Hey, where did the Olympics thread go?
LOL...someone turned them in. Too much bickering. Too bad there were some good pics there!
it was beyond that Javilu..sigh
Can anyone PM me and tell me what happened? One of the few instances on which I defended Paul and the thread goes away! LOL I don't recall any name calling so I don't understand why the whole thing had to go away.
I spent the weekend reconciling with my bf and didn't check in at the forum. I found out this morning that some drama went down around here. Geez...I can't ever leave these kids unnattened without everything going haywire. No need for specifics. Same characters. Similar script.

We go away for the weekend and the kids make a mess

That MaccaMexico Twitter-feed was right on the money regarding the previous batch of South-American tour dates, right? (Or at least provided the right sources to the main audience, whatever). And now he's saying December?
-
I have read rumours of concerts in December/January, and there are three or four cities left in Brazil which are big enough for a McCartney concert, but Paul will not come all the way to South America to play in just one country, as the costs would be too high. If he gets good offers from three of four countries, that would increase the chances. Trouble is, he has stated that he does not wish to perform in the same cities of previous tours. I hope he will change his mind, otherwise the biggest ones are out of the picture: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Recife, Florianópolis, Buenos Aires, Lima, Santiago, Montevideo, Asunción, Bogotá. I remember one of the candidates for the last tour was Córdoba, in Argentina, but I know nothing about the city. My knowledge of South America is limited to Brazil and the cities I've been to in nearby countries. If you guys are aware of other South American cities big enough for his concerts, feel free to say so.

Don't know of any but if anyone from Paul's company would like me to go down there and prepare a report on potential venues, I am ready, willing and able! My wife speaks wonderful Spanish and mine is so-so, that won't help in Brazil but you have that covered.

Absolutely. If MPL wants to hire me, I'll be glad to visit some cities and send them a report.

It's nice to daydream. a relative of mine just came back from Brazil after doing business there, he spoke highly of your country.

Ugh....this isn't happening...agaaaain.
I know. I don't mean to begrudge anyone of the chance to see Paul, but how about Australia? The UK? Dare I say, the US? Spread the love around so we all get a chance, with some places that have been ignored being at the top of the list. :
-
Australia has definitely been ignored. They have a thread on here that is ten years old called something like "Paul Please Come To Australia." It is still active and surfaces on here occasionally with an updated plea. I admire their persistance,.

Australia deserves him the most. Then, Denmark. Japan is up there too. Then I'd say the US comes in followed by the rest of europe and the UK. THEN, South America.

Forgot Denmark! Right you are, he owes them 2 shows, doesn't he? I definitely hope that he mixes up tour locations a bit more.

Yep two dates were cancelled. My thought, was that after London calms down from all this Olympic stuff, and the extra fluff that comes with it and the jubilee and everything...that Paul would shake the set up a little bit, do a brief US arena tour in the fall, and then do his (now annual) homecoming dates for Christmas. I guess we'll see.... :
-
If he does ANY shows and doesn't make up for the cancelled Denmark dates, he's going to have a riot of angry fans on his hands. Mind you, though, he didn't seem to mind not making up the Australian show he cancelled, so who knows?

Maybe it would get boring for him, but I wish he would pick a plan and just stick with it. Something to please everyone...like this... Jan-Feb: OFF March-May: Europe June-Aug: US Sept-Oct: OFF Nov: South America Dec: Release the next in the archive collection, do UK shows. And of course, they wouldn't be long tours, just a lot of miniature legs. He could shift the set around every year...and stop by the continents I left out when there is time. He obviously isn't that concerned about them to play there every year...

This thread is kinda repeating itself. Or is it Deja-Vu?
