Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors

I hope the Jazzfest rumor is true. I'd absolutely make the trip.

True, but JazzFest is one of the few large music festivals that he hasn't played yet, so maybe it's time. He can easily be a Sat. or Sun. night headliner. And maybe that's not when Bea's break is this year.
If it does happen, it should be quite interesting. For example, he could call some of the festival's jazz musicians onstage for a song or two. After all, he did invite the Kronos String Quartet to play "Yesterday" with him back in 2013 at the Outside Lands festival:
Yesterday with the Kronos Quartet was a beautiful thing to witness in person!

Australia. A rumour. Hey, did I tell you I got a nice email from MA wishing me Happy New Year?
I just woke up, so my brain is not working 100% yet. Who is MA?
Mashall Arts? Or have I completely invented that company? It is 4:30AM here and my brain isn't working 100% either.
Yep, Marshall Arts.
: I still don't know what that is! I've heard of Martial Arts and then there is the company Marshall that makes amplifiers. (Nothing comes up when I Google Marshall Arts)

Concert promotion company: http://www.marshall-arts.com/ And as an aside... their page on Paul is WAY out of date.

The Rolling Stones will do a European tour from June 3 to July 14 (including date in Barcelona). This means that there will be no Paul concerts in Europe in those days. But ... if the rumors of the concert at the festival in Lucca (Italy) are true, I think there might be a mini tour of Europe in mid-July. Now the fun begins !

Would love it if they did a few UK dates. They've been someone I've been wanting to see for ages. They have been on my bucket list for ages along with Bowie but of course I'll never get to see Bowie live

We should find out soon - the lineup does get announced in January. And I normally do NOT do festivals, but I went to JazzFest once and had a great time, so I would consider going for Paul.
Good luck to you both, let's wait and see whether it will come true!

I bet it was, just like when he did Eleanor Rigby and Calico Skies with real strings back in 2007, in London. There was also that special Royal Performance way back in 1995, which included The Brodsky Quartet. Hopefully there are more examples to come.

When will the final line-up of the Lucca festival be announced?
-
Not trying to shoot this down or thinking it's not plausible, but keep in mind Lucca Festival is rumoured for about every other year.
-
Only rumors: Paul Mccartney Lucca 2017???? Information 16 Oct. 2017- news paper Lucca. http://iltirreno.gelocal.it/lucca/cronaca/2016/10/16/news/mccartney-dylan-e-waters-tris-di-star-per-il-summer-2017-1.14261743

I put little to no merit into the Italian rumor. I don't recall ever hearing Paul mentioned for Jazz Fest before...it's definitely time. However, I don't see Australia happening if he does it. Basically, I think we'll either get an Australian leg in May, or a US leg in May (and probably into the summer) with Jazz Fest kicking it off.
-
Any further rumors?
-
Dead quiet!
-
... as he announced Japan he will continue with the tour....i assume Macca will come to Europe as well... maybe Italy, UK....normally mid march the rumours always started.....i am more interested in album leaks....date etc....bob any news here? ð???
-
All quiet on all Macca fronts!! Steve Marinucci's sources say new single in June and album this summer. Have no idea what kind of source that is coming from

I have been keeping a close eye on the festival message boards (Inforoo and Phantasy Tour), since the Jazz Fest lineup is supposed to be announced tomorrow. Phantasy Tour posts claim that Paul *was* in for Jazz Fest but suddenly backed out last week. I also heard that the JF lineup announcement has been pushed back from the 24th, possibly because they are scrambling to find a new headliner to replace Paul. Guess we will know tomorrow. So unless all the people with festival sources are wrong and he is announced, we are back to knowing nothing. I believe we got announcements of April 2016 US/Canada shows in early March, btw.

Hopefully backing out of a late April/early May date is because he has finally booked some dates more East than Tokyo for that period... And correct, March 9 announced, 13 April the first gig.

It probably means they wouldn't pony up enough dough...

I'm afraid so as well, it seems all about that these days.

Jazz Fest lineup will be announced on Friday, so we will find out for sure.
