Steffen72:
Bob, always great to get your news... What is your gutt feeling - new album Q1, Q2, Q3 and do you really think Paul will be back with One on One Part 2 (incl new album tracks) ? After Japan, Australia....maybe be European Arenas in autumn/winter 2017?? So looking fwd to your feedback.... nice upcoming weekend
Capital Deal starts July 2017 and I Would think the new album would be it's first release. Makes sense to me to start with a bigger splash. Obviously the Hollywood Bowl cd's are coming as I received my shipping notice today Ron Howard film hits theaters here in the US on September 15th. I would expect a rather short run of a week or two and then the official release in time for our Christmas Stockings As for the Flowers in the Dirt Archive, not as easy to predict. I think we will see it prior to the Capital Deal but could see it pushed into next here (but I certainly hope not) my hope is that they push it out for Christmas as well with a late Oct/Nov release. If the timing of the Possible Japan/Australia shows (and mind you, I have no definitive info that they will be next) that they might land in April or before and that would be a continuance of the One on One tour. I think from there he would continue with the same tour at least until the release of the new album. At that point, anyone's guess whether the tour name stays the same. My personal thought would be that it probably would remain as he adds a few songs to the setlist. From what I hear, Desert Trip will finish the shows for this year. A slight possibility of a surprise yet.

That sounds like textbook Macca-logic to me. I also think we'll likely get FITD before the year is out. I suspect any dates that appear in the spring (regardless of location) will definitely still be One on One. Japan would make sense as they haven't seen it yet...and who knows what the hell is going on with Australia. Anyway, I'd guess that if the deal starts in July we'll get a new album then too...like you say, make a splash...instantly followed by the standard of US stadiums and/or arenas in July and August. Sounds good to me!

and who knows what the hell is going on with Australia.
Now there's a statement that isn't just confined to Paul!

timeline makes sense to me. I am hoping that the FITD archive comes this year. We know it's done from Elvis Costello's recent interview. He has seen the set, artwork and all and describes it as "lush". Also, for those who don't know....more remixes of "Nineteen Hundred Eighty Five" has been released on vinyl and Digital. This one has a purple cover. And for the completists, there is an extended UK DJ only mix out there

I think this will come out this year, as well; if he's finishing the contract with Concord as of 2016, it makes sense for it to come out during this calendar year. As for the Ron Howard movie - my guess is DVD not available until it stops streaming on Hulu? Or will it be available there indefinitely? Not sure how long things stay up on Hulu. and thanks for your insight!

Don't drummers sit while performing?
Yeah, most of them (except Sheila E!)
She only stands sometimes when she uses her cocktail kit. She sits when she is at her full drum kit.

Didn't know that. I've only seen her standing!

Bob & All, 1 My dream is that Macca has still one big big super hit (Melody/song) already in his backhand. I mean a few older acts had here and there a surprising number one hit album and single. I know radio normally ignores, CD market changed etc - we all discussed it for years. BUT I think Macca wants one more huge hit before he retires and maybe we will see it soon? the big Comeback in charts! 2 I interviews Macca said that he was worried about his voice during the first gigs at the one on one tour. In youtube it sounded bad. During my concerts I was happy with his voice - related to his age - he is not god, so fine and human. I was at around 30 concerts since 1989 and even then he had here and there bad voices in 1989+1993... This topic we also discussed a lot. - Question now - does he really risks to go out on the road again for a bigger leg? Or its the comeback of the piece by piece concept "up and coming" Cheers & happy weekend to All

Hi Steffen, 1. Although it is always possible that Paul will write another great song but the state of music charts and cd sales makes it highly improbable that he would reach #1 on the charts. CD sales are way down even for today's most popular artists. Paul's base fans are not the ones who will all need to buy his album immediately. Majority are older with many more priorities than purchasing cd's. If he picked a week where there was little competition, he could score a short lived #1 album still. As fans, we all hope that a major hit will still come, but the deck is stacked against him. Not impossible but near impossible 2. Yes, at times there are issues with Paul's voice. He is 74 year old rock singer so folks need to get over tha. It is what it is and on many nights it's pretty darn good. As far as bigger legs, those days are long gone. Since 2009 his touring has been from 22-40 per year with it usually landing in the early 30's. I don't see him breaking that pattern. He usually only averages 6 or 7 shows per month so not highly straining and does not do many back to back shows. This is the model he has been using and he will no doubt continue this way. Benefits for him is that he gets plenty of rest and more importantly the half of the month he does not tour is spent with custody of Beatrice

So...what's on the horizon?
-
Someone posted a rumour about an east coast city for May of next year but that post has disappeared, unless I dreamed it. I haven't heard a single thing myself.

Just a suggestion, Paul: http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/158724/red-bull-arena-hires-bettie-levy-to-book-concerts- RED BULL ARENA plans to host concerts and live entertainment events beginning in 2017 at the venue located in HARRISON, NJ. The 25,000-seat, two-level stadium is home to the NEW YORK RED BULLS of MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER.

Canada will be celebrating its 150 anniversary; how about coming here to help us celebrate. We'd love to have you

It's been almost four years since Houston, 3+ since Austin, 23 since San Antonio (besides the extremely limited audience two years ago), and two years since Dallas and Lubbock. Meanwhile, Philly three times within a year? I want Paul to come back to the south in 2017.
-
if he doesn't come to Australia in early 2017 then its never going to happen again which sucks as he was last here in 1993!

Yeah how unbalanced is that? he probably can't get a venue here in San Antonio bc the Spurs are dominating our dojo but there's that arena in Corpus by the beach he could try if the couple million ppl of the Rio Grande Valley ever merit a show.

So, this teacher has hit a point in her school year where she's tired, cranky, and in desperate need of something to look forward to. Any 2017 tour rumors? I'm clinging onto hope now. It's only October, but a tough school year so far. I need some McBrightness in my life

Absolutely! Couldn't agree more!!

I feel it in my bones, 2017 will be the year I get signed! Or, he won't tour and I'll just be sad forever. Either way, I got to see him twice this year which makes me pretty lucky.

If Australia is ever going to happen again it will be in early 2017 as that's our summer. If not then it will never happen, unless we get to see him when he is 80 and whispering songs.
I'm in Perth. do you think there is any chance Paul will tour Australia in 2017? there are only 2 artists that I haven't seen live that I want to see, Paul & David Gilmour. I'm also a BOWIE fan, I saw David twice on the Reality tour. when he passed away this year I was gutted I feel so fortunate that I got to see David live. I'd love to see Paul, if he does tour here, I'll yell out loud if it's announced!
