he is an exclusive image of the lyrics (I know it's almost impossible to read it), but it's something I've made for Maccaclub
Thank for posting these teasers Really cool to see the album and lyrics, however, have been crossing my eyes and holding them sideways and still can’t read the lyrics. This is a bright ray of light to look forward to in these gloomy times.

How did you get the lyrics, Victor ?

I took the image from Thrid Man Record and with Photoshop I cropped the lyrics and put it in the right direction. I've done this for the fanclub and news website that I co run the Maccaclub

First, I could not find the review on the magazines web site. I guess I will check back in a few days. Overall, it sounds pretty good and I will enjoy the acoustic vibe of most of the album. Interesting that the reviewer says the "duds" are when McCartney "rocks out". I love the reviewer mentioning that McCartney is on a songwriting roll lately, he really has been amazing the last 20 years. Once again, it is nice to see another McCartney album getting good review. Thanks for sharing Andrew !!!

When I read the Rolling Stone review, I knew I had seen the title 'The Kiss Of Venus' before, so I went back through the interview book in the "Flaming Pie" deluxe edition, and I found the following quote:
As for the songs that might go on such an album, they had been accruing all along. They always are. Here, by way of illustration, is a somewhat tangential story McCartney tells today, in 2019, about writing a recent song, a song that no one has ever heard and perhaps never will:
"I fight with myself sometimes. I did it recently. I had an afternoon, it was a lovely summer's day last year, and the window was open and I was in the bedroom in London and I sat down and thought, 'Oh yeah, I'll have a noodle.' So I was noodling on the guitar and I thought, 'Oh, that's quite good.' And I thought, I'll either just bang it down on my iPhone or I'll finish it. And I wrestled with myself, and said, 'Finish it - what else are you gonna do? Stick it down then go and watch telly or something? Finish it. Take an hour or so.' So I did and I was very proud of myself. I had a cool little book Jools Holland's wife had given me, kind of an astrology book, all about the planets and movements and the fantastic synchronicity of it all. A fascinating book, actually, when the planets go through all the little things, if you look at a graph, as it were, of them all, it like makes a lotus. It's trippy. There was some great little phrases - 'the kiss of Venus' was one of them. So I was loving that book and I was making up a song about that, but that was an instance of forcing myself to write. And I felt good after it. I thought, 'Yeah that's a pretty good little song.' I haven't had the time to record it, but I will."I took a picture of it on my phone, but I wasn't sure if it would be a copyright infringement to post the image here. Anyway, since we're all patiently waiting for more "McCartney III" news, I thought you guys might find this quote interesting!

Yes, thank you Andrew for posting this!
I agree, Yankeefan2, it is so nice to read such a good review for Paul's new album, gets me even more excited to hear it! I remember all the good reviews for Egypt Station and I love that album; I still listen to it often.

A new review of the album. Despite the mentioning of many of the songtitles, it still appears that one has yet to be revealed.

Okay, so McCartney lll is still set for 11th December release and ahead of any official announcement, the tracklisting appears to be:
Long Tailed Winter Bird.
Find My Way.
Pretty Boys.
Women and Wives.
Lavatory Lil.
Deep Deep Feeling.
The Kiss of Venus.
Seize the Day.
Deep Down.
Winter Bird/When Winter Comes. With four weeks and four days to go, there is still no word on a single although if there is going to be one, it should be anytime now.

Does anyone know when the McCartney store on this site will offer other versions than the vinyl lp?

This review is classic example of why I get nervous when McCartney does not have a strong producer to tell him that particulars songs are not good enough for the album and they need to be cut or changed. In this case McCartney is the producer and so he makes every decision without input. If this review is "spot on" it will be another McCartney album that will have some fantastic music but unfortunately a few clunkers. Really looking forward to the release and being able to hear it and form my own opinion.

Maybe look at it this way: Despite a great producer, "Confidante" remained on Egypt Station, vocal intact. On a diffferent day, Paul's vocal could have been terrific. The producer should have nixed the vocal used and waited for that different day. I don't know if any of the questionable songs to which you refer involve a vocal, maybe not. But you are correct: Paul allows songs that just aren't good enough sneak past him and needs someone to tell him that straight away. Also, when any reviewer resorts to the phrase "silly love songs" in reference to McCartney, I lose faith in what else is said in the review If the meandering in some songs is catchy, I may well like them. However, just the name "Lavatory Lil" for a song prepares me for what likely is to come....and it's quite likely not good. I thought that before the reviewer brought it up.....

Paul produced Band On the Run....and that didn't do too badly? Paul didn't produce (alone) Press To Play and Egypt Station, both of which are now judged to be amongst the weakest of his studio album. So the fact trhat McCartney lll was self-produced doesn't prove anything to me.
From what I've read so far the album sounds pretty inventive, pretty imaginative, an album of Paul being Paul and not trying to please anyone else. Its worth pointing out that Paul has mentioned already that these sessions were never meant to be an album, that they were never intended to be released.
I'm quite hopeful that McCratney lll is going to be a welcome return to form.
