Give Peace A Chance in Paris :

Nice video, I think I was able to spot myself...note to self, next time wear a brighter t-shirt Anyway we now have a audio clip and a video to figure out what he says!
-
Paul looks over to the side of the stage when dedicating Queenie Eye to Gracie and Zoe so I'd assume they are in the audience...whoever they are!

Hello, my short review of the Paris concert, including a few photos: http://www.the-paulmccartney-project.com/2016/05/the-paris-concert-short-review/ Pretty proud of this one :

Ok, here is a song he sounds great on, is upbeat and a hit for him. But he won't play it live in the main set. However, he plays Four Five Seconds, an inferior song he sounds horrible on. Is anybody guiding this ship?? Thanks for posting that, it was fun!
-
Love watching the band teach him his own song! He seems quite reluctant to believe that the error was his but shrugs his shoulders at the end as if to say "well ok if you say so!"
-
Look at the fun they are having... Same with the brand new and brilliant acoustic in the middle. It can be done. Fully rehearsed. Being fine-tuned during soundchecks. Gold in Germany. Not played in regular sets. :

Just listened to a sample of 'Birthday' from one of the tapes, and I realised that after Abe Jr. ghosting more and more vocally, they now just decided to push his vocals all the way back in the mix...?!
I noticed the same thing and could have posted what you did verbatim.

I cannot believe he would ever say "sorry." And in public! But there it is...recorded. It is now on a loop so I can play it non-believers on my phone.

Why not play to his own strengths? I'm just as puzzled.

I've absolutly no words too. it's simply inconceivable especially in the case for the conerts here in germany :

They are re-re-rehearsing the song, going through it once again and are fine-tuning it! For what? It would've been as easy as slotting soundcheck song 'Letting Go' back into the show. The new acoustic block is almost made for this setting. #13 in France, #9 in The Netherlands, #7 in Belgium, #5 in Switzerland, #4 in Austria, #4 in Norway, #3 in Germany, #1 in Spain. His last huge (and year end list making) hit single in The Netherlands (and surely elsewhere in Europe), his only and last top 10-hit since 'We All Stand Together' as well. Gold (250,000 copies) in Germany!

They went through the same rehearsal fine tuning as you call it at the Birmingham soundcheck from last year. Check it out on youtube. It's bloody mind boggling!

Possibly the song is played to please the people who pay $$$ for the soundcheck....

I know! If it's a brand new song they are trying to figure out to perform soon in a live setting, fair enough. But this I won't ever understand.

Do you think that "imprompru" conference after HOD is orchestrated to show the soundcheckers they are a working band? Could it be purely for show? (Serious question)

I'm pretty cynical these days, but I really can't believe that. If they wanted to act like that, McCartney would have countless of genuine options to do something like that. From a run-through of a yet unreleased song - 'Demons Dance', open-air Bonnaroo rehearsal - to a quick intro of a never performed song - 'Martha My Dear', private Budokan rehearsal - and everything in between.
