Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors
-
If rumor is correct, it'll be Japan tv on New Year's. What it will be, still question. I definitely advise caution as not from one of my good sources. Plus I tried to independently confirm the info with a net search and nothing. So take all with grain of salt! Guess we'll find out soon!

Thanks, Bob, appreciate any rumours about anything at this point.

Hello Bob, Hope you are fine... What are your expectations, gutt feelings.... - release date new album - earliest, latest? - will Macca continue touring in 2017? - any chance of Europe again? Naples, Barcelona? Uk? Or even big bang and announcement of farewell tour in line with album? I saw him around 35x live since 89 and i had the impression he knows its time to stop soon.... Happy new year
-
I think that we could see the last big tour in 2017-18. He could hit up highlights- UK Southern US South America Japan Australia Western US Maybe one or two Canada or Northeast US shows I think the 2017 tour would kick off in South America, followed by US, then Europe, then Australia in the fall and end in Japan. Do a final Liverpool or London show in the spring. I still want him to do a small theatre tour like he's talked about, but it probably won't happen.

I am great Steffen, thanks for asking....wow....lots of questions. We are really too early on to know for sure As far as new album....earliest May/June......latest October/November are my guesses From what I am hearing he will be touring this year I don't thinks it's farewell, from all accounts he still loves performing too much As of this point, everywhere has a shot at this point. A lot of chatter points at Japan in April....and I would find it hard to believe that he wouldn't do Australia. After that, it's anybody's guess right now. I think a lot of it will depend on the new album release. Australia has my prayers and best wishes, it's been so long they deserve some shows! All guesses right now as things have been quiet What we do know is Flowers in the Dirt Archive March 24th!

It's been quite awhile now since a big tour. Since 2009 the average number of shows per year is 30-35. And that by no means are big tours. But they do work for his schedule and continuing to give him the needed rest. April looks very likely to be Japan.....those rumors have been strong since August that he was returning in 2017. So I'd bet my chips there. Everywhere else has been dead quiet, no rumors, no whispers, no nothing. Only other rumors floating is possibility of Australia.. we have heard that scout teams may have checked out venues... Still not a solid lead for anything. But I think that it shouldn't be too long until things start breaking....

Bob...with "Flowers..." coming out in late March, wouldn't you say it's more likely we'll see Paul's new studio album released in the second half of 2017?

It makes sense for him to begin the next tour leg in Japan. Ticket sales are excellent over there, which is why he always schedules multiple concerts. Besides, it's a market that hasn't seen the One On One tour yet.

I don't think these archive sets generate enough sales to deviate a new album release more than a month or two. But these folks at MPL are tough to figure out on occasion and zig when you thought they would zag

I do have some flexibility in my travel plans but from your response I gather Japan may be leaning more towards the end of April if it happens? We'll wait and see I guess.

I only said farewell from large tours. I doubt we'll see him retire from tours anytime soon, but he may want to scale it back to 10-15 arena shows a year so he has time to do more writing, smaller theatre shows that he's talked about, Pappy and Harriet's style surprise gigs, etc. Purely speculation

We've said goodbye to large tours 10-12 years ago. They've been gone. At this point the 30-35 shows he does is fine right now. His energy level is still high and he usually does only 6-7 shows average a month giving him plenty of rest. You will never see small theater tours, a one off here and there but that's it IMO. One thing Macca doesn't do well is change. if he was to go down to 10-15 shows, it would probably be the end of him touring at all

....great, reading all your thoughts....thanks! A bit more live here....ð??? Hm Bob lets hope for May, June and hopefully the album is a great one. I am sure, if he looks at his shelves he has so many great tunes as demos to finalize and he could prob even do a fantastic dbl album with just few fillers. What i recognised in Berlin concert this year for the first time was a bit of melancholy and sadness with Paul. Maybe he knows the clock is running or he knows that his voice is getting worse and might be risky for future tour plans.....or song choices or critics.....concert reviews or even more human as we all se year by year....where are our years gone? All in all i am so thankful that since 89 i had the chance to see him a lot incl many album releases.... By the way do you know the tunes of angus and julia stone? Especially the album a book like this and down the way....their melodies are great!!!!! .or david munyon....both would be imo great to see writing with macca..... All happy sylvester ð???

Congratulations to my friends in Japan!! Besides celebrating a Happy New Years, although I think Paul did not appear, tough to understand my friend. But a banner on the Japan promoter's webpage has started a countdown timer. When sent to me...t minus 31 minutes! Now counter over 14 hours and counting down http://outthere-japantour.com I know it says out here but counter is clicking down
-
Hmm, interesting. Though I'm not getting a countdown clock when I visit that site. I've tried a couple of different browsers and when I translated it, it said something to the effect of 'Please wait until the countdown is over.'
