'cause I can't see well enough to make paying that to just be close to the stage..you see?
-
Distance from stage to 1st row has always varied greatly depending on the venue. This is a pic I took just before the start of the public LV concert on 6/10/11. You can see distance is much greater than it was for Phoenix and yet it doesn't appear that Orlando is much different than LV.
-
sorry the picture is not very big, but hopefully you can see the distance. If anyone is that interested I can give you a direct link to see bigger pic.

Still no word. from MPL ops:
-
Don't mean to be negative, but I doubt MPL could or would change the staging configuration at this point. I know it sounds like the platform could just be ditched, but this is a major part of the show that was used in rehearsals and is part of the stage map each venue gets and prepares for.
-
I don't think anyone is expecting a change to occur during this leg of the tour as it would be costly and difficult at this time to make a change. But that shouldn't be a deterrent to voicing disappointment in the set up. There will likely be another leg of the tour in the fall and if this is the first time the platform is used I bet they are trying to determine if it should be a permanent fixture moving forward. And as MPL had replied before, they haven't heard anything negative about the platform. So they obviously aren't monitoring this board. There is nothing wrong with giving feedback.

I never once said there was something wrong with giving feedback. I just said don't expect a change anytime soon.
