Lol! Can somebody tell the man he has a #1 album
Very true !! I think most other artists would not only play more songs from a #1 album, they might even open the concert with a song from that album - what a novel concept (note sarcasm - lol)

This all seems so confusing to me...Verified Fan....Laminates....Codes....Facebook "hints", etc. Isn't there a way we could buy tickets the normal way? Jeez.
When will the next set of dates be announced?
And now, Ticketmaster Verified Resale too.
The same day tickets go on sale, you'll find a lot of those selling at crazy prices.
Was it always this hard in the UK and US to score tickets with TM on previous tours?
I thought I'd never say this, but I miss Crowdsurge
I'm scared, what if I don't receive my ticket I bought from ticketmaster for a Paul concert next year, because of Hurricane Florence, where I live. Supposed to get it via snail mail. I bought it the day the Raleigh concert tix went on sale, just a few days before Hurricane Florence hit, I think. So it's not been that long since I bought it in a phone call, had to deal w/ an automated voice. It looks like Water World here now. I like your profile pic of Paul, btw...he looks sleepy or something, LOL, distracted, drowsy maybe...he doesn't look like he's thinking "Ooooh I'm so good looking," which I like about him. Cause he was and is good looking but didn't usually act vain and conceited about his looks, I don't think. Maybe sometimes. But some would have been that way almost all the time. Vain and all. Conceited.
Don't worry about your ticket, if it doesn't arrive surely you can call TicketMaster and they will give you other options like getting it at the box office the night of the show.
At least that's what TicketMaster UK offer me. I'm travelling from Argentina to see Paul in December and they haven't dispatched the tickets yet, so I was (still am, really) worried not to get them before my flight.
About my profile picture: he is probably stoned

I definately want a floor seat when Paul adds Los Angeles. So how would a hot sound gold or silver seat run for? I just want a seat close enough to where I can see him up close, does not have to be first or second row I was thinking maybe maybe rows 4-6 wou!d be close enough. Can someone give me a n estimate so I kn ow how much to save up for? I think I can afford. one $1600 ticket for that spot. I just know he is going to add Los Angeles next !!!!! I can strongly feel it!
Hot Sound Package, rows 3-7 will run you $1600 per ticket. Gold VIP was $700 for me, but I am not on the floor. Those may cost more, like $850. Don’t know how much Silver VIP is, but maybe $100-$200 less than Gold.
Got to give you all credit, I could not even imagine paying that much for one ticket to anything.
Paul is worth every penny in my opinion for that amount. I would never spend that much on a concert ticket to see another musician or band. Only for Paul would I spend $1600 and possibly get called up on stage would be even mor e worth while to pay for too! I just hope I have enough saved up by the time he announces Los Angeles or San Diego dates! I would LOVE to attend his sound check!
I’m with her - there isn’t anyone else in the world I’d pay that kind of money to see. I don’t spend my “disposable income” on alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, or fancy dinners. Just Paul and other Beatle-related events like AROTR and tribute bands. The last concert I went to see that was not Paul was Bruce Springsteen in 2002! (I did go on the 2018 Flower Power cruise which had a lot of ‘60s bands, but I was there mainly for the 3 Beatles tribute bands, The Fab Four, BritBeat and The Jukebox Beatles)
Yes and also think of all that fancy equipment Paul uses for his concerts, huge T.Vs, fancy stage lights, fireworks etc! I cannot think of other bands or musicians who.can put on a fabulous show like Paul can! And not only that Paul interacts with his audience, inviting us on stage when he picks a lucky fffan etc. How many other bands and musicians do that? Not many I can possibly think of! That is why Paul is worth paying that much for really good seats. I barely go to concerts because non of the other bands interest me only Paul catches my full attention.
He is awesome live but I don't pay money to see somebody get called up on the stage for their couple of moments of "fame". That is great for the indiviual person and good for them but I pay money to hear him sing/play and not to sign somebody's arm etc. To each their own.

Yankeefan...as I said on another post, if I would have paid all kinds of money to attend the Quebec Show (the first proper tour concert after Egypt Station goes to #1 in America) I would have been furious. It all goes back to "preparation" and putting the time in. After digesting now the last 3rd of the album (Despite Repeated Warnings is yet another masterpiece on ES) how can you just perform 3 songs...2 of which are the "commercial" tracks that aren't close to the best songs on ES. I'm surprised that he did "Who Cares".
All it would have taken is some rehearsals with the Band several months ago to show the world that his shows are not an "oldies" Beatles' fest. He includes the 4-5 Seconds song just to prove that he is still "hip" and has worked with Kanye and Rihanna. But the fact is that he has a #1 Album on the Billboard Chart proves that he is still relevant for his songwriting and he virtually ingnores it. There are easily 8-10 songs on ES that blows "4-5 Seconds" away. I hate to say it. but Paul is just mailing it in for the "true" fans that attend his show. To do 6-8 of the really great songs on ES, you have to put the work in. It's not that Paul is anything close to lazy, but he has this fixation on his Beatles' past and doesn't realize that the true fans love a lot of his Solo work and they want to hear more of it "live". Such a shame.

Yankeefan, relative to the setlist...you make a great point about the opener. There is where he should "set the stage" that this is going to be a real "Freshen Up". Macca has a #1 Billboard Top 200 Album. Why not start the show with an ES song like he did back in 1990 with Figure of 8 for the Flowers in the Dirt tour. Nothing wrong with letting the audience know that he is proud of ES. "Come On To Me" would be a good opener because it is on the charts and most people have at least heard it by now.
Looking at the Setlist...it's not the last third of the show that is the problem in my opinion. Nothing wrong with finishing up the show with his classic Beatle and Wings stuff. It is the beginning and middle that's the problem in my opinion. For example:
In Spite of All the Danger - he's had this in the Acoustic part of the Setlist for too long now...this is a perfect spot for "Confidante". This is a great song and relatively easy to play.
Let "em In - another example of Paul dragging out a Wings' song that he has done countless times. Why not another ES song like People Want Peace.
Let Me Roll It - how long is Paul going to keep dragging out this one. He and the Band can do it in their sleep and Paul's vocal is poor on it. Why not a great new ES song like Dominoes.
My Valentine - good song but he has been playing it for some time now. How about "Happy With You" as a tribute song to Nancy.
4-5 Seconds - I've given my feeling about this one on the previous post. "I Don't Know" or "Do It Now" would be far better choces.
For the Benefit of Mr. Kite - How about a Beatles' song you have never done before like "Martha My Dear" or "When I'm 64". I don't care if Wix plays the piano. Just do a great Beatles' song you've never done before.
Anyway, this is the kind of "freshen" up setlist that I would go miles to see and pay a lot of money. Any when you have a #1 Album that's both a critical and commercial success, there's no excust for not playing 8 songs or so from it. As I said, if I paid lots of money and saw the kind of setlist that he played last night, I would be furious.

To take these two in isolation, it's interesting to note that he's not played the former in the UK since Glastonbury back in 2004 (execpt for two special shows at Abbey Road in 2005) and the latter hasn't been played in the UK since 2010.
I know he plays America every year and sorry to hear you think the setlist is boring and repetitive, but the UK gets shows twice a decade if we're lucky!

Johnny, you make a good point being from the UK. I am speaking from my American experience at attending many shows over the years (since 1990).
As I mentioned, I don't have a problem with some repetition. I totally get Paul playing his "signature" Beatles' and Wings' songs like he does for the 1st timers and casual fans in the last third of the Show. But I think any big time Macca fan who likes Egypt Station like I do (no matter where they live) would have a problem with only 3 songs from this highly critical and commercially successful album.

Thank you. It's DJ Holmes like the other tour I read on newspaper. How long is it ?
You know, I don’t really know as the past 3 times I was at dinner after soundcheck so didn’t get to my seat until almost 8 pm! I think it must start as soon as the doors open after soundcheck, which is usually about 7 pm. Paul is always late and the show will start close to 8:30 pm.

McCartney stated in 1989 that he opened up with "Figure Of Eight" because he wanted to show the audience he was still a "relevant" artist. The same should be true today, opening with "Come On To Me" would say to the audience that I am still "relevant", have the number #1 allbum in the country and damn proud of it. Really, would any first timer be crushed if he replaced any of those songs with songs from "Egypt Station". It is not like he is not playing "Hey Jude" for example - lol.

From an interview will Billboard from Sept 19th. 2018:
You're in the middle of tour dates, and you're playing some songs from the new album on tour. I think you're playing, like, three or so? Will they change each night?
PAUL: We're doing three at the moment, 'cause you know why? 'Cause we didn't have that long to rehearse, and we're putting other things in the show. So it's a question of learning 'em. 'Cause you know, you write the thing, and then you go and record it. And when you record it, obviously it's a certain arrangement, so now you've got to reproduce it faithfully, you've got to learn that arrangement all over again. So we've learned three. We've got another one that we've nearly got. So they're gradually coming onboard. And then we may be able to change them up in that case.

Ok, the question will be will he do more than three songs or just rotate the others once they "learn" more. Maybe I am a cynic but can it really be that hard for a rock icon like McCartney and his touring band of more than 15 years to"learn" a song so it can be done live in a short period of time. Anyway, hope there will be more than three Egypt Station songs in the set list soon.

Very true which is amazing. If I was him and played 25 Beatle/Wings hits every night, I think I would feel I satisfied my audience and the other remaining 10 songs I would do what I darn wanted to play and if the audience is a bit more quiet after those songs it would not really bother me.

For him to say they didnt have much time to rehearse is a horrible excuse. Schedule the dates in a time frame where you CAN rehearse. Don't make people buy the album, spends tons on tix, then rehash the same set with only 3 new songs. Awful.

unfortunately he don't thinks (or feel) like "us" fans And he seems to lost the persuasion that the majority of his current outputs aren't equivalent to the most beatle stuff. The "concert Paul" of 1993, 1989 or 1976 is unfortunately long ago history. To recognize this is as one side but to accept that a song like in spide of all the danger is more important for him than songs like Put it there, Own it all to you or Happy with you on the other side is barely comprehensible for fans who likes all his songs from 1957-2018.
