Looking around, found this extra detail: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/sir-paul-mccartney-stages-impromptu-covent-garden-gig-from-the-back-of-a-truck-8889739.html Apparently a Girls School from the Midlands had travelled to perform a recital in St Paul's Church that afternoon and Paul popped in to say hi after his impromptu gig: Further details on the link above. Marshall Arts seem to have culled it from elsewhere - does anybody recognise the page format - it's a Saturday glossy or entertainment supplement of a newspaper. If they have an on-line form it might be better there. Update: It's i a tabloid version of the The Independant newspaper. Obviously the Saturday edition. Martin
Thanks Martin I wish i'd bought the paper on Saturday, i'll have to make do with the tiny pic.

Of course, the comments are always derogatory! What is wrong with people?!

Those folks have nothing useful to do. McCartney gave money to the cause!! Do they expect him to carry a million pounds with him?? How stupid! I think it was very cool of him to drop in on the choirs and hang out. He could have just left. He didn't. Very nice of Paul indeed.

Paul doesn't broadcast his altruism - while a small donation went over there and then, we will never know if that was the end of it. and quite rightly so, it's none of our business - nor that of anyone else. Martin

How lucky for the London and NYC people to hear Paul play!! To hear so many songs off this new album... how FAB is that? I'm so happy to hear all of the songs off the new album. Just got to listen with headphones today and that was really very enjoyable!! I LOVE this NEW album so much!!! It was so exciting going into the music store today and hearing Queenie Eye come on over the loud speaker!! Just had to dance to it

Paul has released on YouTube a short film featuring both the Covent Garden gig and the HMV signing:
Who's caught on film? MartinThe girl crying is my daughter and that's me behind her as she meets Paul, a fantastic experience for us both, a dream come true, I have met Paul a few times, in 2008 at HMV myself and a few very special friends made it our goal for Layla my daughter to meet him. To have that meeting captured on film is unbelievable.

^ How very sweet & special, Riggers!

It was and believe me, seeing my daughter meet him is only a fraction of this fantastic story. It was like a dream come true. You couldn't have wrote it better. I can't thank paul and his team enough.
