I agree Wix this is just reading too much into it, interesting yes a little but significant I do not think so.

Re "official" setlist: note the spelling of "Vanderbilt." Hope that settles it. OTOH "Gotta" is definitely wrong.
Whoever typed that up was not going by grammar or "proper" spellings of anything. The original family was the Vanderbilts, yes. But Paul's LP has it spelled Vandebilt which was probably a mistake at the time that was never corrected on subsequent pressings of the album.

I think that is the case.

I have never been to a tour opener for Paul so I was wondering if practicing the night before at the venue was a normal thing for Paul?? Thanks
-
Was it me or were there far less pictures of John shown on the screen during the show?? I know he used to show John during some of the old Beatle footage and during "Here Today" but I do not remember seeing any of John.

I don't think so. Vandebilt (without the r) is intentional. Why else would the lyrics for the song not have the r. And the singles released at the time.

maybe it was to avoid getting sued or something

I wouldn't call this a separate 'tour'. It's just a continuation of On The Run...isn't it? He just took time off in the middle of it. Time to play forthe Queen & do the Olympics...everyday occurances, huh? lol But YES, I've heard he usually does do rehearsals the day before. I heard he did some in Mexico & South America.
-
Why did the "On The Run" lettering switch from gray to red??

Everytime I've seen him do it, he has waterfalls or something very natural and earthy on the backdrop. I never take pictures during that song since it is such a sincere moment in the show. Perhaps he had pictures of John in the 2002/2003/ shows?

Yes, he always does. At all the shows I attended which were the first gigs of a new leg (Dublin '10, Bologna '11, Rotterdam '12) he arrived one day early for an extended rehearsal at the venue.

Wow! We've been to three McCartney shows. Say howdy next time.

audi, are you a member of the fb group? The videos are killer. I went to the preshow meetup at Maggies but we did not get to the after show gig. Cindy was not feeling good!

Nah...I'm not on Facebook. And -- darnit -- I didn't know that there was a pre-show meet-up. Then again, the weather might've kept me inside. Wish I'd known, nonetheless.

Okay here is the first song from Cindy and my vantage point, Section 102 Row M. Magical Mystery Tour....

You don't understand. First, Paul wrote the title wrong (misspelled it) as 'Vandebilt' so subsequently they just kept it like that on all the pressings, as they figured that was how Paul wanted it and who argues with Paul McCartney?

6 days later and my 15 yr old said today 'Mom, I think I may be obsessed with Paul McCartney". I guess I've raised her right) And have ensured that this music will be handed down to my grandkids. Well with the fact that I had to sell my youngest for the 5th row seats (just kidding). I wasn't born until '67 (orchestrations for 'A day in the Life' were recorded the day I was born), so that's a long ways down the road. The kids in her school can't quite relate, but I'm a proud mommy )
