I had previously received this from Beatlefan magazine:
Unconfirmed details of the upcoming 50th anniversary "Abbey Road" set are showing up on social media. Here, from a knowledgeable source in direct contact with Apple Corps, is what Beatlefan has heard:
At this time, the "Abbey Road" 50th anniversary set is 3 cds and a Blu-ray. The first disc is the remix, the second CD is alternate versions in order (with "Her Majesty" in its original spot) and a third disc of tidbits and associated songs from the time period.
Our source heard the first run-thru of "I Want You" from Feb. 15, 1969, at Trident Studios and said it was "haunting." The 5.1 surround mix has the "Because" vocals-only, as well as the separated vocals from "Come Together" (which finally settle that is is indeed Paul on backing vocals).
For the book, Paul has contributed 80 "never before seen" photos by Linda from the studio sessions, and Kevin Howlett has done the majority of the writing.
At this point, both Paul and Ringo are due to attend the Aug. 28 unveiling of the album at Abbey Road's Studio 2 in London.

A month before the 50th anniversary of the albums release...that's quite early isn't it?

Really can't wait for this!!! I do wish that "Here Comes The Sun" would begin immediately after"I Want You....." ends. No break, as in the medleys. I thought when the album was first released on CD, that would happen. It didn't. I kind of solved it currently by inserting the "LOVE" version of "Here Comes The Sun." Love how it begins and ends and it fits seemlessly into the "Abbey Raod" album, side 2,......with no break at all between it and "I Want You..." Hope they get around to "Revolver" and "Rubber Soul."

That was probably the only day they could get both Paul and Ringo to London.

Thats true. It seems a bit of a security risk though to announce their participation like that, especially so far in adavance. Normally these things would be very hush hush. I can see Abbey Road being totally blocked that day. Good job I'm going to the studios 17 days earlier.

Thanks for starting this thread. Greatly looking forward to the 50 Anniversary of Abbey Road...and the treasures The Beatles will release for the occasion!
-
I can't afford to buy all these special Beatles things. Kestrel, if it's alright to ask, why are you going to Abbey Road studios? Are you a musician?
-
I think any Beatles fan, regardless if they’re a musician, would love to see the inside of Abbey Road Studios! I know that if a tour is available in Aug. 2020 when my friend Jennifer and I are there, we are definitely going!

I can tell the difference between a drum kit and a piano from about fifty feet away but my musical ability ends there I'm afraid, Susy.
As Nancy suggests, its all about being in that room where the Beatles recorded a lot of amazing tracks. And not only the Beatles of course but also Pink Floyd and Kate Bush and literally hundreds of other artists. Climbing the stairs and entering the control room (which I finally was allowed to do last year) and looking back down into the studio is an amazing experience. And then there are all the keyboards and recording equipment on display. I think next month will be my 6th visit inside the studios (the first was back in 1983) and despite the cost,I never regret these visits. Given the choice between attending a Paul McCartney live concert or attending a visit to Abbey Road studios, I would choose the latter every time.

Would you like to buy a brick?
Not just any old brick though, but a Abbey Road studio 2 brick.....on sale for just £350 / $433.
Oh,and btw, you have to go to the studios to pick it up in person.

I sent this to a friend of mine who bought one of the Strawberry Field bricks! Wonder if they’d hold it until Aug. 2020 when we visit London?

I don't see why not. They could always use it as a door stop until your friend was ready to collect it.
