McCartney 3?

A friend of mine told me about the 333 yellow and black version first thing this morning so I fortunately got a copy of that. Also got the indie copy and newbury comic one.

"Rockdown"
I love this.
Since it's all started and we've been hostage at home, I've had some guilt that this new-found free-time has allowed me to florish in some of the more "artistic" parts of myself.
It's been ugly to see the true toll this illness has taken.
But for those who can and those who are able to, I think it is important for us to see this time as a "Rockdown." A time where we allow ourselves to finally answer the calling in order for us to become our ture selves once and for all. A time to prove our worth and step up in the name of those who need us most in order for a better world.
I don't think we're racing back to what the world once was, but this catastrophe has allowed us an opportunity for course correction. If we all truly want it, it's there for us, just as John said. And if we're dedicated to the change, let us use this time in fact as a "Rockdown," just as Paul has, and bring the next smile to each other.
Peace & Love Maccaboard, and Happy McCartney Announcement Day!
Let the press cycle and mass influence begin

White. Paul's site here has a link to Record Store Day's site, where we can find a record store in our local area to buy from.

Paul's new interview about the cd
[And then when Wings broke up it was a similar thing. And with me, when I’ve got a lot of time, my go-to situation is, ‘Well, write and record, then – that’s something to do when you’ve got some spare time.’]
Understandably I guess Paul is getting muddled again. McCartney ll was recorded between the release of Back To The Egg and the Wings UK tour. Wings didn't actually break up until nearly a year after the release of McCartney ll.

Wow the vinyls are selling like hot cakes!!! I could only manage to get a pink and a white vinyl and then got a green CD from Target... I wonder if everything sold out today? Is the red vinyl the only one with a poster inside?

My wife has already told me not to buy it, makes great Christmas gift for my daughters to buy me -lol

But in the "public perception", Wings were over after the "Japanese incident" in early 1980. The last Wings record was 1979.

If there is a God, please, anything but McCartney III!
There is a God and there will be a McCartney III -lol. I love the album cover and my hope is it is more like "McCartney" than "McCartney II". Actually, I would not mind if it was kind of like "CHAOS" only a little bit more uptempo. I feel very confident he will have some high quality songs and my only concern is how good his voice will be. Anyway, really looking forward to this album and just in time for Christmas - yeah !!

Well we know now there is a McCartney III, so the deity apparently answers your prayers and not mine. I hope my misgivings are wrong, but historically Paul has almost always been best with a strong producer, like Godrich on "Chaos."

I know what you mean but its also true that Ram & Band on the Run were self-produced and they were pretty good albums.
My personal hope for McCartney lll is for a cross between McCartney & Electric Arguments.

That’s my hope as well Kestrel! Looking forward to hearing the album!

Yesterday in a charity shop I picked up the "Put it there" DVD which I'd not seen before - it was wonderful, really good studio rehearsals with a great band. One hour of fine music including several Beatles numbers. If McCartney 3 is only half as good as that, it'll be worth it. For me, the last two albums went in one ear and out the other, a bit ordinary, which doesn't matter - there's been so much great music. He doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.

Like Yankeefan, I very much am looking forward to McCartney 3. The man has an endless amount of musical creativity so this is exciting news that we are getting a brand new album so soon.
Dirk, I have to somewhat disagree with you on Paul's last 2 albums...Egypt Station and New. I think that both albums produced many good songs and they, in retrospect, hold up very well against Paul's vast Post Beatles' catalog. Unlike many of Paul's contemporaries from the Pop-Rock genre, he has continued to write amazing songs in the latter stages of his Solo career. Just look at his output over the last 20 years creating great new music with albums like Chaos and Creation, Memorly Almost Full, Electric Arguments, Driving Rain, New and Egypt Station.

I totally agree with you, I have stated for years that CHAOS may be the best McCartney solo album ever and having a producer like Godrich really helped. He was not afraid to tell McCartney something was not good and it showed. CHAOS did not have those 2 or 3 clunker songs most McCartney albums.

Someone already did a cover version of one of the songs before it's even been released! Have a listen:

^ That is from Paul's trailer:

The red vinyl/with poster...is available again on PM.com! So now I have 3 colored vinyls and a poster! It will be a bit funny if they all include posters

I was right there with you until....."Driving Rain." That album, to me is one of his weakest, if not the very weakest. I liked the opening song and then....... But: Both NEW and Egypt Station are very good albums. Some spotty vocals here and there on ...Sation, but a very strong album., especially with all the left over cuts recorded during the session, several of which I would have put on the album in the first place.
