Ringo and All Starr Band in Kansas City - 9/3/2018
-
Had a great time seeing Ringo with the All Starr Band at Starlight Theatre last night! He sang: "Matchbox" (Carl Perkins cover), It Don't Come Easy, What Goes On, Boys (sung just as great as during Beatles heyday!), Don't Pass Me By, Yellow Submarine, You're Sixteen, Anthem for Peace, I Wanna Be Your Man, Photograph, Act Naturally, With a Little Help From My Friends.
Highlights of the show were 1) when he said hi to a little boy who had made a sign "Hi Ringo" (see below); 2) asking to borrow a fan's hat from the audience (which he put on) to sing "Act Naturally" (see second clip below); 3) enthusiastically singing "Boys" from his drum stand... could almost hear what it must have been like to hear Paul and George sing Bop Bop a Shuwop into their mikes while Ringo was singing that in 1964 ... and could imagine how the girls must have screamed during the song, lol... and 4) Always love to see him do his "Ringo Jacks" (as i like to call them) instead of jumping jacks, that he does during the last moments of "With a Little Help from My Friends", lol
All in all a fantastic evening! With all the great music of Toto, Santana, Men at Work, and 10cc too!

Just once in 1997. I save my $ for Paul!

I'll pass on Ringo this time around, as I have seen him 4-5 times over the years. His "all stars" he currently has dont measure up to his first few all star bands. Not even close.

I guess I was interested in this particular concert because I had never seen Ringo live before, and didn't want to miss the opportunity. I'm glad I went, and had a great time! Would I go to another concert of his in the future? Yes! Ringo is 78 now and we don't know how long he's going to be performing in the future, hopefully for several more years yet, but would always like to show support for Ringo!

Saw Ringo and The All-Starr Band in 2010 at Greek Theater in L.A. That version had Gary Wright - "Dream Weaver", and Edgar Winter - "Frankenstein", and Rick Derringer too - "Hang On Sloopy" among others. It was an awesome concert! It's great that's he's still wowing 'em in 2018!

We are going to see Ringo & his ASB on the 28th in San Jose. Just on a whim, bought tickets just this morning through Ticketmaster, was shocked to see so many tickets still available. Poor Ringo.
Looking forward to it, haven't seen them for about 5 years when there were different members of the ASB.
