I see that No.10 best solo is George's live guitar solo on "Sweet Little Sixteen" from Hamburg 1962.  Excellent sound.  Is there a proper recording of the Hamburg days???  They really rocked out.  Would love to hear all of it.  (Not sure I agree with the top 10 in this particul list, but hey,....)

If by “proper” you mean in the studio, the answer is no. The only studio work they did was with Tony Sheridan (billed as The Beat Brothers because Beatles sounded too much like Peedles which in German is the plural of penis!)

The Live At the Star Club album was recorded on a home tape machine in 1962 and bootlegged in 1977.

Although the studio recording they did of My Bonnie with Sheridan has a killer guitar solo too! Not sure if that was Harrison though. Sheridan was a great guitar player himself.

It is on Anthology 1. Check in the album notes and see if they list who plays lead.

Good idea. It says Sheridan sang and plays lead, and Harrison played the opening lead guitar passage. With Paul on Bass and background shouts, with John Lennon and Pete Best also.

Thank you.  I beleive it's also on the BBC recordings.  I thought maybe the Hamburg recording had somehow been enhanced.  The version played sounds pretty good!  That's what I meant by "proper."
