I've been saving up all my money for good seats at the next concert. I'm really hoping he comes back to the states this year. I can't believe this August will be two years since he last came to Philly! Seems like yesterday
Time goes by quickly!

I said he hasn't toured during a presidential election year in the US since 1976. I know he toured in 1976 cuz I stood three feet from Paul and Linda (and Jimmy, Denny and Joe) in Kansas City...
Sorry but I was quoting someone else on here, certainly not you as your signature shows you know about '76 better than I.

Starting with my genuine assertion that my role affords me no prior insider knowledge of events: I wonder if we'll get new date announcements off the back of Paul's appearance tonight? We have seen similar use of such public appearances in the past... Just wondering........ Martin

That would be cool. Maybe some July dates in Europe since he is playing in London on July 27. Maybe some late summer USA dates? Who knows?

Thinking the very same here. Let's hope!

Some summer UK dates would be lovely! hehe.

I was thinking the same. Euro dates through to the olympic performance. Then, God-willing, US dates in August....Please Paul- I need my annual fixation of Macca!!!

It would be tough, but if McCartney could find a way to do ONE New Mexico show in August or September!! That would be AMAZING!!

I would imagine that if he doesn't announce any American dates within the next 48 hours to take advantage of the publicity from his being on the delayed broadcast of the Jubilee Concert tonight on ABC, then he won't appear here this summer.
-
He won't be coming back until his setlist is slightly changed, that's the rumors I heard around AROTR, in 2013.

When McCartney toured in 89/90 he made minor changes to the set list. Three years later he toured in 1993, with an almost totally new set list. But that was three years in the planning and practicing, etc. He was 50 years old then. I find if hard to believe he, at this point in the game, would have a new set list in place in about 6 months. It could happen, I suppose. If McCartney REALLY wants to do that. The question is, does he? I thought he was working on a new rock CD. Maybe he will release that and play three or four new tunes off that, embedded in the present set list.

Those tours were a totally different ballgame. We can really only consider the 21st century onward when it comes to the setlist for a Paul McCartney concert. I don't forsee that album coming out by the end of this year, and he never plays songs before release really. His setlist this year, will be a continuation of the Spring setlists, maybe a song or two changed by the year's end. Who knows what is coming. There is nothing to go on and it is driving me MAD!!!

Wix, that was my point. Those tours were a different situation, by a younger man who took two years to re tool a world tour. Now, I think we are stuck with the set list, with a change here or there, as you pointed out.

My budget hopes there is no US tour until next year.
