Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors

If he were going to tour anywhere in South America in April-May, rumors would have started weeks ago, as that info is always leaked by local promoters to the press in advance. I don't know what it's like in Central America and Mexico, do they remain quiet until the last moment? Promoters in the US, UK, Europe and Canada are much better at keeping secrets, so my bet is that the next batch of announcements will be for concerts in those regions, perhaps Europe/UK in May-June and US/Canada anytime between May and August.
There are rumors for South America that start just a few weeks before Paul confirms it. Just some examples: first rumor for the Rio concerts in 2011 started on March 11th and the official announcement was on April 7th (27 days). And the rumors for Cariacica in 2014 started on September 15th and Paul confirms it on October 13th (28 days). Last year, first solid rumor for Argentina was on March 16th and become official in April 4th (19 days). Bob Gannon posted a few days ago that might be 2 more shows in Japan/Asia. That being said, I think Paul will only back to stage after the first half of May. In my opinion, we can wait for some rumors until the middle of March. After that, then we can say there won't be shows in SA in May.
What about Bob??? Bob, we need some solid "rumors", anything at all new ?

There's definitely a new record coming, no question about that. Maybe Paul's taking a traditional approach this year and doing the PR for the album and then announcing a legitimate TOUR and not leaking out a date today and another tomorrow...what a beautiful thing THAT Would be!

oh do I wish

It would be something! Life Festival Oswiecim in Poland (motto of this festival is Peace and Love [so Paul would love it]) still didn't announced headliner for 23.06.2017. In past whole festival with both headliners was known since December/January. They don't want to announce next headliner till end of the March or something. I don't know if that mean anything.. On the second day there are Scorpions, last year it was Elton John and Queen + Adam Lambert. What do you think, is it possible? Even there wasn't any rumours about touring Europe

They'll probably get Ringo! "Peace and Love, Peace and Love!"
-
I think so too But Ringo is scared with this all terrorist attacks in Europe, so he wasn't there by some years.
-
I try to be optimistic and believe that we'll see Paul in Europe this summer

I like your optimism and I hope you are right! Just a few thoughts: 1) He has a new album out this year, so maybe that will change his usual touring schedule. 2) He toured Latin America quite extensively between 2010 and 2014 (plus 3 shows in Argentina last year). Since 2015 he seems to be giving that market a rest in order to focus on Europe, which did not get too many concerts during 2010-2014. 3) Paul's shows in Latin America during this decade have always happened either in April/May or in November, but since 2015 he stopped doing concerts in November. If no concerts in the region are confirmed for May, it's possible he will not be here this year, just like in 2015. 4) In the past couple of years there have been rumors of cities that were supposedly being considered by MPL (Salvador, Manaus, Cuiab?, Natal, Curitiba, Recife, Belo Horizonte) and a promoter even mentioned in a newspaper interview that negotiations were underway for Salvador. That doesn't mean any of those cities will ever be confirmed. Of course he can still surprise us and announce concerts anywhere/anytime he wants, so let's hope for the best!

I imagine that he occasionally still does it. That was probably because he got more requests than he could handle

Yeah, man. Perhaps you're right, in fact. But I would like to comment your points: 1) Yeah, maybe he changes the tour schedule because of the new album, but it would not be the pattern. When he released "New" in 2013 the tour continued normally. And he also did some special performances playing the new songs. 2) We have to remember that he came twice to South America in 2014. I think the November 2014 concerts can represent the year 2015. 3) Why not in October? I think the fact that he performed in South America in November was only because it was the month he usually finish the tour. 4) I remember the rumor about Salvador. It's been a while ... Although we're already on page 31 of this thread, we still didn't hear any rumors for 2017. So, any place has a chance at this point. And I believe until the last breath. We never know with Paul, except the setlist

Yes, not a lot but he does still sign things. Sorry, we went off topic a bit!

Ringo does sign things, but it's mainly for charity. Now about those tour dates, Paul...

Are there any sources for this assumption? Ringo has always neglected the old continent (no concerts between 1998 and 2011) and 9-11 didn't really stop him from performing in the U.S. I think it is purely a financial decision and the lack of large casino-resorts, where Ringo seems to be performing most in North America, here in Europe.

Hamish Stuart:

Yes, few months ago I read some information about it, but can't find it right now. It is something like Paul Anka, who postponed his European tour for eternity

It's an interesting way to see it, and a valid argument.

Another interesting and valid point of view. Let's hope so!

Let's just say that wherever and whenever he plays, the crowd will still be subject to Maybe I'm Amazed
