"Ballroom dancing" would be superb to hear live. SUPERB!
Yes! Yes yes yes yes yes!
Keep dreaming!!!
I know, I know. But I can name a few even rarer songs we can only WISH for.... like what about the incredibly rare Hey Jude and The Long and Winding Road!? I know what you're thinking... you're thinking "dream on!" Why must Paul deprive us of these underrated gems?! He needs to cut out those overdone songs like Hope of Deliverance and bring these in!! What an amazing surprise! Also, why must a Beatle deprive us of all his Beatle hits?! We want to hear those every single time and they need to make 95% of the show. Why are his shows so Wings and solo heavy? And why doesn't Paul ever tell us those Hendrix stories? Oh, wait, sorry if I confused people because I'm sure most of you are completely unaware of those.
I think you meant to post that in the "opposite" thread. Where is that one? Must be around somewhere...

I'm thinking we'll get a few more "surprises" than I first thought. There are a lot of possibilities that have recently arisen...I'd place safe bets on... -Goodnight Tonight -Money (That's What I Want) -Coming Up -The Christmas Song -Wonderful Christmastime -Mull of Kintyre (Nearly the whole tour is Canadian!) And I think it would make sense for him to keep/ add the following more recent touring tracks... -Hope of Deliverance -My Valentine -The Word/ All You Need is Love
no on the Xmas song & Mull will stay in Canada.

I love Ballroom Dancing but there isn't a chance Paul could pull it off these days. It's an awesome vocal!

And probably a fun, rocking song to hear live!
-
I think he'll keep pulling in a Wings rarity or two as the Archives keep being released. I saw a video last week of Spin It On...love to hear that one now. Or Listen to What the Man Said from Venus and Mars.
-
I'd like to hear a cool cover... either Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey, Coquette, or Don't Get Around Much Anymore. Preferably the latter two. Don't be afraid to rip a cover or two. and do a cool Lennon song like Rain, or Ballad of John and Yoko. That would be a fab tribute to our dearly beloved. loosen things up a bit. that St Louis show is going to be the rockin good time. Also, Paul should do his song Pure Gold, and bring Ringo on. that would be sweet. I mean, what wouldn't be sweet? if he did Honey Pie I'd die laughing but it would still be sweet! I won't be at any of these new shows, but its fun to think about it for those who will be there. I envy ya'll. just don't forget to get drunk
-
Yes That would be cool. No covers for me but would love to hear the ones suggested.
-
While a live version of Oh! Darling would be awesome, I'd be shocked if Paul does it, since he really doesn't have the voice for it anymore. However, I'd love a Chuck Berry cover for the St. Louis show. Brown Eyed Handsome Man, maybe? Or just Johnny B. Goode. My question is, though, whether he'll do the Magical Mystery Tour or Hello, Goodbye version of the setlist (assuming he just does the standard On the Run setlist) at the St. Louis show. According to setlist.fm, he's done the Hello, Goodbye setlist 16 times, and the MMT setlist 15 times, so that suggests the MMT setlist for St. Louis if he's going to be very systematic about it.

It would make sense if picking between the two, to open with Magical Mystery Tour because last time he was there, he opened with Hello Goodbye. Last time he was in that part of Texas, he opened with Magical Mystery Tour, so it may be the reverse. The Canada shows are kinda up in the air....I'd like for him to just do Venus and Mars at all the shows this fall, since none of those cities have heard it since (maybe) 1976

Nowadays the touring fad is for the band to play one of its classic albums in its entirety. To name a few? Styx, Steely Dan, Motley Crue, and The Who have jumped on this bandwagon. If Paul McCartney were to perform one of his albums in its entirety, which one would you vote for? (this can include Beatles or Wings, not just solo) I'd have to vote for Hard Days Night. I know it's John heavy but he could pull it off. SO MANY catchy good tunes on that album.

Oh, God! Impossible! If I had to pick...I'd choose one of these (probably in this order...but the last 2 could swap if you ask me tomorrow)... 1. Flaming Pie 2. FITD 3. Ram ..... It doesn't matter which you pick - you miss some of his most amazing songs.

For a second there, I thought I'd clicked into illwobble's "alternative universe" thread.

while it may not be a popular choice with some of the younger generations, I would still have to pick two Beatle albums for my top two. 1- The White Album 2-Abbey Road 3-Ram
-
Beatles albums to do live; Sgt Pepper Abbey road Rubber Soul Wings/Solo; Band on the Run Flaming Pie Tug of War Being the 50th Anniversary, Paul may stick in' Love me do' or anything around 62/63 that hasn't been played in a while.
-
no please no Beatles albums.
-
I think it would be inappropriate for Paul to do any Beatles album in its entirety. And he doesn't really have a Wings or solo full album popular enough to go over well with a large audience.... Maybe Band Of The Run would be the ONLY album possible. If you do want to hear a Beatles album done live from start to finish, I do suggest getting tickets to see The Fab Faux... (it's the band featuring Conan O'Brien's bandleader Jimmy Vivino, as well as Will Lee, from David Letterman's house band.) They do the music better than anyone I've ever heard (outside of the real thing). And no cheesy costumes and wigs.... it's solely about the music. Seeing them in a few weeks. This time, they'll be doing Magical Mystery Tour from start to finish... Plus they fill out the set with random hits and deeper tracks. Expect to hear songs like Martha My Dear or Maxwell's Silver Hammer, alongside the usual suspects. (And they usually bring a string and horn section with them..... Wix is great, but there's nothing like hearing REAL instruments.) (PS - Do not confuse them with the Fab Four.... It's The Fab FAUX you want to see! )
-
Honestly, I would be dissapointed to hear any album in its entirety because there would be SO much left out. Even current Paul concerts, there is SO much left out....I couldn't pick one album that would do the whole body of work justice, and that is a good thing...artists like The Who, Steely Dan, Motley Crue...are letting themselves be defined by one album, not a lifetime of work.

I'm on it. Got front row center to see them in Carmel, Indiana in January. I thought they might be good when I bought the tix a few months ago, but your testimony sure solidifies my hopes of a stellar show.

I disagree completely and absolutely Performing a 40 minute complete album in a 150 minute show leaves plenty of room for other stuff. Elton John has a body of work bigger than Macca's and he still managed in 2005 to perform the (almost) full "Cpt. Fantastic" album live which spawned only 1 hit (Someone saved my life tonight). I'm sure Paul can do it as well. He's at that stage in his career where he should not be so desperate in giving people what they want up to the last sec.
