awful! As I originally thought..... Major exaggeration. A few bum notes, sure.... but you failed to convince me.
Well not to say anything about the setlist but...if he played more recent songs, I think they may be in his 70 year vocal range more than some written 30-40 + years ago. He ignores his current songs too much.

To be fair that Zocalo show was literally rock bottom for Paul in terms of vocals, it's the worst I have ever heard him sound!

He sounded far worse in London last year.

It was a bad few months for Paul...let's leave it at that!!

Hm, for me his (semi-)acoustic parts are the highlight of the gig. Love it so much more than the 'Drive My Car' Abe Jr.-driven stadium rock he does 75% of the night. Wish he did more songs in a sparse arrangement.
I love the way he sings Blackbird by himself now -- and the way he sings Yesterday and Here Today (though I think it's time to retire the Here Today tribute since he's done it so often.) His old man voice transforms each of those pretty songs into a gorgeous lament. It's incredibly moving to see him up there by himself. If you're sitting there worried about him missing a note, you're kind of missing the point.

It depends on the night and the song. Some nights he is a bit...not great vocally, shall we say, and some nights he's spot on. He was phenomenal in St. Louis this fall, but I've seen him other times when I've literally winced.
ops: He's nowhere near Bob Dylan in terms of losing his vocal range (I wouldn't wish that kind of loss on anyone!), but he's also nowhere near the Paul of the 60's and 70's, either, and who in their right minds would expect a 70-year old man to be?
Your right! I think some do expect the 60's or 70's version Some nights better than others, I liked what I have heard in the last 10 or so years! No complaints.

That's a good question

It looks to me like there is a huge trench between the stage and the floor. Maybe the extend-o-stage thing rises up out of that and just goes UP really far and not so much into the floor?

The moving platform McCartney used in 1993 to have him "hover" over the audience was used at stadium shows. I know he did a handful of European arena shows on that tour, but I am not sure he used that effect in the arenas. Maybe someone here went and can clarify.
He used it at the Georgia Dome which is an indoor stadium used for the Atlanta Falcons football games.

And he used it in Las Cruces, NM. I wonder of this new tour will have a similar effect for outdoor shows, but maybe not used in arena shows.

I don't think Paul will choose one over the other. It'll be for both... Don't worry.
