experienced concert-goers: if the official time on the concert is 8:00 PM, when is the first note of the first song most likely to be played?

I want to get to the Winnipeg show but it's 6 hours away and I don't know if this is feasible.

My general experience in the past is that he usually starts 30-40 minutes late.  However, if you wait until the last minute,  (and you're driving), you'll likely be stuck in traffic trying to get in and find parking and miss a good hour or so.  Getting there early is better.

          When he's done "freshening up"

          When you're wide awake,
          Say it for goodness sake
It's gonna be a great day...

I would rather be 2 hours early than 5 minutes late. If you are driving and checking into a hotel, you need to get to the hotel, check in, eat,  then take a taxi to the venue. That’s what I did in 2013. Drove from Louisville, KY to Memphis, TN. I had to leave real early because I had Hot Sound Package and had to check in at 4 pm.  You need to arrive by 6 if you drive yourself, or 7/7:30 if you arrive by taxi. If you want to see/hear the pre-show music/video, best to arrive by 6. Then if you want to buy any merchandise, subtact another hour!

P.S. Most of the time, doors open at 6:30 pm.

Typically very, very close to 8:35pm, based on my experience...take it for what it is worth.

If Paul intends to play a three hour show, then, for the London 02 Arena show for example, he'll need to take the stage by 8pm at the latest as there is a 11pm curfew at that venue (10.30pm on a Sunday although that won't apply for this Decembers show). If he takes to the stage late then chances are he'll start cutting songs to catch up.

8-11 is what he did the previous two times I've seen him at the O2. Really sad to see people looking at their watches and having to leave circa 1030 (to catch 'last trains' to outlying areas) because they didn't know it went on so late, so make arrangements that you can get to wherever you are staying (tubes to central London will be fine post-show)

                      From my experiences:

                      Concert 1 (Out There): 8:50

                      Concert 2 (Out There): 8:30

Concert 3 (One on One): 8:25

Concert 4 (One on One): 8:00

I think it depends on how long his setlist is, as most tended to end right at 11pm. I agree with Nancy though - it's best to arrive a couple of hours earlier than to be late for the start.
