WixRocks!:
Weather sounds great! We'll be at the pre-show party as well, hopefully seeing the limo and hearing soundcheck from there. If not, we may wander as soundcheck begins. But I really like being at the opposite gate from the main crowd and already having a wrist band. This way we never really have to go up into the stadium, we'll just stay down on the field. That was not an option at EJ/BJ.
We may check it out, sounds interesting and I like that it will be easier to get in as well. Plane finally took off nearly three hours late, but I'm on the way to DC!

Glad to hear you're on your way, paulfan11! Everyone who didn't read my posts a few pages back Heard from the venue yesterday that everyone with a ticket to the show can come to the pre-concert tailgate party. The tailgate party will begin at 430pm at the Timeline Ramp located at the corner of Potomac Avenue and South Capitol Street. They will check your bag there, you can get your wristband if you have a field ticket (remember that you MUST have a wristband and WEAR it if you have floor tickets). There will be live music, food and drink for sale as well. Fun party and the first of its kind that they've had. Woooo hooooo! Two more sleeps and we'll be rockin' the night away with Paul!!!

Hi Hi Hi everyone, wanted to say this is my first Maccaboard post, after lurking for the past few weeks. Like paulfan11, I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, and am in town for a meeting. The meeting ends on Friday, and I thought I'd stay Another Day to attend the Rock Show on Friday evening! When I saw that Paulie (as referred to affectionately by Wilfrid Brambell as Paul's fictional grandfather) was playing on Friday, I checked to see if tickets were available (this was mid-May), and the best available at the time were in FLD2. Checking back periodically, I finally purchased a single ticket in early June located in FLD4, row 22. I'm looking forward to the show, both as a baseball fan who has never been to Nationals Park, and a McCartney and Beatles fan (the first album I ever bought was "Revolver"). Hope to see some other Maccaboard members at the tailgate party, somewhere outside the stadium listening to soundcheck (if I can get there in time) or at the show - and at Outside Lands festival in August. And here's a Drink to Your Health - a great idea! And BTW, I first saw Paul McCartney live at Cyclone Stadium in Ames, IA and Sullivan (now Gillette) Stadium in Foxborough, MA in 1990, and most recently at Yankee Stadium in 2011.

Welcome Kuhala and glad you finally posted. Have a great time at the show on Friday! I'm so excited that I can't even keep focused at work! Tomorrow is going to be impossible and I'll be working till 200 on Friday and then heading down to DC from Maryland. Hope to be there to see the limo arrive and hear the sound check. See everyone there!

Leaving shortly for the show. I hope to see some familiar faces!
-
Are you on the field foget64? stopping by the pre-show party?
-
I won't know where I'm sitting until I go to the will call window on Friday. I'm hoping to get my tickets as early as possible so I can make the pre show party. This is the first time I'm going to a concert and I don't know where I'm sitting!
-
For those taking the Metro subway to the ballpark, take the green line to the Navy Yard stop. This lets you out about 1/2 block from the centerfield gate. To go to the pre-show tailgate party, you'll need to walk around the ballpark to the home plate gate. This map should help. http//washington.nationals.mlb.com/was/downloads/np_main_concourse_level.pdf

Looks like they've upped the chance for rain and t storms again for tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will clear by show time if it does rain!
-
I just saw that....but it's been overcast here all week since Sunday and it's really only rained twice and they were just half hour storms...quite violent, but short nonetheless!

weather.com shows rain in DC starting tonight around 7 and going until tomorrow morning, with a shower in the late afternoon. I'm not too worried! It wouldn't be a macca show day with a thunderstorm!
