Btw, who's the DJ during the preshow? Is it the same guy from 2005?

A couple more details - I'll have to check the youtube vids when they start to appear, but I believe I was able to note 2 lyrical mistakes...one at the very end of Blackbird, and then a premature 'like a rabbit, gonna grab it' in Hi Hi Hi (towards the end of the first chorus go around, instead of at the end of the second verse)...Of course this didn't ruin a thing and in fact, as Paul often says 'Proves it's live' Signs: no one was called on stage tonight...he noted one sign that said 'I'm a Macc-aholic - and there is no cure' then a second sign that said 'the guy behind me can't see'...LOL Also - when I got home, I noticed an email from the Redsox Ticket site noting that due to inclement weather in NY, Paul arrived late and accordingly, was late conducting sound check - however, the show started tonight roughly the same time in started the last time he played Fenway - 8 PM...I think a lot of people took the 6:30 start time listed on the ticket serious because the place was packed probably a good half hour to 45 minutes prior to show time
Rich n, Thanks so much for the reports. I knew you would be there! With no other reports on this site, I was beginning to think there was a massive rain storm and the show was halted.

Some great reviews from the Fenway show. Boston Globe: An ageless Paul McCartney spins magic at Fenway http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/music/2013/07/09/mccartney-fenway-park/cBNK6k7Xj5VwCYQT0LnAtN/story.html?s_campaign=sm_tw Boston Herald: Rock legend Paul McCartney thrills packed Fenway Park http://bostonherald.com/entertainment/music/music_news/2013/07/rock_legend_paul_mccartney_thrills_packed_fenway_park The Globe reviewer called Paul's voice "marvelous." But this was an especially nice paragraph: Not enough can be said about McCartney?s four-piece, who provide their leader with everything from a celestial choir to white-hot guitar solos to crisp and hard-hitting time-keeping to ably serving as cheerful onstage foils. McCartney may be in a class of his own, still in possession of that ineffable quality that manages to be both mythic and accessible, but his band ? for whom he has clear affection ? plays a major role in keeping him on his toes.

Great show and even better, enthusiastic audience. We got there early and caught a lot of the sound check from outside. Don't recall every song during sound check, but it definitely included coming up, penny lane, celebration, match box, honey don't, c moon and that San Francisco Bay song from unplugged (don't recall the exact title) No need for me to describe the set list, just will mention he was in great voice and most everyone sang along. Will report better detail when I have my lap top in hand(vs my iPhone)
Just wanted to add a minor note that Midnight Special was also performed during sound check....and Michelley, thanks a lot for the articles...pretty much sums up my thoughts

That was the best McCartney show I've seen. Incredible. Really blown away.

Three words for last night: Un-fucking-believable. That was, without QUESTION, the best concert I've ever been to. I won't bore everyone with any details, other than the fact that I am still buzzing about it 10 hours later. Amazing. Flawless. And none of that is hyperbole, simply fact.
