McCartney 3?

i thought that Paul and MPL would have tried putting out one more video for the McCartney III Reimagined Project before the new CD was rreleased. The first two tracks highlighted (Beck and Dominic) were ok but they didn't crack a dent on the Billboard Singles' chart. As much as I love several of the tracks on Paul's original McCartney III album, I still think that "Seize the Day"is the best song. I thought they would have rushed out a video of Phoebe Bridgers cover of "Seize the Day".
That being said, I don't think McCartney III Reimagined will do very well on the album charts later this month.
How sad that we are wondering how a McCartney cover song will do in the charts on a album that was released around 4 months ago. Once again, I will say it is pathetic that MPL are now putting their hopes on other artists to promote Paul McCartney songs on his most recent album.

I don't see this getting a lot of cross over buying.
By that I mean those who listen to Paul, buying the cover album, those who listen to the cover people go out and buy Paul's III Album. I am not saying there aren't any - just not large numbers.
I got Paul's album and that is the only one that I want. -

I'll stick with the original album as well, I love it as it is. Great reviews, number one in the UK and number two in the US, I think it was very successful on its own anyway.

Exactly !! At this stage of his recording career, great reviews are the most important thing to me. McCartney like other older artists will not have great sales after the first two weeks but at least the album hit the charts very respectfully in the countries you mentioned. I think I could have handled "McCartney III Imagined" better if it was an "organic" type of thing and artists did it on their own but the fact that MPL did this with new album just does not sit well with me.

Has anyone thought about what their favorite 3 song run on McCartney 3 is?
I don't like having to leave out When Winter Comes, but I suppose my favorite three song run would be:
Slidin', The Kiss of Venus, and Sieze the Day
The opening three run of Long Tailed Winter Bird, Find My Way, and Pretty Boys is probably my second favorite, it's right up there too.
-
McCall...I would agree with your best 3 in a row set for McCartney III :
Sliding
The Kiss of Venus
Seize thel Day.
My best 3 in the row set for McCartney III Imagined would be:
Women and Wives (Stl Vincent Remix)
Deep Down (Blood Orange Remix)
Seize the Day (Phoebe Bridgers)

My favourite run of three would be The Kiss of Venus, Seize the Day & Deep Down. I do really like Deep Deep Feeling though so as a second choice I would choose that song followed by Slidin' & The Kiss of Venus.

The 3 song run suggested above is okay, but there just isn't a knockout 3 song run on McC III like there is on his best albums, including Egypt Station

In my opinion the runs of 1) Long Tailed Winter Bird, Find My Way, Pretty Boys, and 2) Slidin', The Kiss of Venus, Seize the Day are pretty great.
A run of The Kiss of Venus, Seize the Day, When Winter Comes would have been a total knockout run (up there with the very best in Paul's catalog), if it wasn't broken up by Deep Down which I don't like as much.
I consider Egypt Station to be one of Paul's very best albums. I Don't Know, Come On To Me, Happy with You is a great run to start the album. The seven tracks from Confidante through Caesar Rock are mostly pretty great too.

None of those three-song runs are going to beat Band on the Run, Jet and Bluebird.
Or Uncle Albert, Smile Away, Heart of the Country.
Or Ballroom Dancing, the Pound is Sinking, Wanderlust
Or Tug of War, Take it Away, Somebody who cares.
At the risk of controversy... Girlfriend, I've Had Enough, With a Little Luck.
And I love... Spin it on, Again and again and again (even if not Paul, one of Denny's best) and Old Siam Sir.
And... People Want Peace, Hand in Hand and Dominoes is also excellent.
Nothing on McCartney 3 even matching those.
-
And now on another Pipes of Peace listen.....
Keep Under Cover, So Bad, The Man.

To each their own. I'd probably rate the McCartney 3 song run above maybe half of the ones listed above.

Video for Slidin'. Very cool!

Toris...I think you're proving the point that Paul's Solo/Post Beatles' full career has been pretty amazing and greatly underrrated/unappreciated by the general public.
And how about "Somedays, Young Boy and Calico Skies" as 3 in a row on Flaming Pie.
All of this being said, I agree with McCall that "Sliding, Kiss of Venus and Seize the Day" as 3 in a row on McCartney 3 is pretty darn great for a 78 year old as well.
When I think about it, look at songs like "Turned Out, Why so Blue, Get Started, Yvonne's the One, Waterspout, Rainclouds, Summer of 59, This Loving Game, etc. etc. that weren't even on their original repective albums. This alone proves to me that Paul McCartney is the greatest modern era singer/songwriter/musician of all time.

I agree!
It was five years between New and Egypt Station, and I thought it might be another five years between Egypt Station and Paul's next album. So McCartney 3 coming only two years after ES was a real gift. I know it's greedy to be wondering about what's next so soon after M3, but what can I say? I love Paul's music, so the more the better as far as I'm concerned.
I assume we won't get another album any time soon unless it's something that he's already completed but just hasn't been released yet. The only ones I know of like that are the "High in the Clouds" soundtrack and the "It's a Wonderful Life" score. I hope it's not too long until whatever is next.

I was in a bar last night & they played (on the music feed) 2 Macca songs from McCartney III. I was shocked! They played Deep Down & Women & Wives!
