Hmm...I had done search on internet and it showed about 7 miles apart between downtown and candlestick so thought that would be pretty easy to cab or bus there....or am I missing something?
I go to "the city" frequently. Even though it is about 8 - 10 miles from the Financial District to Candlestick, it will take about a half hour to drive on a good day since there are a lot of city streets to travel on before you get onto the freeway. By bus, you are looking at around a 45 min. to an hour because the bus will make many, many stops along the way, unless Muni adds an express bus like they used to do on game days. Then you will have to walk about a mile to get from the bus stop to the stadium. Hopefully they will keep the buses running late or else fans could be "stuck at the 'Stick."
I think Muni runs pretty late into the night, it's BART most folks will have to worry about since they only run until midnight out of the city.

I really really hope that Paul opens the concert with "Rock & Roll Music"...I love that song...plus it has historic significance: [At Candlestick Park on Aug. 29, 1966] The Beatles ... performed 11 songs: Rock And Roll Music, She?s A Woman, If I Needed Someone, Day Tripper, Baby?s In Black, I Feel Fine, Yesterday, I Wanna Be Your Man, Nowhere Man, Paperback Writer and Long Tall Sally.
"Rock and Roll Music" was always John's cover. Paul never did it.

I think Candlestick is close to downtown so I'm thinking staying in downtown close to water and just bus/cab to this...
You may want to stay in Burlingame, closer to the airport, and it will be easier to get a cab to the Stick.
Absolutely! Cab ride from near the airport should be faster and cheaper. The 'stick is NOT close to downtown, it's at the far south end of SF. (Geographically, it's actually about in the middle between SFO and downtown, but the drive will be easier from the area around SFO)
Hmm...I had done search on internet and it showed about 7 miles apart between downtown and candlestick so thought that would be pretty easy to cab or bus there....or am I missing something?
It's not the distance, it's that the route from downtown virtually guarantees horrendous traffic. People have speculated about a special Muni express bus, but that's just speculation (and as a San Franciscan, I would never, ever put myself in a position of depending on Muni if there was a way to avoid it). It's doable, but staying close to the airport is almost guaranteed to be easier.
Thanks for info...we would be going for 4 or 5 nights so I'm still thinking I would rather stay downtown and enjoy the scenery and put up with the traffic issue the one day only...maybe..lol

Got the email regarding pre-sales, and noticed a mistake. Says presale starts at 9AM, but advises fans to come to the site for 10AM. "The pre-sale for both shows begins Tuesday 29th April at 9am (local time / 5pm BST). Please also keep in mind pre-sale tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis so fans are advised to come to the site for 10am."

Just saw this on the Paul McCartney Facebook page. Good news! "Pre-sales tickets for the Los Angeles gig and previously announced show in San Francisco will be available from www.PaulMcCartney.com at 9am (local / 5pm BST) on Tuesday 29th April. To be eligible to purchase tickets fans must be registered with the site by 5am (PDT / 1pm BST)."
ok is this UK time or US time?
Hi McCartney, The website pre-sale begins at 9AM local (venue) time which is 9AM PDT (Pacific Daylight Time). 9AM PDT is 5PM BST (British Summer Time). Anita
ok Anita thanx hope it's SC packs too?
No official confirmation yet, but it appears so: (Scroll all the way down) https://slotix.com/tours/paul-mccartney/out-there-in-north-america/c548ef8a446e797a1ea715366066bb88VwR2AFV%3D https://slotix.com/tours/paul-mccartney/out-there-in-north-america/c548ef8a446e797a1ea715366066bb88VwR2AFV%3D/1af33a7d23d4bd00bed948f6263fd6bcVwZ2BGHv
Got my email from the site and it does give the correct time of 9AM Pacific time for the tickets to go on sale. The links posted above though say 10:00am. Does that mean the VIP packages go on sale an hour later?

If it is two different times, I'll do the 9AM one and see what I can get and if that doesn't work then I'll try for a silver package.

I have a feeling they are combining the three sale dates noted at PM.com... Fans registered with PaulMcCartney.com will be eligible to purchase pre-sale tickets from 9am (local time / 5pm BST) on Tuesday 29th April. To be eligible for this pre-sale fans must be registered with the website by 5am (PDT / 1pm BST) on Tuesday. Tickets for the newly announced date will be on sale Monday, May 5 at 10am local time. American Express Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Thursday, May 1 at 10am through Sunday, May 4 at 10pm.

but the slo tix site says VIP packages go on sale at 10am on Tuesday, so that's confusing as well since everywhere else says 9AM for the website pre-sale.

San Francisco is a lot colder than most places in the summer. I live up in the suburbs and it gets into the 90s here in the summer, where as in S.F. it stays in the mid to high 60s with the occasional heat wave. Even Paul commented back in 2010 about the cold evening during the concert and it was in July Candlestick is right by the water and it gets really cold and breezy down there, so even in the summer it gets very cold down there in that part of the city.
-
Thanks! Had no idea the weather was like that!
-
Hi, I have bought tickets in the years past and there used to be a 4 ticket limit for the tour if you bought tickets through crowdsurge. Is that limit still going on? I'm asking because I would like to buy 4 presale tickets for each of the California shows without getting my tickets canceled if I go over the limit

Sounds like summer weather I would like!

Do we just punch in our email address for,the presale or are we given a password?
-
Pre-sale at PM.COM would be your e-mail address....if you've already registered.

Hi All, What does crowdsurge have to do with Tuesday's pre-sale? Do we have to register an account with them, or will the link on the pre-sale redirect us to Ticketmaster? For those who prefer not to stand, what sections in the Lower Box do you think would be the best seats to try for? I sat too far to the side at AT&T and never saw the back screen projection. Thanks, and good luck on Tuesday!
